Ribbon CatsLines generously drawn by the amazing Dave Egbert//Artist Comp// Species information
What is a ribbon cat?
Ribbon cats are felines that have one particular piece of string perpetually encircling their bodies. This string is woven from their fur, and it grows with age, so you can tell the age of a ribbon cat from the length of the string. It is unknown as of now how the string develops. The ribbon may be in any color, but it usually compliments the ribbon cat's colors.
Ribbon cats were domesticated separately from house cats, so they have slightly different features. For example, they may be in unusual colors, even neon. They also have fluffier tails, longer ears, and their noses protrude from their muzzles more than the noses of other felines. They are omnivores. They are much more friendly and compassionate than house cats. In fact, they love human company! Adopt a lonely ribbon cat today!
How do I adopt?
Click on a cat below the main adopt page that has the "adopt me" sign beside it, or click on a cat in the quote box that has all the ribbon cats up for adoption. There, you will find a form and a date. Fill out the form as best you can by the date. Then, the artist will judge who had the best form. Whoever they like best gets to keep the ribbon cat!
Sometimes, the artist might see another outstanding form. In that case, the artist will offer a runner-up (RU for short). An RU will be a semi-custom, based on the design of the original, but with different colors. These are mainly offered for "impress me" contests.
Rules
• Please read the rules and follow them! I will know if you don't.
• No spamming, please. That doesn't mean I don't like posts along the lines of "So cute! Marking!" c;
• A mod's word is also a rule. If a mod tells you something you don't want to hear, please don't whine and complain.
• Try to keep your tone positive. If you don't win, it's okay to say something like "Congratulations! You're so lucky!" but it's not okay to say something like, "That was sooo biased. My form was better anyway. I never win." This also means, please don't fight.
• Don't claim these as your own. That's called art theft. It's illegal.
• Please try to use correct grammatical rules. I understand if you make a mistake, but we can all capitalize the beginnings of sentences. Chatspeak does not count as correct grammar.
• There are no adoption limits, except on customs.
• Please don't ask for customs. Staff members may give them out to their friends. Only one per person, please! Staff may take two for themselves.
• If you don't want your ribbon cat anymore, you can put it up for re-adoption. The artist will re-post the image underneath of a cover. The new contest will take place there. You may not sell or trade your ribbon cat.
• If you have a question, go ahead and post it.
• I have the right to make new rules if I think there needs to be a change. I will alert you, I promise!

Rules for artists:
• Please judge promptly. If you say the contest will be closed on a particular date, close it and judge it on that particular date.
• Make harmonious designs, please.
• Line edits are allowed! I don't know the brush setting, so experiment a bit. I believe it's size 2.
• You may have 2 customs.
