What are Nile River Equids?

Nile River Equids (NREs) are a sub-breed of Mustangs who were discovered to be living in Africa. They tend to range anywhere from 12 hh to 16 hh, while there have been known to be slightly smaller or larger. These horses tend to be able to sustain themselves on a minimal amount of water and food, they can travel long distances and have extraordinary stamina. The people who discovered these animals found that they were extraordinarily friendly and the braided tails are a sign that the NRE is domesticated or belongs to another person.

Story: Phoenix's story is quite peculiar. She was found on Saltaire's property during a trail ride, and would have gone unnoticed if not for the keen eye of the stable hands. It happened like this; Ava, who was riding with her barn buddy Mila (pronounced Meela) at the time, spotted something through the trees in the meadow nearby. At first she though it was a cow, but after observing the way it moved with a grace that no cow has, she was surprised to discover it was a horse. After conversing with her friend, Mila, Ava decided to approach the horse. As Ava crept closer, the horse's head shot up, and instead of running away, it leaned forward and sniffed Ava's hand. The horse, seemingly uninterested, resumed to rip out clods of grass from the ground, shaking the dirt from the roots. Ava had Mila travel back to the lodge and bring back a halter and a lead rope. The horse was unwilling to follow them at first, but was soon bribed with treats.
Once Mila and Ava arrived back at the stables and made sure the horse had been taken care of, they started looking for the horse's past owner. Three days later, they discovered that the mare had wandered off from a small herd. Unfortunately, the riders at the stable had grown quite fond of the mare over the past few days, sometimes even sneaking her a treat. After negotiating with the owners of the mare (who were going to auction her off anyways), they ended up adopting her for free, with the exception of training the rest of her former herd simple groundwork. After finishing their end of the deal, Ava, Mila, and the other regular riders decided on a name. Her barn name would be Pheonix, after her stunning orange and white coat, and her show name 'Not all who wander are lost' because of her previous circumstances. Today, she lives happily with the other mares and stallions of Saltaire Farm.

[ Ugghhh, felis how did you create a nearly perfect replica of Rain from the movie Spirit Stallion Of The Cimmaron. And how did you manage to time it so a Spirit replica was below it too !?!? You are amazing ! ]

She was with her stallion Spirit, in heat and very riled up and energetic when her buckskin stallion sounded the alarm through way if a whinny. Instantly alert but confused by his vague danger alert she stood quivering slightly till mustering courage she as the lead mare walked up to his side. Little did she know that had just made the plan easier. You see Spirit's herd hadn't realised that they had just intruded in a reserve of native animals and that currently because of the booming Nike river squid population some where being rounded up. Unfamiliar to the vegetation around this certain area they had little chance of escapture.

Alas never judge someone spending on the previous person's personality. Just because one canyon and once saved the horses from the grasp of man didn't mean this one would. In fact it got them cornered, surrounded and in a roped pen of alarming colours, disarrayed to confuse and penetrate any horse's sanity. As she galloped down she noticed it wasn't leading to freedom but leading to a dead end with a gate. Too late too stop gates were flung closed and with a little threatening whip flicks to the ground Spirit, the last one, was in. They were then transported to here, the stud and Rain was semi trained. She was to be a brood mare and carry the foals of stallions. But after a few tries it was obvious Spirit was gonna tear through hell and back before he'd let any stallion mate with any mare of his herd. His herd was kept here as mostly brood mares except for the occasional talent star who became the next green showjumper or new dressage queen diva. Any attempt in training Rain she took as an attempt in her life after. Now here mostly stable outside and with her King by her side she had turned into quiet the eye catcher with her gorgeous coat and is destined to produce great foals of bloodline.
