Owner Name:snowyowl379
Name:Takiainen (it means burr in Finnish) Taki for short
Gender:Male
Breedable?:Yes, but picky
Personality: Takiainen is a funny little rune. He enjoys to hide your favorite things in little holes he digs, or in the nooks of trees. The worst was when he dropped my phone into a pond, and I had to fish it out. He is an outdoorsy rune, and does a lot of stuff with me, since I myself, enjoy outdoorsy stuff. We have gone kayaking, hiking, and he likes to help with my gardening. Although he often gets intoxicated by the smell of thyme and rosemary in my herb garden. He likes to read and write, but he often rips up his writing when he is done. he is almost like a dog when he begs for stuff I am eating. He also follows Daydream around, as if he knows she is going to get into some sort of accident. He helps those in need, and heals people that are sick. Sorry to say, but Takiainen is sort of dumb. He can't really think for himself, and sometimes gets into trouble because he can't figure something out. He is blind in one eye due to an accident with some hedge trimmers. Sadly, he could not heal himself when that happened. He is a wonderful little guy.

Why do you want him?: At first, I decided to wait for another rune when I got Daydream.
When I first saw this rune I thought nothing special of him, and moved on. But after looking at him for a while, his cute little bandanas, the rings on his feet and tail, and the pretty red marking on his wing, I decided that I wanted him. I think I could relate to his personality, being cranky and mean. Also, Daydream was looking lonely, and I wanted to give her a companion before I headed back to school, and would be having her at home for hours.
Where would you keep him?: In my siggy, and if I make a character thread, in there too.
Quirks:Even though he can heal the sick, Takiainen is a big germaphobe. Before he comes near a sick person, he will pull his bandana up over his nose, and rub hand sanatizer on his feet. He prefers to sleep outside on a maple tree in y yard. I even made him a little rune-sized hammock for him to sleep on. He also hides his favorite things in his abundance of fluff in his chest.
Fears: Like all Runes Takiainen has a few fears. Some of them are irrational, but I myself have weird fears. Here are the ones I've discovered:
Germs, toothpaste, batteries, butterflies, and brass.

The forest was deep, dark and mysterious. All the animals have their way of getting what they want, and they often bullied me to get at my things. I learned in the first month to stay high up in the trees, that way I could not be reached by any ground animals. But then the birds discovered my hollow, and started harassing me to move out. Unfortunately, I gave in, and flew away, but found a nice little burrow in the fields. I think the humans discovered me about a year after I moved in. I could see them watching me through the shrubbery. One day, they decided to approach me and my nest. One of the humans tripped and jammed a sharp rock into his knee. He wailed loudly for hours while the other humans tried to help. I eventually got sick of it, and decided to help him. I trotted over to the human, and yanked the rock out of his knee. He screamed, and attempted to smack me, but I dodged his hand just in time. I waved my wing over the injury about five times, and when I took my wing away, the wound was healed. all the humans looked at me in awe, as I walked back to my burrow. Suddenly, I felt a hand wrap around me, and I was lifted into the air. One of the humans was holding me, and the others were getting stuff out of their bags. I tried struggling free, but that only made the human tighten his grip. One of the humans took out a syringe, and stuck it into my wing. He filled it with my blood, and put the syringe into a plastic baggie. Another human took out another baggie, and filled it with all of the feathers from my left wing. They dropped me on the ground, and ran away.

I had just flown into a maple tree in someone's backyard, when I heard a voice. " Who are you?" A rather small Rune had snuck up on me. She was wearing a nightcap, and looked rather sleepy.
"I am Takiainen, and you are?"
"Malki. I live in that house." She pointed over to a small cottage beyond the trees."My bearer and I live in that cottage. Who's your bearer? Maybe I know him."
"Umm... I don't have a bearer."
"Oh. Do you want one?"
"I don't know. It might be nice not to have to go scavenging for food. Just having someone bring it to you daily."
"Great! I'll go get my bearer. Maybe she knows someone who can adopt you!" Malki flew off to go get his bearer.
"Ugh, Malki what do you want! I was very busy!" Malki pointed to the tree that I was in. I flew down to meet his bearer. "Who is this?" I had landed on a lower branch so she could see me. But as she approached me, I freaked out, and scratched her hand. "Ouch!" And with that, she ran back to the cottage.
"Oh, you've really made her angry!" Malki said.
"I'm sorry...it was just an impulse for me." I started to approach Malki.
"Don't hurt me!" he said, and then flew back to the cottage.
Oh great. I thought to myself. After one bad experience, I've become an anti-social, malicious beast. Malki's bearer finally came back--but with a cage.
"Come here little guy! I've got some food for you!" I wanted to resist, but it had been days since I had eaten. I had to get that food. I swooped into the cage, where a pile of strawberries was waiting for me. Suddenly, the cage door slammed shut. "Now, time to get you to the adoption agency." I thrashed at the door, trying to break free, but it was no use. The door was latched tightly, and tied with a rope. I just had to wait and see where I was going. As the car putted along the dirt road, I started fidgeting with the bangles on my tail. It kept me from getting too nervous. We finally pulled up to a small brick building, that was damaged by age. We got out of the car, and Malki's bearer brought my cage in. She walked up to the front desk, and placed my cage there. She also took out a sticky note, and pasted it on my cage. "The adoption agency will find a good home for you." She murmured. Then she walked out of the agency, and within a few seconds, I could hear tires rolling along a gravel road.

It was a cold winter day in the forest. Most animals were hibernating, and the animals that were awake were very inactive. I thought this would make it a peaceful time for me to go on a quick flight around the forest. Man, was I wrong! A small market was going on in a clearing in the middle of the forest. All the animals were selling and trading there things. I thought it could be fun, so I flew back to my hollow, grabbed some trinkets I had found, and flew back to the market. The ground was bustling with customers, merchants shouting out deals, and people trying to barter with them. I managed to find an old tom cat who was selling some stuff from a previous owner. "Wow, look at all this stuff!" I said, examining each item with care.
"Yeah, my owners spoiled me rotten. Too bad I had to run away when I found out they were going to put me down."
"Why?"
"I don't know. Something about a leg injury. So one night, I just packed up my stuff, and ran away."
"Wow! Hey, how much do you want for those." I pointed to a set of silver and gold rings.
"Umm I don't know. Let's see what you got." I pulled out my bag-o-stuff, and let the tom examine it. "Ooh... how about this." He picked up a pair of goggles and put them on his face. "I have vision problems, and these really help me see."
"Sure, they're yours. And how about for these?" I pointed at a few pieces of torn red fabric.
"Just take 'em. Part of the goggle exchange."
"Thanks!" The tom gave me the rings and the fabric, and I put them into the bag I had brought. I headed back to my hollow, had having a lot of fun at the market, and looked at the stuff I had got. I took out the rings and the fabric, and put them on. I strung the bigger rings on my tail, and put the smaller ones on my feet. The bigger piece of fabric I tied around my neck, and the smaller one I tied to my tail. After a long day, I descended into a long, blissful sleep.
