While we did have a newer thread, I'm posting this update on this thread as I feel more people probably followed this version of the species.

Please keep in mind nothing is set in stone here. This post is simply a message sharing my thoughts about bringing the group back, and mildly seeking interest if I do. Feel free to leave feedback if you'd like, it certainly helps!

This first bit is moreos just rambling about the past of the species, I'll leave a clear indicator for when the actual important things start if you wish to skip it!

This group has been dead for a long time now, I think that's fairly clear for anyone to see. I made the choice years ago to move the species to solely being handled on deviantART. but that didn't really change anything save for we just didn't exist here on CS. The species hasn't exactly been erased, but it's been inactive for many years now and it's always been at the back of my mind.

See there were a ton of issues with it, I feel. When I first made the species I was young, inexperienced with running species groups, and I didn't really plan things out. Quite frankly it was clear from a mile away that I didn't know what I was doing and the group was a mess.

The species also isn't that creative, it's just dogs with computer heads. Which mind you, isn't a bad thing. But I feel... wrong trying to make an entire species out of something that plenty of people make already as normal characters as is, if that makes sense. Again, not that making species like that are bad, but I've always wanted USB-Dogs to be more creative. However people really seemed to enjoy this species the most out of mine and that made me very happy! They were the first species I put any sort of effort into even if it was small.

Rambling over, actual reason I'm here below!

Truth be told I miss USB-Dogs. Or at least, I miss the concept of them. I'd like to revamp them here. I did nothing with them on deviantART and I miss running groups on CS. I'd like to try and do it properly this time. I will be heavily revamping the anatomy, they will still be canines and they still will be computer based. However I wanna make them be more than just a standard dog with a monitor for a head. Here's a little sketch I did of my ideas.



Basic ideas I do have so far are as follows
-More robotic in appearance
-Sectioned off part of head is a screen, acts similar to how the screens used to look in that it shows expressions and the like!
-Tail is always a long, thick wire with some sort of plug or usb at the end.
-They do not need food or water, simply need to charge. They charge automatically when they sleep, or their tail can be plugged into things to charge them! Don't worry if they run out of charge however, they can't die! They'll just be on sleep mode until they recharge, should they loose full battery.
-They can store information, much like a computer or usb! They can flash bits of into or images of things they've stored on their face screens. Too many items stored however will cause them to act sluggish and tired, and loose charge faster.
-While, if remade, they will have a list of edits, the general anatomy parts that will always remain are:
1. must always have a face screen, screens can be broken/damaged but they cannot be missing their screen.
2. Legs must always be drawn sectioned off like shown in the sketch.

The group itself I hope to have shops, new lines, events, and monthly prompts for starters. We'll have a currency that you can get many ways! I'll probably have ways you can buy the currency, get it in events, raffles, the monthly prompts will hold that purpose as well. You'll get a set list of around 3 different prompts or so you can turn in for currency. I have a lot of ideas that I'd love to do. But before I do that, I'd like to share this post and see who'd be interested. It can sometimes be hard for me to work on projects sometimes and before I go forth putting effort into remaking them I'd like to see if anyone would be interested.

Truth be told, I've been thinking about these guys too, among other old closed species I used to be into here on CS. I personally adore the new concept for them and would definitely be interested in a comeback if they look like that! Back when I first found these guys I was young and generally didn't know how a closed species operated and I will credit these guys among others for helping me get into closed species. If these guys ever come back, count me in for coming back to these guys as well

After considering, and because I quite miss the species still I've decided they will be reopening! I'm working on getting enough up to at least post a thread that can be marked, which I will post here soon
