Name of pup?:
Synexus Delphian.
Why the First and Last?:
Where she originates from all pups are given a first name and a last name. The pup starts out with a first name. Then, when they become of age, they set off on a quest with the others that are prepared to earn their last name and become a true member of the pack.
Gender of pup?:
Lovely and feminine, this pup is definitely one-hundred-percent vixen. More commonly known as female.
History/Bio of pup?:
Told in first person in Syn's perspective. It is told when she is an adult, looking back on her life.
They say that with war and death comes love and peace, forgiveness. Delving deep within the heart of time, one can learn things that benefit them greatly in the future. The heart of time can also been the eye of a tornado, however. It can sweep you up, spit you out in an foreign world with unknown creatures and frightening figures. If you face this alone, it can be hard on you.
The world takes advantage of the weak. It continues to throw hurdle after hurdle at you until you feel like giving up. But it is in the times of complete sorrow that happiness blooms. It is in times of great obscurity that you clouds are pushed away, that the fog is wiped from your vision, that you may see crystal clear. And so it is in times of absolutely weakness that you find an unbelievable, herculean strength hidden inside yourself.
In my case, it could take a very long time to discover this strength. Like me, you may have to go through long, seemingly never-ending bouts of pain and terror to finally feel healed and brave. When I was a child, young and naive, I saw the world as a bright place. It was a land to explore and venture through. But now I see it for what it is - Dark, shadowed, with beams of light shining through the slicing leaves of the black canopy overhead. The light is hard to find in some lives. But when you finally find enough, you may bask in it, so that it overwhelms you and seeps into your very soul, healing those scars and erasing those bad memories.
I bounded through the grasses, chasing after my best friend, Kinekko. He and I looked as though we were playing, but we were really training for the most important day of our young lives. Tomorrow we set off on our journey to earn our place, to earn our belonging. This was in the form of a last name - So simple yet so monumentally significant, meaningful.
"Synexus!"
I heard my name being called. Kinekko and I both whined in unison as his name was called a moment later. "A little bit longer, Mama?" we both asked our mothers, certainly not wanting to go to bed just yet. It was the middle of summer - The sky wasn't even dark yet.
"You both need your rest. Tomorrow is a big day." my mother said softly to us, Kin's mother nodding in agreement.
I groaned, though I knew I wouldn't win this battle. My losing would be inevitable. "Fine. See you tomorrow Kin!"
"Night Syn!" Kinekko replied as he began to trot off beside his mother, into their den which was across from ours.
Despite my playfullness, I found sleep come to me easily. Yawning, I lied down in between my mother and father, my brother draped over my back, and drifted into a peaceful dream.
Panting, sprinting, running. Top speed. Faster, faster. A little bit more... A few more steps. Jump, now! I was going as fast as a could, my sleek feminine body providing good aerodynamics. I was hunting with my pack. And I was fully grown as I leapt onto the back of the deer, biting into the base of its neck as a type of strategy to remain where I was. Kinekko raced beside me, nipping at the hinds of the deer while dodging flying hooves. He looked up to me with a smile, before speeding up so as to get in front of the beast.
He stopped in front of the deer, leaping at it from the front. Abruptly our prey stopped, rearing up and flailing its front hooves. I slid gracefully off of its back, watching as my pack began the circling maneuver, to box the deer in and dizzy it by their circling movement. They'd leap and nip and claw as they went around. We all moved in time with another, like we had been born to move like this. It was a dance, one of death and of blood. We would toe away when the deer lashed out, but fall right back into the rhythm like trained, deadly dancers.
But suddenly it all began to melt away. The deer was... Changing. Becoming a wolf, like me. Pelts all pitch black and eyes glowing crimson red, my packmates turned toward me. Their teeth were huge as they snapped their salivating jaws at me viciously. I saw a flash of white in the mix, however. It was Kinekko, with his emerald green eyes and his heroic stance, rescuing me from the traitors.
