I sat in a clearing. It was a foggy morning.I was taking picuters of the woodland and the creatures in it. I was doing this for my class. I stop was I heard a sound. I sat for a second then went back to my work. I stopped as I looked in on of my picuters. In the foggy background was a show. I took the picuter and zoomed in. It was hard to tell what it was. I put my camra in my pocket and walked in the way I took the picuter. It was freacky in the woods but I could stand it. I heard the sound again. I stopped and took a look around. On a rock was the shadow again. My eyes widened. I ran over there was a rune. It had a bandan on it its neck and tail. I smiled and walked closer. The rune looked at me. I made a sound again. I took a step back and feel. "Oww,"I said. I looked at my arm it was cut up pretty up. I saw the rune looked at my confused. It hopped over to me and sniffed my arm. I looked at the cutey. The rune took off I sighed. I walked to the rock and sat. I took a few minutes to look at my arm. I heard the leaves rustle and the rune walk out. In its mouth was some cobwebs. I blinked. It always had some other herbs I have never seen before. It started to chew up the leaves and put them on my arm. Then it wrapped the webs around my arm. It felt odd. I smiled and pett the rune. "Thank you," I said. I got up. "I have to leave now.I will come and visit tho." I started to walk home. I heard the rune run behide me. I turnedc around. "You cant come you belong out here,"I said. I started to walk home again. As I reached my house saw a shadow. I looked up there was the rune. I laughed. I guess the rune really want me. I walked up to the steps and sat. " Come here,"I said. It came down and sat on my lap. I pet its head.I went to look at its bandan. The rune growled. So it dosen't like its bandan to be toughed I thought to my self. "Well you came home with me I guess I will name you,"I said. "Now lets see." I thought for a while then it came to me. "I will name you Bandit because you look like one.Not in a bad way tho." Bandit smiled and hopped on my shoulder.I walked into my house and into the kitchen. I took out some tea leaves and other herbs.I filled and a tea pot with water and put it on the stove. Bandit jumped off my shoulder and watched the pot. I sat down and took a picuter of Bandit. I looked throw the picuters on my camara. I heard something move. It was Band it moving the tea pot. "Bandit don't do that,"I said running over. Bandit shook his head. He grabbed a tea cup and nugged the pot with it. I looked confused then figured out that Bandit wanted my to pour the tea so I did I went to take a slap but Bandit made a sound. I realized that he wanted the tea. I let him drink it. So Bandit was odd and all but he was awesome. He was going to be a great rune.

Owner Name:
lemondropkitten
Name:
Sparrow.
I don't know really why I chose this name, but it was the first name I thought of when I saw her. Maybe it's because sparrows eat thistles, and since she is a Thistle Rune, I thought of sparrows, and hence I gave her the name Sparrow, which probably doesn't make sense, since she doesn't look anything like a sparrow, but still, I think Sparrow is a fitting name for her. Rune Dragon's wings have always reminded me of a bird's wings, specifically a sparrow's, so that is another reason why I named her Sparrow. Before I decided on the name Sparrow, I had thought of a few other names, such as Crab Apple, Mole Berry, and Cray, so instead of making one of those her names, I chose Sparrow and used the other names as her favorite foods, crab apples, mole berries, and crayfish. Sparrow is not a fancy name, but is a simple, nice sounding and looking name that I have always liked.

Gender:
Female
Personality:
Skittish.
Like a sparrow or other small bird, Sparrow is bound to become alert at the snap of a twig, or the sudden chirping of a bird. She tends to dash off at the sound of thunder in distance, though she is not afraid of it, and once she realizes it's just thunder, she settles down, and if it starts raining she goes to a thistle bush for shelter.

Sparrow wrote: Sparrow herd loud noise in distance and chirped, flying to the top of a tall pine tree, the sharp pine needles poking at her, though she barely felt them at all, and was a lot more concerned about the loud noise. She bobbed her and let out a chirp of relief as lightning flashed and she realized it was just thunder. Sparrow flew down to a lower perch where she could stay dry when it started to rain, and, as it happens, started to pour just then, and Sparrow just peered through the pine tree's branches watching the rain as it hit the ground with a pitter patter noise.

When the storm stopped, Sparrow flew out into the crispy cool air that was fresh smelling after the rain, gliding down toward the stream where she caught two crayfish, then flew off toward a patch of thistles, and nestled deep in the thistles, ate the crayfish happily, before curling her tail around herself and falling asleep, safe deep in the patch of thistles.
A little while later, Sparrow was awoken with a start by a noisy flock of birds that had flown into a tree near the thistle patch. Sparrow flew off quickly, startled and very annoyed at the loud flock of birds.

