describe a day in their life; {[ 2/5 Art Pieces ]}9:30 and ??:??, couldn't make more due to my computer screen cracking cri.
Kitsure will wake up at around 6:40, she is a rather early riser (considering the time she falls asleep you have to wonder whether or not she really processes anything in the morning) and this is the time that Kitsure will be an absolute monster to anyone around her.
She will however be as apologetic as can be when she recovers from her grumpy mood.

      ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ ( 6:00AM ) ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯

In a flash, she was up.

Rennie went through her daily routine like a tornado. Her hair was a disheveled mass as usual, but today, it didn't matter how she looked. She didn't even process the granola bar that was crammed into her face before she slung her bag over her shoulder and headed out.

"Get 'em, Ren," her mother whispered with a wink before shoving her daughter out the door.

Outside, students of Rennie's age were all dashing toward the high school. Everyone she saw - including herself - had chosen to don camo and black for their outfits. Rennie wrung a hand through her hair and took a deep breath before beaming. I'm planning on winning today.

Rennie's time in high school up to senior year was full of laughing like a dying horse, pulling all-nighters, and crying hysterical tears. Today, all of that would be overshadowed and forgotten. Classes were finally over at her high school, but the seniors had one job remaining.

The students quickly pooled into the wide expanse of grass by the school. Luckily for Rennie, she spotted the one person she needed most today.

      "Bri! Over here!"

Umbrielle looked up to see Rennie and raised a brow. The purple-haired girl was always the quiet type and initially hated Rennie, but Rennie had forced herself into Bri's life years ago. The two were inseparable as friends - much to Bri's distaste, although Rennie knew that Bri didn't really hate her. Rennie smiled smugly at the thought.

"Are you ready?" the red-headed girl asked, her tail swishing excitedly. Before Bri could respond, a loud voice cut through the din.

"Listen up, losers!" The senior class president, a petite and loud-voiced girl, stood at a podium on the grass. "The fourth annual Senior Prank Paintball Tournament is about to begin! Or as some call it, Spit!" Quietly, a boy behind the president tapped her shoulder and whispered something into her ear.

"Okay, it's not called Spit. The tournament's name is actually shortened to SPPT. But, well... same thing. I'm going on a tangent here. Anyway, before you start mauling each other, here are some ground rules.

"No tackling each other - don't let last year's incident happen again. You may only shoot paintballs, and you must shoot the red target on a player's chest for them to be out. Also, if you run out of paintballs, there are replenishments in the school's main lobby... but remember that you are vulnerable there."

The president held up a paintball gun and smiled sweetly. "I will be in the main lobby. I suggest bringing backup if you wish to pass.

"You may have a max of four people on a team, but only two people can win this tournament. Choose your teammates wisely."

Rennie's gaze flicked towards Bri. The two of them had decided long ago that they would partner for this tournament. They had agreed to not team up with anyone else - after all, only two can win.

"Lastly, if five hours pass before everyone is out, there will be a twenty-minute sudden death where the last contestants will be gathered in the parking lot. If there are still more than two contestants remaining after time is up, the two contestants with the most amount of "kills" will win. You can see your kill count on a special watch that will be given out.

"As for the prize, I'm sure that many of you know. The two winners of the tournament will receive tickets to any concert of their choice and two nights at a five-star hotel... including massages." Many students hollered after hearing that.

"I have red targets, watches, and paintball guns already full of ammo here. Please securely tape the target on your chest and do not hide it, as that is cheating. When I say go, you have five minutes to grab your gear and run.

      "Ready... set.... go!"

      ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ ( 7:50AM ) ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯

      "Go!"

Umbrielle's head whipped to face Rennie as she mouthed the words, Secure the roof - I'll get extra paintballs! The two dashed to grab their gear and winded past other students. Others were likely also headed toward the roof, but Rennie was already in the lead. Her arms pumped by her sides as the adrenaline rolled in.

