Why do you want this character/how will you use it?: Well, I want this character because the idea within my head is too interesting to ignore. I would lying if I said I didn't want to be apart of the Karthean society, which was why I had applied for being an artist and am also thoroughly stalking the threads made. I hope that one day I can use my Karthean in a roleplay that I would be more than willing to make.
Character Information: His name is Chess. Chess is a very quite, not too social kind of guy. However, he's incredibly smart and wise as well. He knows what happens within the world and he knows how to best explain it. This makes him invaluable. Chess has a soft spot for children, and when one is in trouble, he will generally appear like a ghost and aid the young'lin. Generally most believe him to be the 'hermit' of the city. What's widely known is that Chess is a type of mercenary, selling out his services for money and one other thing. Information. What's not known about Chess is that, within his small house, there is an underground cavern where he's created the largest libraries known to Kartheans. Within this library, Chess secludes himself to reading and repairing books. It's his only explanation for being so wise and intelligent. Chess is around 35 years, having been bonded at one point in his life, only to have his bonding partner vanish upon turning 20. Chess grew furious, becoming almost like a madman as he searched the country for his partner. When he finally found something, it was the small necklace that he had worn around his neck, the swirling black fire opal stained lightly with his partner's blood. Distraught, Chess returned to his home and he began to train. Occasionally some wondered if Chess had a mentor, but none were ever seen going into or out of his house. That was because within his labyrinth of books are tunnels. Secret tunnels that lead everywhere and nowhere. One such tunnel leads to the castle. It is with this tunnel that Chess goes when he is asked to advice the queen on a certain matter. This is all done secretly of course.
Design Guidelines: Chess is a rather varied Karethean. His skin tone could be considered light, but he has various patches here and there where his skin fades into a darker grey. He has a tribal chess piece tattoo on his chest that is permanent. Through this tattoo however is a long scar. His hair is a very pale alabaster white, fading halfway into a slighter darker tone of light grey. His eyes are heterochromatic, and one is white while the other is amber.
Other: He has a necklace with a small black stone that has a swirl of fire red within it. This was his partner's.

He could always have a name that just happens to sound like Chess, but remember that these are aliens; they might have some kind of strategy game, but it wouldn't be called chess, and the pieces and board would look completely different. Which brings me to the next problem---the tattoo. Chess peices the way we would recognize them wouldn't exits on Aradris, so it would make no sense for him to have a tattoo of one.

Hmm..... Well... what if Chess was just a nickname for something longer?
Like Cheass? Pronounced kai-is.
As for the chess piece, it doesn't necessarily have to resemble a human chess piece.
If you want, I would be more than willing to design a game of chess that solely exists on Aradris.