Shy and bold.
Sparrow is both shy and bold. She is shy and doesn't trust anyone she doesn't know until a lot of hours spent with her, maybe it might even take months. However, if you threaten her or seem dangerous, she puffs up her chest and spreads open her wings, letting out the same sound that sparrows make when angry.

Sparrow wrote:Sparrow puffed out her chest, letting out an angry chirp. The raccoon backed up a little, still holding Sparrow's catch of two crayfish in it's paws. Sparrow didn't care if it hunted it's own crayfish, only when it hunted hers. The raccoon dropped one of the crayfish, and Sparrow darted forward and shoved it behind her with her tail, and then puffed out her chest even more. The raccoon hissed, and Sparrow stepped back, but then darted forward again and snatched the other crayfish from the raccon's paws. Sparrow flapped her wings, grabbing the crayfish in her jaws and flying close to the ground into a large patch of thistles, where she could ate her crayfish in peace and not be disturbed by raccoons trying to make off with her meal.

Sparrow had finished eating and was drifting off asleep when she herd rustling. She peeked out of the thistles and spotted a large, stray tabby cat stalking a mouse. She flicked her tail, making one of the thistles move, and the cat looked over, spotting her. This time, shyness and fear of the cat overtook her, and she flapped up to the top of a tall tree, watching as the cat flicked it's tail in annoyance and continued stalking the mouse.

Short temper.
Sparrow has a very short temper and isn't afraid to show it. Make her angry, and you're up to face one annoyed Rune. She is most calm when among the thistles, and when she's not, you have to be careful around her. She has a prickly personality, but even so she would become a loyal companion once she gets to trust you.

Sparrow wrote:Sparrow let out an annoyed chirp as a raindrop hit her nose. It was raining, and she was trying to help Lemon get a bunch of thistles that were stuck on her shirt off. In return, Lemon said she would give Sparrow some gumdrops, her favorite and only " human made" food she would eat. Sparrow was soaked, but kept thinking about the gumdrops and continued picking the thistles off of Lemon. With the help of Sparrow, Lemon was soon completely free of thistles. Lemon then thanked Sparrow and dropped three gumdrops on the ground. Sparrow cocked her head and let out a angry chirp, puffing out her chest and spreading her wings, as if saying, "that's it?" and so Lemon dropped five more gumdrops on the ground. Sparrow nodded and began to eat the gumdrops as Lemon said goodbye and vanished into the trees. Suddenly, a crow flew down from the tree, trying to get at Sparrow's gumdrops. Sparrow chirped loudly, loosing her temper and charging at the crow, which cawed and flew away. Sparrow then at the rest of her gumdrops and then flew up into a tall tree to sleep.

Later, Sparrow was woke up by the same noisy crow. She lost her temper again, and angrily chased the crow that had awoken her from a sound sleep. The crow let out two loud caws before vanishing behind a tree. Sparrow, shaking her head, flew down and perched on a branch for a minute, and then flying off to look for a patch of thistles. When she found a nice big patch of them, she flew down and nestled into the thistles comfortably.

Cranky.
Sparrow can become very cranky at times. If she's waken up while she's still sleeping or she can't find any crab apples or mole berries, her favorite foods. Sometimes she even becomes cranky if the birds in the woodlands are being really noisy, or if it rains and she gets completely wet. She is for sure quite a cranky Rune, but enjoys life, and also is quiet and caring.

Sparrow wrote:Sparrow woke up cranky as ever, and the birds, who were being extra loud that day, were not helping. When Lemon brought Sparrow some gumdrops, Sparrow just flew away from a confused Lemon without even eating one gumdrop. Normally, Sparrow would never turn down a gumdrop, and also usually gives Lemon a chirp when she comes by. Today, she didn't do any of those things. Needing to calm down, she flew down to a creek and landed right in the water. She flapped her wings, sending water droplets flying, and chirped. Suddenly, she spotted a crayfish, and swiftly caught it. She ate it while still in the creek, and then when she finished it, splashed out of the water and went off to find some thistles.
Soon, she found a patch of them, sunlight streaming through the the canopy of trees surrounding the patch and onto Sparrow, quickly drying her off, making it easier for her to fly. She flew over to a pine tree and perched on the very top branch, spotting Lemon walking through the forest with the gumdrops. Sparrow jumped off of the tree and flew after Lemon, landing on her shoulder. Lemon jumped, but then relaxed when she saw it was Sparrow. She held out her hand, which had six gumdrops in it, and Sparrow ate them eagerly. It appeared that she was over her crankiness, and so Lemon said goodbye to Sparrow and left, vanishing into the trees, heading out of the woodlands. Sparrow simply spread her wings and flew up into a tree.