Rennie sped up flights of stairs until she opened the door to the roof and locked it behind herself. A few moments later, someone tried to open the door, but they cursed and left after realizing the roof was already occupied. Rennie paused to catch her breath and waited for Bri.

A minute later, there was a light rapping at the door. "Rennie, it's Bri." Rennie opened the door to reveal her friend holding small bags of extra paintballs. The two clipped the bags to their pant waists and sighed in relief.

"Good thing we can run fast, huh?" Rennie said with a grin while squinting at her phone, which had a glare on the screen from the sun. "We have... one more minute of peacetime. Phew."

Rennie yawned and eyed her paintball gun while Bri scoped out the area. Most students had chosen to stay outside in the cover of the numerous monuments and trees around the school. After all, the hallways inside weren't very useful when dealing with far range paintball guns.

The sound of an airhorn cut through the air. "Peacetime is over! In five hours, there will be sudden death in the parking lot!" someone shouted into a megaphone.

All hell broke loose below as teams started hunting down other teams. Bri spotted multiple teams of four. If you want to wipe out teams quickly, I guess a team of four is good... but in the end, it's stupid.

"We could probably wait everyone out until the end," Rennie chirped, sitting up and moving away from the edge of the rooftop after realizing that she might be spotted. "By then, most will have run out of paintballs and will fight it out in the main lobby. The president will probably take them all out."

Of course, Rennie would offer the lazy way out. Bri shook her head. "We can't wait forever. Remember that if we make it to sudden death, we'll both need lots of kills."

Rennie stretched before abruptly picking up her gun and smirking. "All right. Then let's rack up kills early, shall we?" Bri's face was full of shock as Rennie started sniping students from the rooftop. A few shot back, but their paintballs missed her.

"Rennie! If you do that, everyone will know where we are!" Bri hissed.

"Whatever. Someone already knows that we're on the rooftop," Rennie replied, shrugging.

      "What?"

"Someone knocked on the door earlier. I wouldn't be surprised if they spread the word."

Bri pressed a cupped a palm around her face and groaned. "Dammit, Rennie," she sighed. Rennie giggled, and Bri couldn't help but crack a smile.

"Let's just hope that no one knows how to pick locks," Rennie said before returning her attention to the students below. Bri nodded and scooted up to sit next to her before doing the same. No matter how begrudging she was, Bri had to agree that sometimes Rennie's plans were... decent.

      ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ ( 9:00AM ) ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯

Collectively, Rennie and Bri had roughly forty "kills," but there were still lots of students roaming around. At least a hundred more, Rennie thought, frowning.

"Why do the school grounds have to be so big?" the red-haired girl whined, moving away from the rooftop edge and slumping.

Bri rolled her eyes. "Would you prefer to have less room, resulting in you getting trampled by taller students all the time?"

"Hey! Don't diss my size. Five feet and two inches is a very good height." Rennie put a hand on her head and pouted.

"I would disagree," Bri said, smirking. After all, Bri was another head taller than her friend, and most called her model-worthy for her height.

Rennie was too lazy to argue, so she closed her eyes and stayed silent on the ground. "Are you... sleeping?" Bri asked, staring at Rennie with a mixture of exasperation and amusement.

Rennie said nothing and turned over before snoring lightly. The purple-haired girl sighed and rested her back against the rooftop door. "I guess it's a good way to pass the time." She glanced at her watch before slowly nodding off.

      ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ ( 12:31PM ) ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯

Rennie woke up, rubbing at her eyes tiredly. Why did they schedule this tournament so early?
She flopped over and spotted Bri, who was slumped by the door.

The red-haired girl crawled over to the edge of the roof and looked around. It was oddly quiet for a large-scale paintball tournament, at least compared to how it was in the beginning. In fact, she didn't see a single student running around.

Glancing at her watch, Rennie took a double take. We've been sleeping for almost four hours?!" She rushed over to Bri and shook her friend's shoulders. "Bri! Bri!"

The purple haired girl's head shot up as she blinked rapidly. "What? Is it over?"

