LUX LACERTI, more commonly referred to as simply "LUX", are lab created hybrids. In response of the growing number of casualties, both human and animal, on the battlefield resulting from landmines, scientists at the N.C.S. (Noble Center of Sciences) decided that there had to be a way to solve this... and thus Lux were created.

LUX may only be the size of your typical medium dog - however Lux are much, much more than that. They are created from the joining and splicing DNA from wild northern wolves, komodo dragons, alligators and jellyfish. An odd mix? maybe. But Lux inherited very, very important aspects from each of those species that are critical to what they were designed for.

jellyfish - bioluminescence

Lux have extra strong scale plating on their chest that lights up to guide their path at night and in low light. This lets the lux see the ground clearly exact in front of where it is going. Their incredibly strong sense of smell helps them detect explosives from afar, but even in the worst case scenario, if a Lux accidently stumbles upon an explosive and it goes off, the Lux will be completely unharmed, even if it was standing right on top of the blast, all thanks to it's armor. They also use this advantage in the field by running ahead of their handlers to set off anything that lays in their path, often this is done through unpredictable mind-fields to clear a safe path.

After much of the war was over, handlers that had worked with Lux and got to see their behavior, decided that they would make decent household companions. Over time, they have been far more domesticated - to the point where they will seek out humans and their affection, far different from the first Lux whose bloodline was wild and undomesticated. They now are not only found on battlefields, but more often locally.

GENERAL RULES
i Lux Lacerti are a closed species meaning only staff can create them.
ii Respect is a must, to both Lux staff as well as community members.
iii Please refrain from spamming or advertising other adopts. pm me for affiliates.
iv No selling/buying Lux for gain (points, pets, c$).
v As of right now no trading Lux Lacerti.
vi Tell either myself or the artist of the specific Lux if you want to trade it/readopt it.
vii You may only own 3 Lux right now since they are still developing - this number will go up.
viii You may edit the expression of a Lux only slightly - no changing beyond that.
ix They can be any sexuality, mate with any gender and can have multiple partners.
x Lux can be bred 3 times within their lifespan, a period of 2 weeks between each.
xi No whining or complaining if you do not win a lux.

ARTIST/STAFF RULES
i You are not an official artist until you get a message from the owner (me).
ii Rarities must be released according to their rarities - more commons than rares, etc!
iii Please post at least 1 adopt per week, however I understand if that may not be doable.
iv Pm the owner (me) if you will be going away or can't meet your adopt quota!
v I am aware rarities are kind of broad, pm me if you have any questions regarding edits/rarities!
vi Please keep the numbers in order when posting a new lux.
vii You may earn a staff custom after you adopt out 10 lux.
viii You can redeem your custom or a common, or save up for something bigger!
ix Stylization is fine and doesn't count as an edit to make the lines thicker/thinner!
