Field is an adoption that is based upon building a battalion to fight a monster, known as "The Great Beast", and its minions. Although it is based on war, there is no gore and hefty topics are avoided entirely. Building your battalion is not required, but you will be very restricted if you do not. (Sorry, the general needs soldiers.) There is no base line for adopts, so things could get interesting with different artists' styles. However, there are only three species available in Field; wolves, winged wolves, and foxes. Their lines will not be anything beside that except for special events.

The General stands before your battalion, "recruits, it is, as they say, 'spooky time.'" His words earn a few snickers of laughter, but he continues. "Feel free to dress up, carve pumpkins, and go out there to earn yourself some treats. He pauses, or tricks, don't let your guard down, soldiers!" Although his words are mildly confusing, The General seems to be in a good mood, so you decide to take advantage of it.

If you want to adopt and you don't yet have a commander, you can adopt anyone as your commander. Just write "Commander" under "Rank" in any adopt and don't forget to make an archive for your battalion.

My paws walk silently upon the earth, never touching the ground. The world moves through me,
not I through it. I have but one thought on my mind. I can help. The curse of my never
ending existence has ended recently. I can now be heard, I can now be seen, at my will, not by
the will of the universe and its cruel tricks. I know where I am going, and nothing can stop me,
perhaps not even my own self. I am on a course of destruction, either to myself or the the great beast
that has plagued those that are still living. My plan is for it to be the later, not the first, but come
what may. Either way I find myself dead, but perhaps if it is me that is destroyed, I will find peace.

I come upon their quiet camp, the moon at its peak. I enter with barely a whisper of wind to suggest
my ghostly presence. Their leader is awake and watches me with little thought in his eyes. I walk
forward and we talk quietly. He accepts me quickly and readily, along with a rank all to my own. He
calls me a special, for that is what I am. I have many missions ahead of me. He wakes his second in
command, who eyes me wearily. They talk together, heads bent closely. The smaller one's eyes flash
over to me every other second, and I pretend that I cannot hear them. The leader nods his head and
turns to me, inviting me into their conversation. He speaks quickly, and I understand his words more
than he knows. The smaller one does not trust me. He wants to hear my story, to prove myself.

I had been a warrior in my time, a timid small soldier that only spoke when words were given to me,
barely raising my head. I often sat in fear of the world, keeping to myself as an attempt to build
confidence. But instead I grew great superstitions within myself, and I could feel my heart was heavy
with the weight of my beliefs, as silly as I believed they were. Then, my first battle came, along with
my first kill. I stared in horror at what I had done, even though it was right, even though it was fine.
They were the enemy, I was only doing my job. But every night I was plagued by the ghost of my rival.
I told my comrades, they laughed at me. But I was right in the end. The ghost cursed me, told me that,
when I died, I would be a ghost too. That, when I was a ghost, I would be stuck to this world for a
hundred years, eighty more than his own sentence. That, once that time was done, I could interact with
this world, for only a year, then would be gone. This is now my last year, I will make it count.

The little one still seems weary of me, but I've won my acceptance. I don't know when the rest of the
battalion will come to know me, but I know my job. That is all that matters. I will defeat the beast.