"No, but sudden death is coming in half an hour!" Rennie quietly shrieked, gathering her paintballs in a panic (and dropping a few in the process). "We need to prepare."

"If we go out now, we might get shot," Bri said. Rennie shook her head. "I doubt anyone's around. I didn't see anyone outside when I looked."

Unconvinced, Bri stared below. Rennie is right... "Well... did you check inside the school?"

Rennie shrugged and loaded her paintball gun with more paintballs, clipping her extras to her pant waist. "Nah. But I'm sure we can beat anyone who crosses us. We have to go soon, since the roof is pretty far from the place where they're holding sudden death... the parking lot."

Bri reluctantly did the same, still unsure if leaving would be safe. Rennie glanced at her as the corners of her lips raised mischievously. "If you want, we can just wait for everyone else to leave and then shoot them down while they're going to the parking lot for sudden death. Easy. Simple."

"No... if we're the last ones there, not only will we be late, but we won't have a hiding spot. I don't know how many people are left." The red-haired girl pouted, but agreed. Bri stood up, pointing toward the exit. "Let's go."

The two friends left the roof quietly. Bri tensed at every sound she heard as they descended. Rennie had a tight grip on her gun as she swung it around every corner they passed. So far, so good...

      "Uwah!"

Bri narrowly dodged a paintball that went shooting past her. "Hide!" she hissed, pushing Rennie into a nearby hallway.

"I found some!" the attacker shouted. Rennie's ears shot up when she heard the loud stampede of footsteps coming towards them. Bri can't beat them alone!

"I'll help you!" Rennie whisper yelled, firing into the hallway at the incoming students. As most were running forwards, Rennie and Bri's paintballs hit their chests immediately; however, it seemed like the hoard had been camping the building since the beginning.

"We can't keep fighting. There's too many," Bri stated, falling back into the adjacent hallway.

"They might chase us," Rennie reasoned. "It's either we run, or we get shot here. The hallways are too dangerous. We're ahead of them, anyway, and we can run fast."

"Fine," the purple-haired girl said. She took deep breaths. "Go now!"

The two bolted away and hoped that no one saw them run by. They soon reached the ground floor and had ten minutes to spare to the parking lot.

Slowing down as they approached the main lobby, Rennie and Bri took the time to catch their breaths in the cover of a nearby wall column. "We made it," Rennie gasped. Bri hmphed. "I guess it was a good idea to leave the roof early, like you said at first," she admitted.

Outside, they could hear a voice calling out. "Sudden death starts in ten minutes! Start heading towards the parking lot!"

The two reloaded their paintball guns and started to leave, but the sound of a gun clicking stopped them.

"Hello, girls!" Rennie and Bri turned around, widening their eyes. The student president!

"Don't even try going to sudden death if you can't get past me." The president started shooting paintballs at the two, who immediately dived into the cover of the column they were at before. Rennie tried shooting at the girl, but her serpentine movements prevented the paintballs from hitting their target.

"Shoot at the same time as me!" Bri said, before motioning to go. The two jumped out and shot at the same time, one of their paintballs hitting the president's target.

"Aw dangit, I'm finally beaten. Good job, guys," the president said with a pout. She started to leave so she could observe sudden death, but stopped in her tracks. "By the way, Bri, you've got a little something there. On your chest."

Confused, the purple-haired girl stared down and froze. A paintball had hit her target.

Bri turned to stare at Rennie helplessly.

      ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ ( 12:53PM ) ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯

Rennie blinked, unsure what to do or say. The two of them planned on winning the tournament. What would Rennie do now, when her partner was out?

"...You'll have to go to sudden death alone," Bri finally said, interrupting the shocked silence. "I'll watch you from the spectator area." The purple-haired girl whipped around and started to leave.

Rennie stood in the main lobby, numb and unable to move her feet. But...

Bri glanced over her shoulder, mid-strut. "Are you going to go? The others might catch you before you even get to the parking lot."

"I... yes," Rennie replied, collecting herself. "I'm going now."

      Her friend nodded. "Good luck."

