"As much as I love the costume, Owen," Arceus said in a monotone voice while staring at the wolves who stood before him, "I don't think vampires have claws. Who let Owen have a dangerous costume again? We talked about this, all of you."
There was blank stares and no response to the wolf, their words starting to echo off the walls and making them seem even louder than they originally were. Someone silently took the fake enlarged claws away from Owen with a thankful nod from everyone else, the sailor remaining quiet. They were all donned in their costumes, standing in the dimly lit backyard owned by Davey and Dave. Arceus stood on a milk crate, looking down at everyone else, their white fur shining in the darkness. The gaggle of wolves before them remained silent. Arceus sighs deeply before waving their paw dismissively.
"Okay, we got our buddy system, yeah? George, you're with Pollard and I'm expecting you to not try any funny business, Matthew and Mickey are with Owen, I'm with Gavin and Reese is with Seth. Reese, don't look at me that way, maybe if you weren't trying to use your phone flash to blind people things would be different."
"How many times do I have to say I'm sorry? It was an accident, I swear! It's Pollard's fault for saying I was shocking the daylights out of him! Not my fault for him being insane!"
Pollard immediately barks back in defense, "That's a slur and you know it! Don't be mean, Reese!"

Arceus huffs and silences everyone, glaring at them all. Matthew kind of shrugs before drawling out,
"Listen, folks. Don't get your britches in a bunch and calm down. We'll all have a fun night if we drop this mist of anger that's lingering among us. Just remember the ground rules, all. Don't drop stuff in anyone's drinks or potions, stay with your buddy, and remember- there ain't no secrecy, and no keepin no secret from anyone else. If we're all good then lets go!"
All the wolves nodded in agreement, Owen giving a hoot before getting flicked at the back of the head by George, the groups heading out for another year of trick or treating.

AN: the two daves as main characters arent a go ever again

Who dressed up anymore ? Everyone in his friend group, apparently. Even with the darkness he could pick out who was who; and all of the people back there were people he talked to daily. He couldn't decide if they had all been blackmailed into this or not. Maybe they were doing this to feed their candy needs ? Did any of them have a candy need. Davey felt the corners of his lips dip down in a frown. Out of all backyards, why his ?

Davey felt the need to let Kid out. There was no going back now. Time to find the giant dog.

"Kiiid ? Kid where are you." he took a step away from the window and listened, waiting for the thumping sounds that told him Kid was coming. The footsteps never came and he narrowed his eyes; where was the dog ? Better yet, how does one lose their own dog indoors ? Davey decided to whistle softly this time, and thats when he got a muffled voice of some sort. From the bedrooms maybe ? He didn't know; either way, he should probably go look there anyway... one day. Davey called the dogs name again.

The thumping actually scared him; he didn't expect it. He also didn't expect kid to run out covered in (what he assumed was) flour with a pink tutu and painted nails, claws, whatever. Then came the wondrous person he loved; looking just as wrecked as his dog. Davey ignored Kid jumping up on him to quirk a brow at Dave, sunglasses not covering his eyes for once. He was coated in (confirmed) flour and had some red blotches here and there. Nail polish, Davey guessed, because Kid's nails were red and leaving fine little dots of color on his shirt.

"I mean, you called him and he freaked out so I said to hell with it. He's supposed to be a... something. Was gonna say vampire but I'm pretty sure I don't even know what I did." Davey rolled his eyes a bit. Dave had tried, he'd give him that. It wasn't easy to dress up a giant rottweiler was it ? Probably not. Kudos to Dave Strider.

"Regardless of the mess that has become of my," Dave's glare made him wince slightly, "... of our dog, I wanted to ask; did you let them use our background for their annual Halloween Cult meeting ?" Davey watched Dave pause and consider who "them" was in the sentence, before snapping his fingers and locking his red eyes onto Davey. "Yeah actually, said they needed a place of secrecy and deception, where they can make their dark dreams come true. Spells and a potion or two y'know ? "

Shocking. Dave gave away their backyard to a group of people that could destroy a whole nation.

"Did it boost your ego for the backyard when they said they needed a secret place to do their bidding ? News flash; Dave, those people are insane."

    Dave paused.

"Actually they promised me all their red M&Ms."

With Julia, it wasn't all that shocking that she often went on spooky adventures with Peer. She herself did have claws after all and had appeared strange to others sometimes. Peer had come to her one Halloween night saying that he had found a secret cave with incredible caverns and supposedly vampire bats. Entering the cave, there were echos of the sounds of their steps freaking them out. It was quite silent and pretty insane to them. The darckness had taken over making it hard to see. Luckily Peer had brought a flashlight. He turned it on and it suddenly made a flash of light then appeared to die on them. By now a mist had appeared covering the ground below them. Julia was quite concerned, scared that someone might come out and have them drink a potion of some sorts causing them to blank out and soon find themselves in a gingerbread house over a fire. Though her imagination did get the best of her, she tried to stay calm through the entire journey. Peer had finally decided that they shouldn't go any deeper and to return home. This was definitely a Halloween Julia won't soon forget though.

