In the vast lands of Langra, an island just north of the Tropic of Capricorn in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, many breeds of horse and other equine species thrive. Grasses are rich and plentiful, clean freshwater is readily available, and predators are almost unheard of. But due to the harsh seas and turbulent wind currents around the island, these species have had no human interaction, breeding and evolving through natural selection.
One of the breeds of 'Langra Horses' as they have come to be called, is the Dark Forest Draft (DFD). These sturdy equines live in the shades of the trees and brush and are very agile despite their massive size. Their herds tend to be smaller than those of regular horses, usually consisting of a stallion and up to three mares, as well as any young foals. A DFD is able to leave its mother's side at the age of 3, and is fully mature at the age of 6. Despite being late to mature, they are very long-lived, some living well into their 40's or even 50's! Paints, appaloosas, and brindles are common, as well as duns and buckskins. However, chestnuts are extremely uncommon, as well as greys.
How To Adopt!
Any DFD up for adoption will have the 'Adopt me!' sticker attached to its image. Any equine without that sticker is already owned.
On the DFD's page, there will be some set information (gender, perhaps height or age) and a form to be filled out. Any forms that are edited after posting or not of the same format as the original will not be counted. Some will be up for adoption on a first-come, first-serve (FCFS) basis; others may have questions that need to be answered correctly to adopt. There may even be art or poetry competitions for the design!
Breeding
I can guarantee that at some point I will allow breeding, but for now I'll just be making designs. A DFD can breed a maximum of 3 times, and breedings will likely cost a set amount of pets. Do not inquire about breedings unless I say that I will be doing breedings.
Rules
-You may adopt one per day (however, you may apply for more than one)
-Each individual can own up to 6 DFD
-There will never be customs, so please don't ask
-Don't claim the breed/species to be your own please
-Don't remove my signature from the image
-Don't ask how to adopt as it clearly says how
-If you do not own it you cannot use the image in any way shape or form without the owners consent
-Absolutely no whining/complaining/fighting
Each player is allotted 3 strikes. You earn a strike when you break a rule. Once you reach three strikes, you will be banned from this thread on a permanent or temporary basis depending on the severity of your rulebreaking.
So far, the Dark Forest Draft is the only Langra horse to be identified by the small team of researchers that have miraculously made their way onto the island. More information about this breed as well as others and other equines will be sent soon.