Rennie made it safely to the parking lot, where she was allowed invulnerability to paintballs until sudden death started. She found herself a hiding spot behind a cluster of cars in the corner of the lot and sat down, combing a hand through her ruffled hair.
She could see Bri leaning against the walls of the school, who met her gaze for a split second before looking down at her music player.

The president stepped up to the parking lot curb. Most of the students were hiding and not watching the president, but no one missed her words. "Sudden death starts... now!"

Rennie wasn't surprised when she heard silence. Most of the remaining players probably survived this long because they didn't run out in the open.

Save for one group, of course. The red-haired girl watched through the windows of a car as a group of three people started prowling for players.
There weren't many students left to hunt - otherwise, there would be chaos from the fighting.

I'm pretty sure I saw seven people in total enter the lot, Rennie thought, making sure that her breathing was quiet.

A paintball was suddenly shot, making her jolt in her spot. The group of three were now chasing a group of two, who were starting to split up. One of the students from the group of two started running in Rennie's direction.

Rennie held her paintball gun to her chest, her gaze flicking from left to right. The footsteps stopped from what she could hear, so she calmed down.

Suddenly, the student jumped into Rennie's hiding spot, unaware that it was already occupied. Rennie and the student locked eyes before Rennie hastily shot a paintball at the student's target. Unfortunately for her, the student screeched in surprise and gave away her spot.

"Over there!" someone shouted. The student who Rennie shot walked away with their hands in the air, now unable to participate.

Rennie's vision blurred as five students rushed in her direction - some were even randomly shooting. Others took the opportunity to shoot the students while they were preoccupied with Rennie, but the shots weren't close enough to the red targets.

The red-haired girl's thoughts plagued her mind as she raised herself from behind the cars and started firing. I'm tired of this game. Without Bri, this has no purpose...

Rennie closed her eyes tightly as she felt paintballs fly at her hair, her face, her arms. I feel like a mess. I just want some ice cream.

A student shouted in victory as they finally shot the edge of Rennie's target, but Rennie didn't care. "It's over," she mumbled, leaving the parking lot.

      It's over.

      ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ ( 1:21PM ) ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯

"We have our winners of the Senior Prank Paintball Tournament! Congrats, Sibyl and Adrian! Great job to everyone for making this a success! The school looks great." The student president gestured to the school, which was painted in rainbow colors from the paintballs. "Good luck in college, guys! Hooray for the class of 2017!"

Rennie walked over to Bri, who was listening to music, as always. Bri looked up and raised an eyebrow.

There was a pause before Rennie shook her head and laughed. "Oh well. I lost."

"I saw you. You just stood there and let yourself get shot. Why?" Bri asked, popping off one of her earbuds.

"I don't know... I think I just stopped caring. Maybe because you got out, so I lost interest," Rennie replied, shrugging. Her smile never left her face. "Man, why isn't this day ending like a cliché story? I really wanted that massage, to be honest."

Bri stared at her friend, her mouth slightly parted before breaking into a genuine laugh. The purple-haired girl gripped her sides in utter disbelief at her friend's antics. Rennie only pursed her lips and watched.

Finally, Bri calmed down and wiped away tears. "Come on, loser. Let's get ice cream. Besides, the local spa offers massages, and we've already been to our favorite band's concerts."

"That's true," Rennie said, yawning. "And yeah, I could really use some ice cream. A nap, too."

The two friends left their high school for the last time, and never looked back.

    name; Middie
    gender; male
    describe a day in their life;
he swings and swings at the playground, loving the feel of blood rushing through him. can't stop too fast or it will rush too hard... painfully. you just have to gradually stop swinging. have you ever felt that before? only if you pay close attention, you will. it happens. it's caused by the force swinging your body. middie is like a scientist in the park. his analytic mind knows no bounds of hypothesis and theories. all the mysteries of the world waiting to be answered make him purr.. literally.

looks like he forgot his glasses, again. he squints at the tall trees and at the ducks in the pond, or rather the brown amorphous shapes. he twitches his tail in frustration. time to slow down. a blurry apparition from the trail approaches him. it's a boy, not familiar but not unfamiliar.
    ...

