Hekus have functioning gills: they are excellent swimmers and can breathe underwater so they could spend their whole life in saline waters. However most Hekus live on land.
Hekus live for 30 human years most. Hekus undergo natural sex change at the age of 20 - they are all born female and become male, thus males are rare. (Only male Hekus can grow hair on their head, females are bald!)
Hekus are fertile til the end of their life and choose lifelong mates. Same sex pairings are allowed, however only male x female pairs can have babies. (More info to come)
