Sideas Mining horses are short and stocky in the leg, and otherwise have the regular proportions of a warmblood. They originate from the northern hemisphere where they've been used to pull coal through mines since the practice began in China just after 3490 BC. Archeological finds suggest that they used to be much more delicate and thin of coat. Over time, they've grown much thicker than they used to be from a steady need for stronger horses and bigger loads. By nature, their manes only go halfway down the neck and they have large tufts of a forelock. Their tails are often braided both to keep them a little cooler and out of caution. Horses deemed fit for coal pulling have their manes streaked with bright colours so that unfit horses aren't put on the job. The colours are never dark so the horses have less a chance of getting lost from sight in the caves, especially in the case of dark coated horses.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------They usually stand between 9 and 12 hands.
Eye colour can be anything, usually matching their mane streaks unless dark.
Coats can be anything except appaloosa, see more here----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Stallions can be bred 15 times.
Mares can be bred 10 times.
Geldings and mares that have been sterilized cannot breed.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Bimonthly, there is a coal pulling competition in the last week of the month where winners can win special breedings, extra breeding slots, customs and more. SMHs also love to celebrate, and host many events.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Opens January 24th.
---Contestants will enter via PM, sending in 30-50 word training or coal pulling 'stories,' depending on the task given, with one of their SMHs. They can send in one per 6 hours, each one giving them one to three points based on the quality of it. Entrants will not know any of their scores throughout the week. On January 31st, the player with the highest points will win a very common to uncommon custom and a voucher to guarantee twins in one breeding. Second place will win a very common to common custom. Third place will win a very common custom.
-Yes, you need to own an SMH to enter!-
SMHs who win first to third place in coal running will get a corresponding medal added to the top right corner of their image and below their form. The more medals earned, the more distinct the horse is. These will come into play later, once more horses have medals.
Bear in mind prizes vary from month to month.