"hey middie, where are your glasses? i thought you were blind" he giggled, leaning in to him a bit.
"get away from me, dude" middie hissed, literally.
"who are you to tell me what to do, freak?" the boy pulled middie's fluffy tail. middie retracted his claws and swiped the boy. he drew blood. middie cringed as it dripped on the inner edge of his sleeve, then he ran away from the scene towards the trail as fast as he could.

    Image

middie should have known he's too much of a spectacle to go anywhere. he was the subject of DNA experimentation when he was younger. ever since then, he's been half-boy and half-cat, fox or something else. they mutated his growing DNA, engineered him into a hybrid. the reason for it all? his parents put him through medical research for the money they'd earn for the clinical trial.

middie ran to his favorite place, the ice cream shop! although others stared at him, he couldn't resist getting an chocolate ice cream cone with caramel topping. middie found a booth.. he'd sit there for a while, until dusk.

    ...

it was time to go home. middie trudged along the smooth trail that goes there. it was getting quite dark and cold already, he shivered his way home. when he reached the door, he anticipated that one apparition, victor, to greet him. his parents considered victor a product of middie's imagination. victor wasn't there. he walked through the hallway. as soon as he opened his bedroom door, victor was there sitting on the bed and wearing middie's glasses much to his annoyance. he's the ghost of the house. the one that haunts him exclusively. victor is a friendly ghost. he's a math lover who plays the role of middie's math tutor all the time. victor's sweater is covered in triangles, his favorite shape.
"ready to do your homework?" he asked middie, holding the catperson's math book in his lap.
"you know i have to!" middie hissed impatiently.
they did some some math and middie got frustrated with how hard it was for him.
"you have the power, you know, if you believe!" victor held out his hands, making a triangular shape. triangles are a symbol of power, says victor. what does a ghost with rainbow eyes know?

    describe a day in their life;
10:00 AMindent────indentAt this point, Kiku was one hundred percent used to the oddities that kept popping up in her life. Then again, she wasn't what you would call "normal", but what can be considered "normal" in a society as secretive and distrusting as the one that she lives in? In any case, it would be to safe to say that a robber attempting to break into the shrine that she resided in could be considered one of the more "normal" scenarios.

indent"Now those robbers aren't even trying," she commented, sitting up attentively and reaching for the sheathed katana beside her. That was the sixth time that someone had tried to break into the shrine in that week, and Kiku felt that simply knocking them out with a sheathed blade simply wasn't going to cut it anymore. She didn't enjoy drawing blood, but hey, desperate times called for desperate actions. That mantra was something the kitsune had kept close to her, constantly chanting to herself over and over in her head as though it would grant her the power to make the intruders leave once and for all. It was nothing but wishful thinking, though, as mere humans aren't the type to give up so easily. Tales told of treasures hiding within Kiku's shrine, and she knew that those greedy bastards would stop at nothing until those treasures fell into their grabby hands.

indentJumping off the ledge that she was sitting on with relative ease, Kiku unsheathed the blade and admired its gleaming surface, tilting it to let the sun's rays hit the smooth and polished metal. The katana was one of her prized possessions so of course the kitsune took meticulous care of it, cleaning and buffing it constantly. In her pale blue sweater and white shorts it was easy to underestimate Kiku, especially since it wasn't everyday that one saw a real life kitsune. Most people who entered the shrine probably thought that she was just some small child who enjoyed putting on fake ears and a fake tail. She was no child; while she looked not a day older than seventeen, Kiku was at least several centuries old. That was what being a mythological creature did to someone.

indentPerking up her ears as she heard the sound of undisguised footsteps thumping against the wooden floors, the kitsune felt a wave of disgust wash over her. There was someone daring to walk uninvited into her home, and they weren't even trying to hide it. "Now, you certainly don't see that every day," Kiku muttered to herself, tightening her grip on her katana while swishing her tail back and forth in agitation. "Looks like I'll have to give this particular visitor some special treatment, hmm?"

