how'd they meet their bud?;
Earwyn and his friend, whom he named Kelby, met on one of Earwyn's many adventures. Earwyn was exploring an abandoned underwater mineshaft when suddenly, Kelby appeared out of no where. He was carrying a large treasure chest that presumably had the treasure Earwyn was searching for. At first, Earwyn was scared, but soon realized that Kelby wasn't hostile. After some negotiating, Kelby decided that if Earwyn were to get the treasure, Kelby would be allowed to go everywhere with him by being attached to him. Earwyn took the offer, and ever since their encounter, Earwyn and Kelby have been going on adventures together in the deep sea. [107/150]

No matter how much you tell him, Marlow assumes any sort of place like a zoo or aquarium is an animal prison. So, he takes it upon himself to be the "messiah" of all captive animals that are supposed to be out in the wild.

Marlow's first act of 'righteousness' happened when he went to the nearest aquarium and took an octopus at night. Obviously a crime, Marlow marked it as his first act of salvation and named the octopus Kyle since he liked it. Well, this led to that and eventually Marlow was banned for every aquarium and zoo across the country even though he was never found.

Even though he never got the chance to 'rescue' more animals, he's quite happy with Kyle and frequently takes Kyle out for 'walks' in the ocean! He enjoys the company of the aquatic critter very much even though Kyle never talks.