As the sun was starting to set, Sparrow went looking for some crab apples. She found some, but to her dismay they where all rotten and there was wasps swarming around one. She became cranky again as it started to rain as she searched for mole berries instead. She found some mole berries, grabbed a dozen of them, and flew off to a patch of thistles. She ate them, and then looked up as clouds passed over the moon and it began to rain even harder. Sighing, she curled up under a unusually large thistle, and started to drift asleep.

Protective of her items.
Sparrow won't let anybody but herself touch her bandanna and bangles. One time, and a very windy day, she lost one of her bangles. She spent all day searching for it, even though it was raining, and finally found it stuck to a thistle. She wears her items proudly and is always checking to make sure none of them has fallen off or gotten lost.

Sparrow wrote:Sparrow watched as Lemon emerged from behind a bush. "Sparrow?" She said, looking around. Sparrow flew down and perched on top of the bush. She chirped, and flapped her wings, flying onto Lemon's shoulder. Lemon held out her hand, which had gumdrops on it, and ate one. But suddenly, Lemon's finger rubbed against Sparrow's bandana, and Sparrow let out an angry chirp, puffed out her chest and spread her wings. What happened? Lemon thought in confusion. Sparrow was quite a mystery at times.
Sparrow watched as Lemon put the remaining gumdrops on the ground and walk away. She felt a little bad about how she just flew away from Lemon, but she hated when anyone even brushed their hand against on of her items. Sparrow flapped her wings and looked around. It was a sunny, warm day, though deep in the woodlands it was quite cool. Sparrow spotted a woodland vole looking for seeds, but instead found one of the gumdrops. Thinking that a gumdrop most likely wasn't good for a little vole, Sparrow flew down, nudging the vole with her wings toward some seeds, and ate the gumdrops so no other little animal would come along and eat them.

Sparrow glided just above the woodland's canopy. The mild breeze felt good, and Sparrow's bandana's were blown back gently. Suddenly, Sparrow felt something. She turned around to see her tail bandana had slipped off and was falling toward the ground. Sparrow folded her wings and dove after if, letting out an annoyed chirp as she was unable to get through the canopy of a large tree. She went over to a smaller tree and managed to get through it's canopy, but when she got down to the woodland floor she didn't see her bandana anywhere. Suddenly, a bush rustled, and Sparrow quickly flew up to a branch where she perched, and then relaxed as Lemon came out of a bush with... her bandana! Sparrow flew down and patiently waited while Lemon tied her bandana back onto her tail.

Caring.
Despite the rest of her personality, Sparrow is caring and loyal. She doesn't have anybody to be loyal to, though, and hopes to someday meet someone who she could be loyal to. She likes to lay and watch the sky as clouds drift, gently pushed by the wind, and likes to watch the birds that fly high in the sky, wondering if when she does get a friend or owner to be loyal to, they would like to sky gaze, too.

Sparrow wrote:Sparrow lay on her back, gazing up at the sky. Birds flew across it and clouds drifted slowly. Lemon was there, also gazing at the sky. "That cloud looks like a crayfish." Lemon said, pointing at a cloud that did resemble a crayfish. Sparrow flicked her tail and chewed on one of the gumdrops Spring had brought for her. She chewed the gumdrop slowly and then swallowed it, her mouth watering. Sparrow thought gumdrops were the only human food worthy of a Thistle Rune Dragon. Sparrow smiled and flapped her wings, but then suddenly it started to drizzle and the sky got cloudy. Lemon said bye to Sparrow and headed towards her home.
Sparrow went to wait out a storm in a tree, and was starting to drift off into sleep when she was startled by a frightened chirp. She looked down and saw that a baby woodpecker had been blown out of it's nest by the wind, that had picked up. She flew down, and rolled it over with her wing. Sparrow chirped, seeing that it was still alive, and took it back up to it's nest, but then she noticed it's wing was hurt. She pulled out a few of her own feathers, and lay them around the little woodpecker, who's wing almost immediately started to heal. Sparrow smiled, and then flew back down to her perch to wait out the storm.