indentStraining her ears, Kiku closed her eyes for a brief moment as the sound of footfalls grew softer and softer. The stupid human had taken a wrong path and was heading unknowingly back to the entrance. It was a perfect opportunity for the kitsune to sneak up on him to finish him off. After all, those who trespass into forbidden territory rarely got out unscathed. The former intruders had unexplained scars, injuries, and even missing limbs to recount the tale, but no one had ever gone missing. She was at her wit's end, though; one more unwanted intruder and she might as well burn the shrine down herself and take refuge in the woods instead. Some may call it overreacting, but when faced with a grand total of six hundred ninety two trespassers a year, it does take its toll on a person. "No, kitsune," Kiku corrected herself out loud, as she rounded a corner. If a kitsune couldn't handle this kind of event happening to her, then it makes it even less likely that a human could stand it any better than she could.

indentIn front of Kiku was a lone figure, walking at a lethargic speed. It appeared as though they had no real motive for being at the shrine in the first place, and the female kitsune felt another wave of disgust, but quickly squished it down. When faced with problems such as this, there was no room for petty feelings such as disgust, or so Kiku had believed. Balancing her katana on one of her shoulders, she stopped in her tracks and placed her free hand on her hip, shifting most of her weight onto one leg. "So. What is this I have in front of me? A new pet sent from the heavens, or a mere human trying to break in for the treasure?" Letting out a surreptitious laugh at the human's surprise as he swiveled around to face her, Kiku's rosy pink hues narrowed into thin slits and turned as hard as flint. "I'll let you in on a secret; there is no treasure in this forsaken place. It's my home. You're a trespasser, and now you'll have to face the consequences of stepping on forbidden territory."

indentThe intruder blinked, not comprehending the threat that had left Kiku's lips. "What the heck are you? You look like a human, but those ears and tail seem to say otherwise. Perhaps you are the treasure of this place, and I'll have the great honour of showing you to the other members of humanity." Taking a step forward despite the kitsune's warning, the male reached out to touch Kiku's ears, which wasn't a hard task, since he was several inches taller than her.

indentLashing her tail in anger at the fact that some mortal dared to touch her magnificent ears, Kiku slapped away the male's hands and sliced at his throat, releasing a spray of red into the air. He was caught unaware by her actions, and still had a confused look on his face even as his head was separated from his body. When he finally caught sight of his dismembered body, his eyes finally widened with horror as his body and head fell to the ground. More blood pooled from his neck, as Kiku wiped absentmindedly at a drop of blood that had landed on her cheek, creating a red smear. A small amount of blood had landed on her shoes and her blue sweater much to her chagrin, but it was nothing that she couldn't fix with a quick wash. "You probably shouldn't have tested my patience," the kitsune commented out loud, despite the fact that there was no one there to hear her words. The male was dead, and had been from the moment her katana and cut into him.

indentSighing in mild irritation, Kiku bent down and stabbed at the middle of the head with her katana while picking up the body none too gently. She had to dispose of the body somehow, as there was no real use for it. As for the head, she could potentially mount it on some sort of pole and place it in front of the shrine. Hopefully the other humans will see the human head and back away from their impending deaths. Things would certainly be a lot easier if it did work that way.

indentDumping the body of the dead human in a large bin whose contents were headed for the incinerator located inside the shrine, the female kitsune ran her bloodied fingertips through her hair, smoothing out the strands and accidentally getting blood on her hair. Keeping a deadpan expression on her face, Kiku made her way back to her room and set the katana near its sheath before heading off to find a long pole to stick the head on to. She didn't have to look far; there were plenty of bamboo poles stashed away in her room (for whatever odd reason), and she had found just the perfect one to mount the head onto. Bringing it outside, Kiku stabbed the bottom of the pole into the earth, driving it into the dirt until she was confident that it wouldn't topple over. That was a more complex task than decapitating the human; the dirt was hard and dense and proved to be a challenge when you wanted to stick something into it.

