Macronine FanForumPronounciation; Mah-crow-nine - Singular- Macronine - Plural; Macronines - Nickname; Mac/MacroWhat Are They?
With the general characteristics of both a Canine and a Kangaroo, Macronines' are an interesting species in their entirety. They are roughly the size of a full grown kangaroo, though they contain a few characteristics which are gained from the canine side of their DNA. First, their entire head has the look of a canine, without including the larger ears they contain. The other noticeable characteristic they gain from canines are their front paws- which are quite similar to that of a canine. These creatures also often have thick furry manes on their heads, along with the tips of their tails.
Macronines, due to the thicker fur they gained from the Canine side of their DNA, mostly live in the northern regions of the united states, though it isn't uncommon to find them more south. Though they are mainly herbivores, a Macronine will not refuse to hunt small prey in times of need.

Species Information
To start off, the Macronine are quite a unique species. They have the figure of a kangaroo, with small characteristics of a canine. Their face and front paws are similar to a canine, while the rest of the body is that of a kangaroo, which includes a large pouch on their belly to carry their children in. They have thick manes on the top of their head, and tip of their tail. To add onto this, ALL Macronines contain a stripe marking along their flank, hind ankles, tail, and often underneath their eye. It is slightly uncommon for a macronine to have more stripes then the common amount, though even more rare for one to have less then usual.
Next, three types of horns are common in Macronines. Short, Long, and Ram ( or curled ) horns are the most common, though it isn't impossible for a macronine to have a different type of horn.
The child of a Macronine is usually called the Joey, which is derived from the kangaroo ancestry within this species. They are quite small when they are born, roughly the size of a can of soda. At birth, they crawl into a large pouch on one of the parents, and rest there until they are roughly 2 months old. They then can move around on their own, and don't need to rest with their mother inside the pouch. Joeys don't develop their own pouch until they are one year old, which is the age of maturity.
Sometimes, a Macronine joey will be born with a chemical in their brain that pauses growth after they reach a certain age. This means that, though their brain can mature to act like an adult, their body will not grow. This is known as Joey Forever Syndrome, or JFS