Likes:
Her items.
Sparrow never takes off her items and would rather bite her own wings then take them off or let someone else wear or touch them.
Thistles and burs.
Sparrow loves and is almost always hanging around patches of thistles. The sharp thorns don't hurt her, so she can sleep, eat, and play among them with ease.
Mole berries and crab apples.
Sparrow's favorite foods. She loves the sweet, delicious taste of mole berries and the sweet and sour taste of crab apples. She can eat a dozen and more at one time.
Crayfish.
Sparrow loves the crunchiness of crayfish. She things they are absolutely delicious, and are her favorite food next to mole berries and crab apples. She loves to sit next to the stream and hunt one or two.
Sky gazing.
Sparrow loves to lay on her back and gaze at the sky and clouds as they slowly blow through the sky. She also loves to watch the different types of birds as they fly.
Gumdrops.
The only "human made" food she will actually eat without getting a disgusted look on her face. She loves how chewy and sweet they are, but not overly sweet and how they come in so many different colors and flavors.

Dislikes:
Heavy rain.
Sparrow doesn't mind a little rain, but if she's caught in the middle of the storm and gets soaked, she gets very cranky and annoyed, and has to sit in the a patch of sunlight to dry off.
Loud noises.
Sparrow gets annoyed if the birds are chirping loudly or too much, or if it's thundering a lot but not raining.
Flies. Sparrow finds the big, black flies very annoying. Just how they buzz around and suddenly appear while she's eating to try to get at her food. Sometimes she gets so annoyed with them that she tries to eat them, but doesn't find them very tasty.
Runes and people she doesn't know.
At the first sight of a human or other Rune, Sparrow flees and looks for a place to hide. However, one human who often comes into the woods does not appear threatening, and Sparrow might just someday approach her.
Being inside.
Sparrow hates being cooped up inside, at least for more then ten minutes. If she is inside for longer then that, she will become agitated and stare out the window. She needs to be able to glide through the cool night air, to hear the crickets as she falls asleep deep in a patch of thistles, and to hear the owls and night hawks as they hunt mice and other small rodents.
Television.
Sparrow hates most of human technology, but absolutely despises Television. If she is inside and the TV is on, she will try to attack until someone turns it off. The noise sort of hurts her ears, and the things happening on the screen sometimes make her dizzy. She is positively one TV hating Rune, who would rather eat human food (other then gumdrops) then watch five minutes of TV.

Why do you wish to have him/her:
Well, I love thistles for one, and my yard has quite a few of them! Even though they stick to you, and it's annoying to have to get them out of my real life dog's fur, I still love them. I like to walk in the woods by my house, and look for thistles. This rune is quite simple, but I think it is it's simplicity that drew me to it. I love simple characters and creatures, and this Rune is complex in it's own simple ways. I fell in love with it, and just had to try for it.
I have never tried for a Rune before, as none have caught my eye, but I have always wanted one, and when I saw this one, I immediately read it's description and filled out the form. I love the items, the colors, and design of this Rune. It's just so darling, and I see how much time you spent on this Rune, and I will try my best on my form, so hopefully I will be at least considered as this Rune's new owner. If I won this Rune, I would be ecstatic with joy. Thank you for the chance at getting this truly gorgeous Rune.

Where will you keep him/her:
I would proudly display her in my signature, make her a place in my character thread, but more likely I would make a special thread just for her. I would draw her, love her, and gaze at her day and night. I would pretty much keep her in my signature for a long time, but then give another character a spotlight in my signature for a while, and then switch back to her. Her thread would be tweaked and improved whenever I could, and I would try to get as much art of her as possible.
Would you like to breed him/her in the future:
If she finds just the right male Rune, who has a personality that matches hers, so I would say yes
Any Quirks:
Sparrow will collect a big bunch of mole berries or crab apples, mostly a bunch of a dozen mole berries or crab apples, and take them to a patch of thistles before eating them. She never leaves a single berry or apple behind, as she believes all food she has picked should not go to waste, though if there is a bird nearby she sometimes gives it a berry or two. Sparrow also likes the crunchiness of cray fish, and will go by a stream and try to catch one or two. Sparrow never takes more then she's going to eat, and respects nature. She is pretty good at hunting crayfish, and could catch a lot more if she wanted too, though she doesn't want to take all the crayfish in the stream, as other animals eat them too, such as raccoons and some birds, such as cranes and herons.

Sparrow's playfulness shows through when it does snow. She loves to jump headfirst into snowdrifts, flapping the snow off her wings and shaking it off of her head, before jumping in again. She repeats this about ten times before flying off to do something else, though usually goes back to the snowdrift later to play in it again. She normally only does this twice a day when it snows, sometimes three times. She loves snow, even though sometimes it makes thistle patches harder to find, as they often get buried under large snowdrift.

