What is a Saltkin?
A Saltkin is a type of creature that looks like a mixture between a dog and a cat when in fact it is neither. It is a creature that is closely related to the chinchilla and lives off of salt. They are quite small in reality and can be any color. Most are vibrant colors, though depending on the region they live in, their colors can be earth tones. The land where the Saltkin's reside is called The Salty Sea Side. The there are five regions of this land; The Beach, The Forest, The Gardens, The Swamp, and The Pond. The more vibrant colored Saltkin's reside in these three regions; The Beach, The Gardens, and The Pond. The earth toned Saltkin's reside in these two regions; The Forest and The Swamp. A Saltkin ages 2 years every human month and they never die, they just grow older and older, to the point where they look like prunes. To keep your Saltkin youthful, you must come back to the region your Saltkin is from and get him/her a salty snack, though they can go 3 days without eating. Lastly, Saltkin's have no specific markings so you can add what ever markings you see appropriate.
What are the Saltkin Breeds?
There are various breeds of Saltkins. If you're an artist, you must include the breed of your Saltkin and include the region it's from. Below I will give a list of the Saltkin breeds, the major colors of the breed(they can come in different colors as long as you stay true to the major colors), and the region of The Salty Sea Side it resides in.
Blood Rose - The major colors of this breed are red and black. They reside in The Gardens.
Murky Cream - The major colors of this breed are brown, tan, grey and off white. They reside in The Forest.
Spark - The major colors of this breed vary from bright pink to neon yellow to electric blue. They reside at The Beach, The Gardens, and The Pond.
Salt - The major colors of this breed are sandy tan, teal, off white and Caribbean blue. They reside at The Beach.
Muddied Earth - The major colors of this breed are muddy brown, muddy green, and olive. They reside in The Swamp.
Apple Pie - The major colors of this breed are green, red, and yellow. They reside at The Pond.
Willow - The major colors of this breed are all shades of grey, including black and white. They reside all over The Salty Sea Side, though they are rare compared to the other breeds, it's harder to find them. (Only special artists of my choosing are allowed to create Willow's.)
Kalidascope - These are any color the artist chooses, they are the most common because when breeding two Saltkins, they are most likely the outcome of the baby. They reside all of The Salty Sea Side.
Zlata - The major colors of this breed are gold, silver, and Christmas blue. They reside anywhere the artist wants them to.
Zinaida - The major colors of this breed are green, brown, tan, off white, olive, forest green, and light brown. They reside in The Swamp and The Forest.
What is a Saltkin's Food Preferences?
A Stalkin's food preference depends on the region they are from. Below I will give a list of foods depending on the region of The Salty Sea Side.
The Beach - Sea Crab, Sea Weed, Catfish
The Forest - Tree Bark, Fern, Salt Lily
The Gardens - Salt Weeds, Salt Grass, Berries
The Swamp - Cat Tails, Swamp Toads, Frogs
The Pond - Koi Fish, Lily Pads, Pond Grass
Tip: To keep your Saltkin youthful, post in the thread listing the name of your Saltkin, the region it's from, and the food you're feeding it! Depending on how much you care for your Saltkin, you may win a free custom Saltkin! Just don't post every five minutes. Saltkin's can go 3 days without eating.
Are Saltkin's Breedable?
Yes they are! Though when you put your Satlkin up for breeding with another Saltkin, it does NOT mean you are going to automatically get the baby... If you want your Saltkin's baby, you must participate in the baby's auction. Breeding is just to help populate The Salty Sea Side!

Adopting a Saltkin:
You must compete in what ever auction/give away is being held for the Saltkin you want.
Fill out what ever forum the artist wants filled out, correctly and completely.
Listen to the artists rules as well.
You are allowed to adopt 6 Saltkin's and breed 3 of them.

For the Artists:
READ THE BREEDS!
If you make a Willow Breed and are not one of the special artists I have given permission to, you automatically lose your Artist status!
You may pick up to 4 colors of your choice for your Saltkin, you may add 3 or more colors to the original 3 colors if you want it to be a rare.
You may add a maximum of 7 accessories to your Saltkin.
If you're making a rare, LABEL IT AS A RARE.
If you're making a rare, they can only be offered in an auction and given to one person who you thinks either deserves it or filled out the auction forum the best.
In your Auction/Give Away Forum, include a Breedable option. This is the only required option for Auction/Give Away Forums.

You may take off the green tint.
Keep the shading.
You may take off any gender symbols or words except for the purple Б symbol.
You are able to adopt up to 10 Saltkins and breed up to 5 of them.
