Lucerna Lepus, or Luces (loo-say-z) as they are more commonly known, are a form of rabbit found in mountain valleys. They seem to be part lamb, as they have wool running from the top of their head to the base of their tail and around the ankles of their two front hooves. They have paws on their back legs, and are built for speed and agility. They have thick, curly fur that help keep them warm in the colder mountain climates, as well as thick pads on their paws to prevent them from getting cut on the rocks.

Their name is Latin, translating to Lamp Rabbit. They have earned this name from the strange glowing bulbs that grow, almost like antennae, from the base of their tail matching their eye color. Near each bulb grows a feather, likely used to attract mates. It is rumored that their feathers will shine slightly in the night because of the glow of their bulbs, attracting attention to them from lost travelers. Hikers that have encountered these creatures call them "Mountain Guardians", as they are said to lead the hiker to a safe place to rest until daybreak before disappearing without a trace.

Some Luces have also been found with wings of three different types: angel, bat and butterfly. Luces with such wings are lighter than others and can fly for short periods of time, able to glide for only slightly longer. Others have been found that are infected with something commonly known as Little Lamp Syndrome, or LLS. These Luces will never grow beyond the child stage and can only breed with other LLS Luces.

Rarity Guidelines

Common - Dark Gray Lantern
no wings, unnatural base color, light colored eyes

Uncommon - Bronze Lantern
angel wings, natural base color, dark colored eyes, small line edits(small accessories)

Rare - Light Gray Lantern
bat wings, dark unnatural base color with light markings, light hetero-chromatic eyes, line edits(larger accessories or small fur/wool edits)

Very Rare - Gold Lantern
butterfly wings, dark natural base color with light markings, dark hetero-chromatic eyes, major line edits(adding hair/styling wool)

Ultra Rare - White Lantern
custom lines/wings, dark on dark design, multicolored eyes(not necessarily hetero-chromatic(more like rainbow fade or something like that)), little to no wool

Artist Rules

2. Please refrain from making a ton of rare and very rare designs.
3. Absolutely NO ultra rare designs without permission. These are reserved for special adopts.
4. You make ONE personal custom a piece once we open up customs, not before.
5. If you decide to make another custom, you must first adopt the first one out.
6. NO first come, first serve adopts. Every contest should run for at least four days or two pages.
7. If you are inactive after two months, you will be removed from the list and will have to reapply.
8. Staff limit is 7 Luces and 4 Nursery Luces. Customs count towards this limit.