Sparrow also loves music. Once, Lemon brought a music box with her to show Sparrow, and now Lemon has to bring it almost everyday so Sparrow can listen to the soft, sweet, rhythmic melody. She doesn't dance or fly to the music, simply sits with her eyes closed and listens to it, often cracking a smile. However, once when listening to the Music, Sparrow opened her eyes and bobbed her head to the music, making Lemon grin. Maybe Sparrow was just enjoying herself, or being silly, but one thing for sure is that Sparrow does and always will love music

Other:
This is the story of when Sparrow first approached me

It was a windy day, and Sparrow kept checking her items to see if any had fallen off, but they hadn't. After a good breakfast of mole berries and a crayfish, Sparrow went out to stretch her wings. The wind suddenly picked up, and Sparrow realized she should land. She watched the forest below her for any signs of humans or other Runes, and then flew down and perched on the branch of a small tree. Sparrow suddenly herd rustling, and a human stepped out of the underbrush.
Sparrow tensed, but then relaxed seeing it was the same human who had been coming for walks in the woodlands for weeks, and even she had seen Sparrow, had not tried to capture or chase her, and Sparrow realized she was not a threat. Sparrow quickly flew out of the tree and over to the branch of a higher tree.
The human looked over, and up at the tree, seeing Sparrow's tail hanging over the branch. "Come down, I won't hurt you." The human said, not expecting Sparrow to fly down. Sparrow let out a sound that resembled a sparrow's chirp and flew down into the smaller tree. "Hello, little Rune." The human said. "My name's Lemon... well, that's my nickname anyway."
Lemon started to slowly walk over to Sparrow, who puffed out her chest a little, but allowed Lemon to walk up to her. "You're a pretty little Rune." Lemon said. Sparrow suddenly had a strong urge to fly onto Lemon's shoulder, but gripped the branch she was perched on tightly instead. Sparrow thought of how it would be if she had an owner, someone to be loyal to and take walks in woodlands with, and to collect herbs and look for thistles with. Sparrow spread her wings and Lemon took a step back, but the Sparrow flapped her wings and flew onto Lemon's shoulder, then got startled when Lemon moved, and flew into a tree. "I'll come back tomorrow." Lemon said, understanding that Sparrow was a wild Rune and hadn't ever perched on a Human's shoulder, at least not in a long time. Sparrow watched as Lemon vanished into the underbrush, and to her surprised, realized she was anxious for Lemon's return.

And here is a poem <3

Hiding among the thistle patches,
Immune to it's sharp thorns.
Searching for herbs and such,
in a woodland rain storm.
Annoyed, cranky, soaking wet,
finally finding a patch of Purple Basil,
to eat with some crayfish.
The storm stops,
the grass is wet and the ground is muddy.
Perfect for a Thistle Rune,
who leaves it's tracks in the mud,
as it searches for fresh herbs.

I also did some art :3

--The main computer I use wont allow me to use Oekaki so i cant really post anything of him until i get on a different one. So I just decorated as much as I could--

Owner Name:
dragoncool97
Name:
Carduus (it me Thistle in Latin)
Gender:
Male
Personality:
He is very serious at times making hard to make him laugh. Though that doesnt mean he isnt kind. He is extremely loyal to those he cares for and will often hold grudges on those who hurt or upset his loved ones. When he's around familiar faces he is more relaxed and happy and tend to play around more that he whould if there was a stranger in the room. All you need to do is show that you wont hurt his owner and he'll warm up to you quicker.
Why do you wish to have him/her:
He just had this tough-guy look to him and i thought maybe i could bring out his soft-side. (after all the only reason plants have thorns is to protect their soft spots from getting hurt).
Where will you keep him/her:
I'll keep him in my siggy and do some Oekaki's of him. I might even write a story about him if i get him.
Would you like to breed him/her in the future:
Probably yes though it wont be like right away.
Any Quirks:
He'll often make a huffing sound when he's trying not to laugh making him bounce a little.
Other:
"Come on Carduus you gotta laugh sometime" I said after i tried telling him a joke. He just looked at me as if i was speaking some strange language. I sighed and pat his head, "You are as hard to make laugh as it is hard to make a tree fall by yelling at it." I stood up and began to walk away when i heard a familiar huffing sound. i spun around and yelled, "AH HA!!" Carduus was there with a small smile on his face huffing and bouncing up and down. I went over and picked him up in my arms and began tickling his belly. "see? i told you i would get you to laugh eventually!" Sadly as soon as i said it Carduus stopped laughing and looked up and be like i was crazy. i sighed smiling, "yeah yeah you're a tough guy, but that doesnt mean i wont try again!" we spent the rest of the day playing around with me trying to get him to laugh and him shaking his head no. But i knew on the inside he was laughing. I KNEW it!

