Welcome to the Home of the Ocean Dwellers
The Syads

Intro:
On the world of Lectarus there are strange lands filled with monsters and warriors; and it is not on land that the dragons lurk but deep beneath the sea never reaching the surface. The lands of Lectarus, both Aragus and Garan, have dark and beautiful life but it is in the ocean that the most beautiful of creatures dwells. It is there that the things of legends live whose lives span over a 100 years. The Syads, the most precious stones of Lectarus's crown jewels.

Characteristics:
•Size: Male Syads can grow to be 3.5 ft tall and weigh 200 lbs, whereas female Syads grow to be 3 ft and only weigh 130 lbs.
•Pelts: Syads have very sleek but very thick fur.
•Markings: The color of the pelts and markings are always oceanic in nature so as to blend better with their surroundings.
•Paws: Syads have webbed paws to aid them in swimming.
•Gills: These creatures do possess gills allowing them to convert the oxygen in the water to breathable substances thus never having to surface to breath. When on land though, these gills are covered up mostly by flaps of skin and the nostrils/mouth take over for breathing.
•Horns: Syads have a set of horns that have to prongs in the back and prongs in the front (females) or no prongs in the front (male)
•Spines: On the neck the vertebrae of the spine are visible as well as three towards the tail (always only three). Often accessories are tied to the vertebrae.
•Stingers: As a defense mechanism, this species possesses stinger tentacles interlacing with their tails a lot like jellyfish. These stingers are extremely painful, injecting large amounts of poison into the enemy's nervous system. Luckily these stingers don't fire the poison automatically, the creature has to consciously make the decision to fire.
•Tails & Tufts: The tails and tufts at the base of the spine are hair-like and usually messy. The hairs are often beautiful combinations of colors.
•Pearls: A Syad's horns each hold a pearl. The pearls match the color of the creatures eyes. If one has two different colored eyes then the two pearls will be different colors.

Other:
•Habitat: Syads can live anywhere in the ocean, even at its deepest points (though down there these creatures have many special mutations and are often blind).
•Accessories: Accessories often consist of more pearls of the same color that are strapped to their horns. They can also have other gems, rocks, seashells, and other items from their surroundings and sea life. One thing that is always included is at least one sand dollar. This sand dollar (when broken while in the water) summons help from moon jellyfish, sea horses, and other Syads. This does not work on land though which is why Syads are rarely seen out of the water.
•Food: This species only eats sea life and can die of starvation if trapped on land.
Rarities:
Common: Normal lines, any coloring, single eye color, blind.
Uncommon: Normal lines, any coloring, bi-colored/tri-colored eyes
Rare: Mutations, no accessories
Very rare: Born with only one pearl
