 A Ridgeback Hyena is a member of the Hyaenidae family primarily found in East Africa. Much like its cousin, the aardwolf, Ridgeback Hyenas feed on insects to sustain themselves. It is the second largest member of the Hyaenidae family, surpassed only by the spotted hyena. However, this is where the similarities between Ridgeback Hyenas and other hyenas end.

 Ridgeback Hyenas exhibit a far more friendly and approachable personality compared to its cousins, allowing them to be tamed and turned into loyal housepets. They get their names from the characteristic "ridge" of fur running down their backs, but perhaps their most notable feature are their wacky colours and the "mist" excreted from openings by their ribs and on their backsides. It is believed to be caused by consuming toxic waste dumped into the waters that they drink from. This mist is in no way harmful to the hyena or those around it, and appears to be solely cosmetic.

    Hello there, thank you for stopping by! If you want to breed your hyenas, this is the place. Take a seat, fill in the paperwork and let us take care of the rest.

:: HOW DOES IT WORK?

  1. One of the parents' owners fills in the breeding request.
  2. The other parent's owner posts after them, confirming they both want the breeding. There's no need for this if you own both of the hyenas. Obviously.
  3. One of the artists claims the ticket. The number of babies in the litter (either 1 or 2) is up to good ol' random.org.
  4. What happens with the babies once they're done is up to the parents' owners to decide. They can be kept by one of the owners, gifted or put up for adoption.
  5. There is no limit to how many times a hyena can breed in their lifetime. However, there is a 1 week cooldown after each breeding.
  6. Gay couples are unable to breed, however they can adopt a "wild" cub unrelated to any other adoptable. If you wish to do so, fill in the form, ignore hex codes and add a note about it being an adoption.