The Thistle Rune

I am the green of the forest that fills it with life,
The protecter of good, banisher of strife,
The rustle of my wings will heal any burn,
My blood alone makes sickness turn,
My family all gone all i have left is you,
If you are kind a friend I'll stay true.

Ok. I'll try out for this adorable Rune <3

Owner Name:
DracosCanine
Name:
WIP
Gender:
Female
Personality:
WIP
Why do you wish to have him/her:
Well...I see a pattern here...Think about this for a second: My darling Riki is the Ancient of Miasma or "Poison". A FAR stronger version of poison mind you, but still toxins. Then, i have the robust Assassin Haytham, who can slip in and out of places, buildings, and crowds unseen while also wielding a most accurate and deadly blade. If i am able to attract this Rune and befriend her, i shall have a Rune that has extreme healing properties. So, in that sense, I'll have a producer of fatal toxins, one who can carry and inject them, and one who would be able to cure them. Very progressive if you ask me. A good healer is always needed around a poison alchemist like myself and my dear Rikiel. Plus I think Haytham needs another Rune his size running around, he can be far too serious sometimes....
Where will you keep him/her:
Definitely close by at least. Especially when I'm working. You wouldn't believe how many times i've accidentally pricked myself or Haytham get himself with his own blade, as silly as that may seem ><.
Would you like to breed him/her in the future:
Most definitely! although...i'll have to ask her permission first...
Any Quirks:

Owner Name:snowyowl379
Name:Takiainen (it means burr in Finnish) Taki for short
Gender:Male
Breedable?:Yes, but picky
Personality: Takiainen is a funny little rune. He enjoys to hide your favorite things in little holes he digs, or in the nooks of trees. The worst was when he dropped my phone into a pond, and I had to fish it out. He is an outdoorsy rune, and does a lot of stuff with me, since I myself, enjoy outdoorsy stuff. We have gone kayaking, hiking, and he likes to help with my gardening. Although he often gets intoxicated by the smell of thyme and rosemary in my herb garden. He likes to read and write, but he often rips up his writing when he is done. he is almost like a dog when he begs for stuff I am eating. He also follows Daydream around, as if he knows she is going to get into some sort of accident. He helps those in need, and heals people that are sick. Sorry to say, but Takiainen is sort of dumb. He can't really think for himself, and sometimes gets into trouble because he can't figure something out. He is blind in one eye due to an accident with some hedge trimmers. Sadly, he could not heal himself when that happened. He is a wonderful little guy.
Favorites:
Favorite Movie:Toy Story 3
Favorite Song: None, hates music
Favorite color: Green
Favorite school subject: Gym
Favorite Animal: Leopard Gecko
Favorite Holiday: Arbor Day
Favorite Food: Greek yogurt

Why do you want him?: At first, I decided to wait for another rune when I got Daydream.
When I first saw this rune I thought nothing special of him, and moved on. But after looking at him for a while, his cute little bandanas, the rings on his feet and tail, and the pretty red marking on his wing, I decided that I wanted him. I think I could relate to his personality, being cranky and mean. Also, Daydream was looking lonely, and I wanted to give her a companion before I headed back to school, and would be having her at home for hours.
Where would you keep him?: In my siggy, and if I make a character thread, in there too.
Quirks:Even though he can heal the sick, Takiainen is a big germaphobe. Before he comes near a sick person, he will pull his bandana up over his nose, and rub hand sanatizer on his feet. He prefers to sleep outside on a maple tree in y yard. I even made him a little rune-sized hammock for him to sleep on. He also hides his favorite things in his abundance of fluff in his chest.
Fears: Like all Runes Takiainen has a few fears. Some of them are irrational, but I myself have weird fears. Here are the ones I've discovered:
Germs, toothpaste, batteries, butterflies, and brass.

The forest was deep, dark and mysterious. All the animals have their way of getting what they want, and they often bullied me to get at my things. I learned in the first month to stay high up in the trees, that way I could not be reached by any ground animals. But then the birds discovered my hollow, and started harassing me to move out. Unfortunately, I gave in, and flew away, but found a nice little burrow in the fields. I think the humans discovered me about a year after I moved in. I could see them watching me through the shrubbery. One day, they decided to approach me and my nest. One of the humans tripped and jammed a sharp rock into his knee. He wailed loudly for hours while the other humans tried to help. I eventually got sick of it, and decided to help him. I trotted over to the human, and yanked the rock out of his knee. He screamed, and attempted to smack me, but I dodged his hand just in time. I waved my wing over the injury about five times, and when I took my wing away, the wound was healed. all the humans looked at me in awe, as I walked back to my burrow. Suddenly, I felt a hand wrap around me, and I was lifted into the air. One of the humans was holding me, and the others were getting stuff out of their bags. I tried struggling free, but that only made the human tighten his grip. One of the humans took out a syringe, and stuck it into my wing. He filled it with my blood, and put the syringe into a plastic baggie. Another human took out another baggie, and filled it with all of the feathers from my left wing. They dropped me on the ground, and ran away.