Scotty never really enjoyed haunted houses.

Yet here he was, his little sister tugging his hand as she pulled him to the entrance, the sounds of screams ringing in his ears and the cold wind leaving goosebumps on his arms. She shows no signs of cowardness, and she puffs out her chest, looking towards the house bravely. On the opposite spectrum stood Scott, who shudders at just the hiss of the door opening and fear striking through his body at the first sign of a jumpscare. The younger one squeals excitedly, almost going to prod the zombie’s protruding ribcage, only to be told by Scott they weren’t allowed to touch the monsters of the house. She grumbles, squeezing his hand as to signal him to go forward, the zombie still lurking behind him as they enter another room. It stays still for a moment; crimson fog enters rapidly the next, and it leaves a strange smell in the room and his eyesight blinded by red, coughing as his sister grins from ear to ear and pulls him through again. Everything is too overwhelming, and Scott closes his eyes, only to jump out of his skin at the loud shriek in his ear of the next monster, yet his eyes remain closed as not to see what exactly scared him. His sister flicks his hand with her free one, telling him to open his eyes, and he only does once they enter the next room.

The next room is dimly lit, and a cauldron sits in the middle. His sister lets go of his hand to curiously examine the cauldron, but ends up falling backwards as a witch pops out, the fog exuding out of the cauldron and the witch waving her hands wildly. Scott reacts quickly, picking his sister up and away to safety from the witch; she cackles, lowers her body into the cauldron, and prepares for her next victims as they enter the next room. It’s as cold as ice; his teeth chatter, and he gently places his sister back on the ground. It proves to be a grave mistake, as he watches from the corner of his eye a mummy emerging from a tomb. His sister pushes him towards it, and he comes face to face with the mummy, its glowing red eyes staring into his own. He shrieks, hits the floor, and covers his eyes. His sister giggles at the sight, though only temporarily as the mummy tumbles forward for her, to which she quickly pulls on Scott’s shirt to hurry up and out of the room. He eagerly obliges, already done with the haunted house, and scrambles out the room following his sister. The cool wind of outside greets him, and he sighs gratefully, happy to have ended such a nightmare of a house.

His sister seems to have the same idea, and she offers him a chance to go pick out pumpkins to carve. He agrees; finally, something he definitely enjoys.

#ketchup #halloween #reesewhy #stop

Reese absolutely adored Halloween with all his heart. The moment September rolled around the young RPW started collecting his hoard of decorations, more than ready to strike fear into the hearts of anyone who came by. There was something fantastic hearing a shriek come from an unsuspecting wolf who came across his demon Quentin.
The wind picked up a bit and ruffled his fur, tossing the fog around that was being produced by a machine that was in the shape of a cauldron. Reese hid behind one of the large trees by the walkway in a ominous tomb decoration while Gavin was nowhere to be found. The wolf figured he may as well attempt to scare his boyfriend, so he got up and started to creep around his yard in attempt to find him. One of his demons gave a light hiss in Reese's ear, him suddenly noticing a patch of sparkly blue and green paint on the ground. He decided the best way to scare Gavin would be an old prank of his, and so he quietly headed back inside the house.
The smell of Rin's good cooking wafted from the kitchen and every now and then you could hear Toby running ice back and forth to his uncle. There was a plethora of things that were almost carelessly littered across his house, including some fake zombie remnants that didn't make the cut and spooky pictures. Reese grabbed something from the dining room and booked it back outside, sneaking around to get to Gavin again.
After a moment he grinned, hearing a squirting noise and a scream from Gavin.
Angered, Gavin looked back at Reese; his boyfriend sat covered in crimson colored ketchup, leaving Reese to giggle and run off.

Esker decided he needed to get away until he could think of a plan. The closing costume store was the closest hiding place Esker could think of. He busted through the door and looked around. There were still unpurchased items in the store. YES. With fear, he scrambled and jumped behind some crimson silk curtains. But his paws- his paws! It could see his paws! He quickly realized this after he felt a presence in the room. Esker peeked behind the curtains. Minnesota was there, back turned. But he was even more different now, looking more transparent.
Esker decided it was now or never, so he sprinted out from the curtains and past the zombie props, but knocked over a few plastic cauldrons. He arrived inside a spooky play-house for pups. He realized that he did not want to be carried off into his tomb just yet, since this is would not be good because it'll be hard to exit when escaping a raging demon. He peered out a now-opened plastic window and saw Minnesota sniffing around. Esker's looked down, and back up. A split decision lead him to turn on a fog machine. Minnesota looked straight at Esker with an icey glare and shrieked. The machine made a whistling hiss as it's fan also turned on to create a small wind currents for the fog. The spirit possessing Minnesota screamed with fear, not knowing it was harmless. Esker bounded for the back doors, and he was off!

