Short Introduction
Infernus Lupus is Latin for Hell Wolf (Infernus Lupi for multiple Hell Wolves). They are a race of wild and captive animals which feed on a soul diet of meat. There are several different kinds of horns and tails they can have, each with it's own different purpose. to go into further detail about the Infernus Lupus, read below to get the full feel of the species.
Behaviour & Temperament
Despite their ghastly name, they are rather timid and social. They are often very friendly and live in groups of three (one male and two females) called Clans. They breed once a year around November time. During this time the male's placid nature is changed into a defensive mass of fur, horns and teeth! A female will be pregnant for a full year, giving birth to one cub, it is rare to get twins. A mother's instinct is to protect their young. A mother Infernus Lupus is impossible to approach while she has a cub. A cub will leave it's mother at ten months to join an existing Clan or start their own with another wandering Infernus Lupus. Like in lion prides, the males do almost nothing while the females hunt, though males have been known to hunt for themselves when females are pregnant of have given birth in the past five months.
Origins
The Infernus Lupus was first found in the Italian countryside. Though it has been noticed that they are also found in Peru, China and Mexico. This means there are four types of Lupus. The Italian Infernus Lupus, Peruvian Infernus Lupus, Chinese Infernus Lupus and the Mexican Infernus Lupus.
Types of Infernus Lupus
As said above, there are four kinds of Infernus Lupus, the Italian Infernus Lupus, Peruvian Infernus Lupus, Chinese Infernus Lupus and the Mexican Infernus Lupus.
The Italian Infernus Lupus is the smallest. They can grow to the size of a large Shetland Pony. Males can weigh 2426lbs and females can be 2196lbs.
The Chinese Infernus Lupus is about the size of a cow and weighs 4520lbs for both males and females.
The Mexican and the Peruvian Infernus Lupus are the largest of their kind. They can be the size of a shire or large draft horse. Males weigh in at 9201lbs and females can be 9098lbs. They are the most endangered and dwindle in their numbers, unlike their Italian and Chinese counterparts who are thriving all over Europe and Asia.
Looks & Appearance
In all the Infernus Lupus types, only males have horns which they use for hunting, fighting and during the rut when breeding. The females have no need for horns so never grow them. Unlike the other types, Chinese Infernus Lupi tend to not have the half demon tail and just have the large thick tail or the small wolf-like tail. They vary in size but each have the same body shape. Infernus Lupi are not domestic pets, though they have been domesticated to our benefit. Many people do not realize how much care they need and can't take care of them correctly. Males very often tend to get obese both in the wild and in captivity, only females can get pudgy in captivity. All Infernus Lupi have the trade mark "white toes". It is a genetic marking which is passed down through all Infernus Lupi.