indentGroaning from the sheer effort of trying to stick the pole into the dirt, Kiku stumbled back and landed on the grass once she had let go, panting for breath. As tired as she was, she couldn't help but admire her handiwork. "Of course, if you want something done then you should always do it yourself. You just can't trust anyone else to do as good of a job as you will," she muttered to herself, before brightening up. There was not much else for her to do now that she had taken care of the intruder except to clean up that mess in that one hall (god knows which hallway it was; there were so many in that shrine it was almost unbelievable), clean and polish her blade, and take a long, well deserved bath. Frowning suddenly, Kiku crossed her arms over her chest, having second thoughts about the entire ordeal. "Maybe I should've let him live longer since I'm going to be terribly bored after I'm done... Oh, to hell with it! He's dead now, and there's nothing I can do about it. After my bath, I may consider getting up and visiting town... Of course, I'll have to find a way to conceal my ears and tail, but that is of little concern."

indentStanding up with a slight spring in her step, Kiku beamed at the pole and the head mounted on top of it, twitching the tip of her tail lightly. Then, with a moment of hesitation, the female kitsune turned and made her way back into the shrine, preparing to do a thorough clean up of the shrine. One could never be sure when another intruder may arrive, and walking upon bloodied floors would prove to be an unsettling experience. In any case, that wouldn't really matter, since from then on, any human that dared to walk in the shrine would be reduced to little more than ashes and have their head mounted on a bamboo pole.

11:47 AMindent────indentWiping her hands on a clean towel that she had found in the washroom, the female kitsune shook her head, sending her awry and wet, pink hair flying everywhere. Grabbing the nearest hair tie that she saw, Kiku quickly bundled her hair into a messy ponytail before taking another clean towel to bring to her room. Although she had cleaned up most of the mess in the hall, the floors would need to be mopped again later and she hadn't cleaned her katana of all the excess blood. Kiku couldn't stand working in bloodied clothes, so she had taken a bath, exchanged her dirtied clothes for clean ones, and prepared to get on with her work.

indentThe pink haired kitsune made her way over to her room, letting out a small sigh once she saw the state that her katana was in. "Why did I expect anything less than covered in blood?" Kiku asked rhetorically, setting the blade gently onto the wooden floors. Standing up to wipe the blood off the ledge, the kitsune watched in mild fascination as crimson bloomed across the formerly pristine towel, taking shape as ugly red blotches. She wouldn't let herself be distracted, though; there were more important things to be done.

indentCleaning off the ledge with a flourish, Kiku turned to face the katana with a slight frown on her face. Cleaning the blade with the dirtied cloth may result it said blade getting even dirtier, and the female kitsune cursed at herself for not bringing a basin of water to rinse the blade in. The blood wouldn't let itself be wiped away so easily; one would need water to persuade it to leave. Standing up, the pink haired female let out a sigh before heading back to the washroom to fetch a basin of warm water.

indent"Ahh... I'm so hungry. Now that I think about, I believe there's no more food left in the shrine. That's a little troublesome; I'll have to stop in the nearest town to get some more meat." Clicking her tongue against the roof of her mouth in distaste, Kiku reached for the nearest basin and proceeded to fill it with warm water. Once the water had almost reached the brim, the female kitsune set the basin on the top of the counter before grabbing the bloodied towel. Rinsing it under the tap water, she observed how the traces of red started to disappear as she scrubbed at the cloth. The red mixed with the water, and soon it vanished as it went down the drain. Closing the tap, Kiku wrung the towel dry and set it in the basin. Lifting the basin of water up, the pink haired female then started to make her way towards her room again, where her katana was still waiting for her.