Elissa stuck her head out of the door, she could swear she heard a long, quiet hiss. She stepped out into the night, her paws touched the ice-cold grass which had small dew drops from a previous storm, which soaked her paws. She fed her curiosity, what was wrong with a little adventure.
"Kitty kitty" Elissa said, clicking her tongue and stepping farther from her home since she could barely see five feet in front of her in the fog. After walking through a few people's yards, looking slightly dumb while she investigated to find where the noise came from, she heard a loud shriek. She felt her blood run cold, as fear struck her. She sprinted through her neighbor's yard, though she could hardly see.
"ARGH!" Elissa let out a grunt as she fell over a cauldron lawn decoration and slammed into the ground, the wind knocked out of her. She shivered slightly, the wind chilling her as she got up. She looked around, before going back to sprinting to her home, which didn't take long. She jiggled her door handle, realizing she had locked herself in. Her gaze went over the fence. She reluctantly jumped over it, and let out a small nervous laugh. She guessed she was just being paranoid, what did she expect? A tomb to suddenly erupt from her backyard, with a zombie trying to eat her leg? She laughed again, before entering her house from the back door. She closed the door and wrapped herself up in her crimson red blanket and continued reading as she had been doing before she went on her "adventure".

    {{ I hope this is fine ^^ }}

A shriek from within the darkness had Glitch’s fur bristling with fear; her heart rapidly pounding within her chest and her bright blue eyes widening as she looked around the dark room. Oh how she hated Tallis for luring her into the haunted house; never again would she follow the smug fool.

Trying to push aside her fear, she started forward. The eerie creak of floorboard beneath her paws had the small wolf flinching; but she froze only moments later as she felt a cold breeze against the back of her neck. She prayed it was just her mind playing tricks on her; or even just the wind. She peaked over her shoulder; nearly leaping out of her skin as a figure wrapped in bandages emerged from within a tomb; groaning and reaching out for her like a mindless zombie.

Glitch immediately turned and fled; wrenching open the closest door and slamming it shut behind her. The new room was dimly lit and much colder than the previous room; with a cauldron in the centre – its contents glowing faintly. As she moved closer to investigate; she noticed the layer of fog that hovered just above the ground, and as she moved, it swirled around her paws.

As she peered into the cauldron, she was a little disappointed to find that it only appeared to be dyed green water, filled with ice, with lights installed into the bottom to create the glowing effect. With a shrug; she exited through a different door. When she pushed open the door, she almost slammed it shut again after catching a glimpse of what laid inside. The walls were stained crimson; as if blood has been splattered across them.

Swallowing her fear she entered the room, and quickly moved through it – desperate to leave. As she approached the next door; she heard a quiet hiss on the other side and the sound of scraping claws against the door. Glitch immediately scrambled away from the door before her with a frightened yelp.

The door swung open seconds later; and Glitch let out a scream as the large bandaged figure appeared before her again. However, there were no groans or hisses coming from it – instead; laughter. A laughter that she recognised immediately.

Glitch jumped at them; grabbing hold of the bandages and pulling – ripping at them till the face of Tallis stared back at her; his expression all smug and proud. He laughed again. β€œOh, you should have seen your face!”

She only glared at him and proceeded to re-wrap his muzzle; preventing him from laughing anymore as she stalked off to find the exit.

"Kai, Kai come on, hurry up, we're gonna miss all the good parts! I don't want to have to wait again!"
Kai watched his sister bound ahead, tail twitching as they came up to the front of the line to the haunted ride, the wind gave a hiss as it grew stronger, and soon, the pups were inside the ride and in the carriage they had been set to - which looked like an old tomb.
Kai tried to settle his nerves, and the fear that shivered down his spine. But as the ride started with a jolt, carrying them away from the entrance and into the house...he couldn't back out now.
Fog covered the view of the two pups, before there was a bang, a realistic looking zombie with crimson eyes on a slab of cardboard jumped out from the side, causing Kai to hold back a shriek, although it was very clear the pup was not enjoying this as much as his sister, who was staring ahead and admiring the work of the ride.
At the end of the ride, it plummeted down, much like a rollercoaster, and the pit they entered designed after that of a cauldron with a sticky green substance - luckily neither got it on them, or their parents might actually kill them for that.
It took a moment for Kai's heart to slow down, for him to calm and to notice that the ride had stopped, an employee staring at him, eyes the colour of ice.
"Ride's over, get off already."
