Thinking about these guys again! I've been craving some magic ponies haha. I can't guarantee anything because my energy comes and goes tbh, and I'm also currently job-hunting so I won't have a lot of free time, but I thought I'd start picking at these kids again.

What if when a starter was created there would be a job or specific skill they could choose that they could design items/costumes for staff (like artist so they could run stores) and then regular players could then just role play those job options? It might be complex though. Maybe it could be like a commerce center?

I was thinking of doing something like this! Possibly along the lines of:

1. An adopt is created and is a clean slate.
2. Once adopted, the owner can optionally choose to complete special prompts that awards a class to a character (warrior, healer, teacher, etc.)
3. There will be class items in an item shop you can buy* and deck out your pone's character sheet on their archive page like armor, scrolls, holy symbols, etc. Make it shiny! Companions can be applied the same way.
   
   *with a currency gained from completing monthly prompts

What you were thinking of sounds really neat! But a little hard to manage as an oekaki adopt. =)

I'm not planning on adding any activities (like exploring) at the moment. Maybe in the future as a special event?

Right now what I am thinking is every month or so there will be a prompt for owners to reply to. Something like, "It's a really rainy season this year. How does your horse keep dry?" And then users may draw or write a story about their horses finding shelter, using magic, or just flipping the prompt around and in this case enjoying being out in the rain. xD Every user that completes a prompt for the month gets x amount of currency.

I haven't decided what the currency is yet, haha. Gold? Magic gems? Something like that. So say maybe you get five gold for one month's prompt.

There will be a thread that acts as an item shop! There might be usable items there like MYOs or trait tokens that can be applied to your pone, and decorative items like the class items or companions. Maybe a wolf puppy companion costs 10 gold, so you'd have to save up two months' prompts to afford it!

There might also be future events that reward items. Something like, say around Halloween there's a Trick-or-Treat special prompt, and the prize for it instead of currency is a black cat, or a witch's cape. I'm not thinking too hard about that stuff yet and trying to stay focused on the core mechanics right now though.

I will definitely be asking for help as things progress haha. I'll be looking for artists and maybe a mod or two eventually. I'm always open to help or suggestions from folks, especially those with more adopt experience than me.

Presently I'm working on filling in the front pages (about, lore, faq, stuff like that) and editing the art until I feel comfortable splitting it into sub-threads like NPCs, customs, artist search, and the nursery. Filling in the front page is a bit challenging as I'm not that big on writing! xD

After those are done I'll start setting up threads like the archives and bank. I'm not 100% sure how I'm running the archives yet (the options are: running it entirely myself OR having the artist who creates the adopt/nursery batch manage the post for their individual creations--leaning toward running it myself as the latter could get a bit messy.) The bank is going to be run where each user creates their own post with a form, which will act as their bank account. They'll edit their post as they gain and use currency and items, with linked proof for every transaction. Hopefully that will prevent things from getting lost into the void or going unaccounted for!

After that is when I'll start poking at prompts. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to run that yet. One big thread for posting prompts and users posting their responses and confirmation/reward posts? One thread for prompts and archiving them and another thread for user submissions and confirmation replies? HMMM.

At the moment I'm not sure what someone could help me with, but as I go forward I'll be looking for staff. =) In the meantime feel free to post here or PM me with any help and suggestions!