indentKiku stepped through the doorway of her room before grimacing at the stench of blood. Perhaps she had left it lying for too long, and as short as it seemed, it was certainly long enough for the acrid smell of blood to take place. Wrinkling her nose, Kiku observed the place wryly before bending down to wipe the blade on the ground with the clean towel. "If that town has any Febreeze in it, then I'll certainly need to buy a bottle. Do towns even sell Febreeze?" After wiping the katana down nonchalantly, the pink haired female dunked the blade into the basin, rinsing it slightly. After she was satisfied that all of the blood had come off, Kiku squeezed the water out of the towel before starting to pat it dry. The blood on the ledge was of little concern; after she had finished tending to the blade will she then scrub meticulously at the wood.

indentAfter the pink haired female had finished cleaning her room, she had opened the windows to let the remaining wetness dry out. Sliding the katana back into its heavily embroidered ivory sheath, she set the blade onto the edge of her bed, bent down to pick up the basin of water, and hurried outside. Kiku picked her way around the shrine carefully before finally stopping at an outcropping of grass. Setting down the basin and squeezing the water out of the towel onto the grass, the female kitsune set the towel onto the gravel, making a mental note to wash the towel again. Inhaling sharply as she picked up the basin again, Kiku closed her eyes and poured the water onto the grass, flinching as a few drops made its way onto her bare skin. Most of the water still ended in the grass, and satisfied with her work, Kiku picked up the towel again and made her way into the washroom. She would wash it, and hurry back to her room to pick out several gold coins before leaving the shrine for the nearest town. It would take some time for the female kitsune to make it to the town, and she wanted to make use of the bright daylight while she could.

12:25 PMindent────indent"Thank you for the meat!" Kiku exclaimed cheerfully as she raised the bag of meat that she had been given and bowed towards the man running the register. While it had taken her longer than expected to reach the town, all negative thoughts had vanished the moment she had stepped into the butcher's store. The female kitsune was chewing on a cooked chicken leg, admiring the way the spices worked together to enhance the overall flavour of the meat. While she usually ate her food raw, she wanted to try cooking her food to be that tasty. Kitsunes usually ate to survive, not to enjoy the meal and the flavours. Of course, her work with cleaning the shrine and dealing with the trespasser had also allowed the pink haired female to amount to this much pleasure.

indent"Of course, Kiku! Do take care, you are our most esteemed customer, after all!" Exchanging a smile with the female kitsune, the butcher quickly returned back to his work, and Kiku tightened her hold onto the bag of meat as she started to wander around the town. It was a rather small town located on the outskirts of the country, but the views were magnificently picturesque. If she had owned a camera, then the pink haired female would spend hours upon hours wandering around the area, taking photos of whatever she deemed to be beautiful.

indentTaking slow steps that led her out of the town, the kitsune made her way to a bench that was situated near the exit. There just so happened to be a large lake in front of the bench, with a forest surrounding many of the lake's sides. The trees were all lush, green, and tall, and nothing made Kiku happier than seeing healthy plant life. They were magnificent in their own way, and she continued to eat away at the chicken leg with her newly found fervor. The bag of meat was on the bench seat next to her, and as Kiku closed her eyes, she could make out faint traces of chirps and tweets from the birds that resided in the forest. "How beautiful," she said aloud, opening her eyes again and surveying the colour of the water, "I've truly spent too much time holed up in my shrine fending off trespassers. Maybe I do need a breather every now and then. I could get used to this. This is really nice."

indentSighing loudly, Kiku stood up again, shielding her eyes from the sun with one hand. Taking the bag of meats with her other hand, the female kitsune twitched an ear as she started to make her back to her shrine whilst still observing the wonders that nature had in store. She didn't appear to be the type of creature to admire flowers and take note of how brightly the sun is shining, but now that she has had a touch of the flora and fauna, the pink haired female couldn't want to find some plants to pot and set around the shrine to liven the place up.

indent"I truly can't wait to continue upgrading my shrine... Perhaps some flowers here and there will let out those stupid robbers know that the place is indeed inhabited and will leave me alone for once. Who knows, maybe they might take those flowers as an invitation to come in. In any case, instead of beheading them, I'll start throwing those pots of flowers at them soon enough..."
