Caork Isles - the islands that Ahioko's live on - is populated by many trees and wildlife, though none as important as The Tree of Life. This tree is the oldest living thing on the main island, and its fruit contains the souls of thousands different Ahioko's.
When a piece of fruit is picked by two mated Ahioko's - it is very important that only the two parents touch the fruit when it is picked - the fruit will change color slightly and become slightly transparent when light is shown directly behind it. Near the middle will be a slightly darker area, which is the "heart" of the fruit. The fruit of this tree gives life to new Ahiokos when it's fruit is picked, though if picked by a signal Ahioko or multiple Ahioko's the fruit will begin to rot almost instantly.
The waste of The Tree's fruit is a crime, and if committed it is more than likely the Ahioko will be exhiled from the islands.
However, touching and not picking a "Soul Fruit" is said to bring good luck and uplift the spirits of the islanders.
In some cases, mated Ahioko's will have permission to pick more than one piece of fruit from The Tree of Life. However, more than two is extremely difficult to achieve, and quite a lot of work for a new family.
From this Soul Fruit, an Ahioko pup is born. It takes a few days for the pup to chew it's way through the tough outer layer of the fruit, but rest assured all Ahioko's make their way out of their fruits safely. Eating their fruit is important for healthy growth, and will help their intelligence later on.
They learn by watching, so be careful what you say and do around your newest member of the family!

- Ahiokos don't have to mate for life, though in some cases they do.
- Ahiokos can only have one mate to breed with at a time, so please notify me on any mate changes.
- Two Ahiokos who wish to breed must have proof of partnership (PoP) which can be a screen shot of both parties agreeing to a breeding.
- Two Ahiokos owned by two different users do not have a wait time for breeding.
- Two Ahiokos owned by one user have a wait time of one week after becoming mates before breeding. Please notify my ahead of time if you're planing on making them mates.
- Twins or triplets will never be identical twins/triplets.
- If an Ahioko's lucky enough to have triplets (1 of 1000 chance) at least one of the siblings MUST be put up for adoption.
- Breeding is entirely free and will never cost a thing.
- Nursery Ahiokos (generation two) cannot breed, for now.
- All litter mates MUST age at the same time (twins & triplets.)
- Wait a month between growths.
- After breeding, you must wait your Ahioko's pups to be teens before breeding again.
- You can only breed your Ahioko with one Ahioko 10 times. If they switch to a different mate they are allowed to breed another ten times with that Ahioko.
- Related Ahiokos cannot be breed. If they were to pick a fruit together, it would rot and that's a crime in its self...