We darted away together, running for our lives. The wolves caught up easily, though. They leapt upon Kin's back, slowing him down. I turned back to help him, horrified and sickened by all the blood I saw spattered across his coat. I knew somehow that it was not the blood of the hideous wolves that used to be my pack. Black swarmed over the bloodied white, like a storm cloud covering the sun. All I could see was a frenzy of teeth and claws, fur flying and blood spurting. Then suddenly something slid toward me. It was a mangled body, covered in blood, though I could make out the white pelt and the glassy, lifeless green eyes. One of the wolves had kicked the soulless body of my dear Kinekko towards me.
They were now cackling like mad hyenas, the sky blood red and dark shadows lingering around them. It was like a scene straight out of Hell, I realized. Flames scorched the dying land, the bodies of the dead scattered all over, laying on the ground and even skewered on tree branches. They laughed more as I cried, the sounds sending cold shocks down my spine and chilling me to the bone. As I mourned, sobbing, they turned toward me and ran with an immortal speed, tackling me and blurring my vision with an utter dark blackness.
I woke up screaming and sobbing, my face wet. I was not, however, in my den. And come to think of it, my face was far too soaked for it to have been from tears. When I glanced around, my eyes fell upon the emerald green gaze of an all too familiar face. I shot up, wrapping my paws around his neck and pulling him down into a hug as I buried my frightened, small face into his fur. "Oh Kinekko, thank goodness you're okay..." I murmured into the warmth of his neck.
Kinekko seemed relieved. His muscles had been tensed, but they relaxed into the embrace now. "Thank goodness you're okay." he replied, pulling away and looking at me. "You just kept screaming and screaming and you were lying in a pool of blood... I thought something had happened. You were covered in blood and wounds... They're gone now." he said the last sentence in a frightened tone, as if he were one of the olden-time people who had just witnessed an act of witchcraft. "What happened?" he whispered slowly, softly.
I sat up, glancing at myself. Nothing. No blood, no wounds, no scrapes. "I had a dream that we were adults, and we were hunting. But the whole pack turned into these horrible black creatures with red eyes, and the deer became their leader, and they killed you, and then they killed me and everyone else. The sky was red like blood and there were black shadows and fires everywhere..." I was hyperventilating as I sobbed, tears still running down my face.
"The Shadowed Ones." he whispered, backing away from me.
The Shadowed Ones. It couldn't be, could it? Was I truly cursed? "I'm cursed." I said slowly, the tears running faster. "I-I have to leave. Now."
"But you can't." Kinekko said, putting a paw on my shoulder to stop me. "We'll have Lady Aneya banish them away, we'll get the demons to leave, it'll all be okay."
"You can't banish the Shadowed Ones." I muttered, stepping away from his grip. "I'm on my own from now on."
And so that is how I began my life of loneliness. I have learned much in my years. I am an assassin now, trained and skilled in the art of killing and surviving. I haven't seen my Kinekko, my family, or my pack since that day. I never earned my place in the pack. But I granted myself my own last name - Delphian. It is said to be the name of a true, lone killer.
And that is what I am.
What will be the use of this pup?:
Certainly a character, possibly a future fursona. I will probably also use her in a story, and finish writing the entirety of her life. That was simply an exerpt. In the full story, if I win her, I do plan on showing her as she was growing up alone, with her experiences and new relationships.
Art of pup?:
I'm not a great digital artist, but I'll color-in something later.
Other?:
Thank you for the chance to have this beautiful pup. I love her design and I love the story and personality I have in the making for her. Her future life is sort of based off on the movie Columbiana - The main character's parents were killed and she grew up to be a killer, only to end up getting awesome revenge on the one who ruined her life. Syn's story is a bit different - She is haunted by darkened, Hellish shadows and so she leaves her family, becomes a great assassin, and faces the demon that has destroyed everything she knew and loved to get revenge.
Again, I thank you so much for this mere opportunity, and I can't begin to explain how happy I'd be if I had the privilege of owning this stunning, gorgeous, inspiring creature.