Takiainen Wrote:
I had just flown into a maple tree in someone's backyard, when I heard a voice. " Who are you?" A rather small Rune had snuck up on me. She was wearing a nightcap, and looked rather sleepy.
"I am Takiainen, and you are?"
"Malki. I live in that house." She pointed over to a small cottage beyond the trees."My bearer and I live in that cottage. Who's your bearer? Maybe I know him."
"Umm... I don't have a bearer."
"Oh. Do you want one?"
"I don't know. It might be nice not to have to go scavenging for food. Just having someone bring it to you daily."
"Great! I'll go get my bearer. Maybe she knows someone who can adopt you!" Malki flew off to go get his bearer.
"Ugh, Malki what do you want! I was very busy!" Malki pointed to the tree that I was in. I flew down to meet his bearer. "Who is this?" I had landed on a lower branch so she could see me. But as she approached me, I freaked out, and scratched her hand. "Ouch!" And with that, she ran back to the cottage.
"Oh, you've really made her angry!" Malki said.
"I'm sorry...it was just an impulse for me." I started to approach Malki.
"Don't hurt me!" he said, and then flew back to the cottage.
Oh great. I thought to myself. After one bad experience, I've become an anti-social, malicious beast. Malki's bearer finally came back--but with a cage.
"Come here little guy! I've got some food for you!" I wanted to resist, but it had been days since I had eaten. I had to get that food. I swooped into the cage, where a pile of strawberries was waiting for me. Suddenly, the cage door slammed shut. "Now, time to get you to the adoption agency." I thrashed at the door, trying to break free, but it was no use. The door was latched tightly, and tied with a rope. I just had to wait and see where I was going. As the car putted along the dirt road, I started fidgeting with the bangles on my tail. It kept me from getting too nervous. We finally pulled up to a small brick building, that was damaged by age. We got out of the car, and Malki's bearer brought my cage in. She walked up to the front desk, and placed my cage there. She also took out a sticky note, and pasted it on my cage. "The adoption agency will find a good home for you." She murmured. Then she walked out of the agency, and within a few seconds, I could hear tires rolling along a gravel road.

Takiainen wrote:
It was a cold winter day in the forest. Most animals were hibernating, and the animals that were awake were very inactive. I thought this would make it a peaceful time for me to go on a quick flight around the forest. Man, was I wrong! A small market was going on in a clearing in the middle of the forest. All the animals were selling and trading there things. I thought it could be fun, so I flew back to my hollow, grabbed some trinkets I had found, and flew back to the market. The ground was bustling with customers, merchants shouting out deals, and people trying to barter with them. I managed to find an old tom cat who was selling some stuff from a previous owner. "Wow, look at all this stuff!" I said, examining each item with care.
"Yeah, my owners spoiled me rotten. Too bad I had to run away when I found out they were going to put me down."
"Why?"
"I don't know. Something about a leg injury. So one night, I just packed up my stuff, and ran away."
"Wow! Hey, how much do you want for those." I pointed to a set of silver and gold rings.
"Umm I don't know. Let's see what you got." I pulled out my bag-o-stuff, and let the tom examine it. "Ooh... how about this." He picked up a pair of goggles and put them on his face. "I have vision problems, and these really help me see."
"Sure, they're yours. And how about for these?" I pointed at a few pieces of torn red fabric.
"Just take 'em. Part of the goggle exchange."
"Thanks!" The tom gave me the rings and the fabric, and I put them into the bag I had brought. I headed back to my hollow, had having a lot of fun at the market, and looked at the stuff I had got. I took out the rings and the fabric, and put them on. I strung the bigger rings on my tail, and put the smaller ones on my feet. The bigger piece of fabric I tied around my neck, and the smaller one I tied to my tail. After a long day, I descended into a long, blissful sleep.

Re: Thistle Rune

Postby Beewings » Tue Aug 14, 2012 1:32 pm

Owner Name:
Beewings
Name:
Gretel
Gender:
Female
Personality:
.: Cautious :. .: Hot Tempered :. .: Polite :. .: Caring :. .: Skittish :.

~Gretel was very wary when we first met and even though she's still cautious, it seems she's getting used to me being around and often she stops on a branch to watch me more intently that I watch her sometimes.

