Owner Name:tiki11
Name:Nuri
Red Pandas are often called fire foxes, so I thought of the name Nuri, for him!
In Hebrew, the meaning of this name is, My Fire.
Gender:Male
Personality:Niru is very social, and hates solitude. In particular, he loves humans, (especially the food that adventures take in their backpacks) and often observes them from afar. When he senses a human that is pure of heart, he will approach. He would never hurt anyone, not even the tiniest ant. He is also very curious, and quite tenacious. He likes to observe human tools and machines, often imitating their sounds; he likes to try to figure out how they work. Nuri’s chiming laughter can make even the saddest of people laugh; he can get just about anyone to play with him! He never seems to take off his necklace though, whether he is sleeping, eating tinkering or flying about…
Why do you wish to have him/her:It was love at first sight, I adore his furry little ears, multicolored tail, fuzzy tummy, and just overall lovely appearance.
Where will you keep him/her:I will you keep him in my siggy for sure, definitely make a character thread (so that I can draw more of his home, the forest he lived in before he found your satchel).
Would you like to breed him/her in the future:If I could find someone as cute and cuddly as he is, then yes, of course!
Any Quirks:For some reason, he really likes scaling bamboo stocks. You can often spy him sitting on the very top during windy days (maybe he likes the breeze). Nuri hates spying from a distance, and prefers to be in the middle of the action. When he finds something that interests him, he will not hesitate to get a closer look. He can be a little reckless for this reason; his curiosity often gets the better of him! Someone spotted him once hanging by his tail upside-down on a low branch, face to face with a sleeping tiger! Apparently, he liked the tigers whiskers...
Story:Deep in the thick bamboo wood, high above the rummaging runes below, I watched.
"Is that you up there Nuri?" cried a farway voice.
"Yes, it's me. Do you know how beautiful it is up here? You can even see the human village!"
The orange rune on the ground below flew up awkardly through the branches, minding his way around the bamboo stocks and leaf sprouts.
"You're always going on about those darned humans and their gizmos! Don't you know Nuri, that they're dangerous!"
"Only if you don't know what to do around them Chekori! I've even heard that there are some runes down at the village that help people, gosh I'd love to meet one... one day...."
Chekori shook his head in disgust,
"One day, you'll get yourself killed by one of those machines, or those... humains..."
Not a moment later, a scream peirced the air.
"What in the world was that?!" exclaimed Chekori.
"I bet that somerune in the village got hurt! I must go down to see..."
With a determined look, Nuri flung himself down from the bamboo stock and thrusted open his wings, leaving Chekori alone, bewildered.
As Nuri edged closer to were he had heard the scream, he began to notice a strange smell his nostrils. The cloying mettalic scent, he realized, of blood.
"Is anyone hurt out there?!" shouted Nuri.
He heard a soft whimper to his right. Lying in a pool of blood lay a woman. A small girl to be exact, who wore a bracelet with a glowing purple bead attached. A girl who had obviously injured her leg badly.
He neered ever closer to her face, until they were nose to nose. Slowly, the girl opened her sad blue eyes. Upon seeing Nuri, she suddenly let out a sharp gasp, which terrified him to the point where he himself fell over backwards!
The young girls eyes pleaded Nuri to help her. She motioned to her leg, sobbing hysterically, pointing and wagging her finger down a path and spouting noise. Sowly, Nuri began to understand her hysterics.
"Do-do-do you want me to go to the village? Is that it?" stammered Nuri.
The girl shook her head quickly, a sign Nuri recognized as meaning yes.
Nuri took off down the path to the village as fast as he could fly.
He flew right into the first human he saw, a young man, who was digging into the flesh of the earth with a long shiny and pointy tool. Doing the first thing that came to his mind, he annoyed the man by squaking, and flying around the mans head, until he gave chase. Nuri led the him down the path, until they reached the girl, who was graying and withering already. The man looked at Nuri, and then down at the girl in disbelief and shock.
"I will follow you so that I know that she is safe." chimed Nuri.
The humans seemed to know what he meant. The man swiflty carried her down the path to the village, where a whole flock of humans waited. It seemed that the girl had been missed by many.
Days passed, and Nuri visited the blue eyed girl, who was growing in strength every day. They made eachother laugh. She showed him her tools, and he would make her laugh by doing little, silly things. She bestowed him with a gift, the bracelet she wore the day he saved her. He wears it still, proudly, a reminder of the day, he saved a gentle soul.
