Are they really going to let a kid go on a dangerous expedition to unexplored space? It just doesn't make sense to me.

Your talking as if you want the thing to be made realistic, but the likelihood is it won't stay so for long. CS is a fantasy site and very rarely do people come so as to roleplay realism.

I would like it to at least stay semi-realistic, yes. I don't think CS is only a fantasy site--half the RP boards are specifically for realistic roleplays.
I'll be honest, kartheans aren't the most 'realistic' alien race--they're too humanoid, physically and culturally, for that. And the whole idea of the RP isn't meant to be completely serious...
But still, when it comes to this aspect of it, I'd like it to make sense. If you really want to play a kid, you could always play a karthean child--there are sure to be some of them around.

I will agree with Cali. A RP can be about science-fiction or fantasy and still be realistic about some aspects, like not bringing a child on a expedition. I could name many example of books or show like that. Not everything is like anime with 15 years old.

Note that "custom" does not mean coloured as your already designed character. This is just a way to get a karthean designed specifically for you and fitting into your guidelines.

Besides, you don't even own that character. Copying her would be art theft.