~Another thing I've learned about Gretel is that she has a rather bad temper. I found this out while following her while she was flying around the trees looking for plants to use one day. She had landed on the ground about a yard in front of me in a clearing and I walked slowly over, not wanting to surprise her, and when I came to the clearing I couldn't finds her I walked around and out of nowhere she landed on my head and flapped her wings in my face and I had to take cover in the denser part of the forest until she calmed down. It turned out I had trampled a pile of leaves that she was colecting, but I was able to make it up to her by helping her find more of the plant.

~She's been oddly polite with me for a rune dragon, though I haven't met too many runes yet, and while I was looking for her in the woods she landed on a low branch that reached just above my head. I was surprised at first and then dumbfounded as she chirped out something that had to be a 'hello' or 'good morning' and waved her wing. After I waved back she nodded and turned around to fly off. When I left again she chirped again and waved her wing, I gave wave back and she seemed very pleased by this. We have continued this greeting ever since.

~Even with her hot temper she has a very caring side to her and she's gentle while using her caring for anything that’s been hurt. For instance, I tripped and cut myself on a fallen branch once while watching her fly around the tops of the trees. It was a big cut and she landed next to me quickly and inspected it. She hopped around and gathered some herbs quickly took care of the wound and while I let the herbs help heal my cut, when she had finished putting the leaves on, she jumped onto my lap and nestled herself into the side of my jacket and slept there until I had to get up and head home. She flew back to her nest and even though she never seemed to think much of it, I never forgot that little act of kindness she showed.

~Gretel tends to be very skittish and doesn't like to be surprised, but she's gotten a little better since I found her. I know that the reasons for her skittish ways are because of the people who have tried to capture her and take her feathers and her blood. But I’ve been able to keep an eye on her and make sure no one that means her harm ever touches her. I think that's the main reason she has grew a liking to me and has allowed me to follow her and watch her, she even let me stroke her several times one day.

Why do you wish to have him/her:
What really drew me to this dragon is just everything about her to be honest. I've seen rune dragons while looking through the forms and thought they were super cute but I wasn't sure if I should try to adopt one. This little dragon was so, different and I just had to try. A reason why, first off I love the color green and this rune is such a beautiful color. I feel very drawn to this rune because I've always been interested in plants and herbs for an odd reason that I can't explain. Also those beautiful yellow eyes caught my attention very quickly when I saw her.
Where will you keep him/her:
I would defiantly make room for her in my signature in a second if I actually got her.
Would you like to breed him/her in the future:
Yes
Any Quirks:
Gretel has very interesting little quirk, she collects red items. Anything red, she even snatched a red bracelet of mine once and hung it in her nest. I never got it back, she guards her little collection very fiercely and wont let anything near it. I was able to get her to trust me more by giving her a number of red items, from little red rocks to a red ribbon I had.
Other:
(Writing a small story or showing artwork may give you a better chance!)

A day with Gretel

I left my house and put on my backpack filled with anything that I might need while in the woods and I got on my bike and rode started the two mile trek to the woods. After crossing many streets and dodging people I rode onto a dusty path that lead into the forest. I finally stopped and set my bike against a tree and took a moment to catch my breath and then headed into the cool woods. I didn't take the already made path, but instead I walked into the bushes. After a ways I started to slow and look around, searching for a familiar sight, until my eyes caught something. I smiled and headed toward a large tree with a hole in the trunk just out on my reach. I whistled a little tune and after a moment Gretel stuck her head out of the hole and yawned.
"Good afternoon sleepy head." I said with a smile. Gretel stood at the edge of the hole and streached her wings, gave her chirp and wave and then glided down to me and landed on a rock. I nelt down and offered my wrist to her and she slowly stepped onto it, I had been able to convince her to do so which took weeks, and then she climbed up my arm and hopped on my head and I laughed. She went down my other arm and then jumped onto my knee and continued to search my pockets. I laughed again and held up my hands.
"I'm sorry Gretel, I didn't bring you anything." I told her but she only glared at me and hopped onto my backpack and unzipped it and climbed in. She rummaged around and I took off my backpack and carefully set it down and waited until she climbed out and held a bright red feather in her mouth. She set it down and gave me a look that said, 'Then what it this?' and I laughed.
"I was only jokeing Gretel," I told her, "I hope you like it." She happily picked up the feather and then flew up to her nest and I stood up to look in. She had countless red items that I had given her and I watched her tuck the feather into a crack in the wood and then looked back at me. I stepped back and let her come out.
"Don't worry Gretel, I won't take anything." I said and then picked up my backpack while she waited on the rock. Once I had everything ready I turned to her.
"Where are we going to explore today?" I asked and she gave a happy chirp and flew off.
