Welcome to Psycrystallum Adopts!

Here you will be able to find an abundance of small humanoid creatures known as Psycrystallums, or Psycrys for short. Psycry's are incredibly affectionate creatures, they are much like a cat or a dog in regards to how they act around humans. They can speak in any language a human can, it just depends on what language their owner speaks, for the most part, they just communicate in chirps, clicks, and squeaks with each other. They prefer their native tongue over their butchered human language. In the wild they are found in moist forest areas; like a rainforest or a jungle. They are predators and hunt small mammals, reptiles, birds, and insects to eat. They have sharp fangs and teeth used for tearing apart their prey. All Psycrys have a 'third eye', or a orb somewhere on their body full of psychic energy. Their fluffy ears and tails absorb stray psychic energy and when their fur is full it's all released in the form of heat, not all at once of course, but over a day or two, so watch out during their release days. Along with their verbal communication Psycrys also use the psychic energy to communicate, kind of like scent marking in other species. Despite their vicious behaviours they clean up rather well and make for good companions for humans; this is where all of you come in, there are many Psycrys all looking for a nice home to stay and you're the ones who will give that to them; just look at that face, how could you not? Domestic Psycrys enjoy having their manes brushed and being pampered by their humans; like buying them new clothing, accessories, taking them out to a nice restaurant (to ruin), and so on are all things that these normally feral creatures enjoy about our world, so, if you're interested in one of these little guys then why don't you feel free to read up one these creatures and then scroll back up to look at our selection of them to adopt? They're always coming out of nowhere really, so you're sure to find one that you like.

1. Follow all CS TOS, this means that if you aren't familiar then please go check out all of the art, forum, oekaki, ect. rules, they are in place for a reason.
2. Be polite and courteous to everyone on this thread this means to myself, to other staff, to other posters, to everyone. I do not want any sourness on this thread or in connection to the species.
3. Do not spam, this means I don't want you asking for a custom, don't advertise your shop, thread, trades, ect. here, don't post pointless things.
4. Do not whine or beg about/for a Psycry, that will get you nowhere, and it also counts as spam.
5. I will add more rules as I seem fit. I am hoping you all know how to act because you're not wild animals; the Psycrys on the other hand are a whole other story. Be careful around those little rascals.

Ｓｐｅｃｉｅｓ Ｒｕｌｅｓ;
These rules I will be strict on, please follow my TOS for my creations. Thank you.

1. You may not copy, redistribute, claim as your own, or edit the Psycrys. I will not even give you permission to do so, so don't even bother asking.
2. You may not take this species or lineart off of the website without my permission. If you do take them off the website then please PM me beforehand and make sure you link back to here or my profile, if you're unable to do that then at least credit me at "Slimedog on Chickensmoothie.com" or something similar. If there is another artist who colored in your Psycry make sure that they are credited as well.
3. You may not edit your Psycry's skin, hair, fur, tail, ears, eyes, ect. color. You may not change anything about the Psycry, but you may change their clothing, they very much enjoy having things bought for them, they can't walk around in those drab white towels all the time, plus it'll probably be dirty and ruined by the time you get them settled down.
4. You may not give up your Psycry, trade it away, or gift it without my permission. If you no longer want your Psycry then PM me and I will put it up for readoption. If you would like to trade off your Psycry for someone else's Psycry make sure you PM me first and then PM your trading partner, you may not trade Psycrys off for other species, or non-Psycry characters.
5. Please actually take care of your Psycry, if you adopt it then use it, I do not want you to just hoard them and then never do anything with them, that's a waste. If you do this then I will PM you about it and if you still want it then use it, if not then give it back. If within a week you still don't want to use it then I will take it back and put it up for readoption.
6. You may use your Psycry in RPs.
7. You may draw fanart of the Psycrys, you may host art competitions for art of your Psycry, just make sure you don't break any of the CS rules or any of mine.
8. You may ship your Psycry with someone elses, however for the time being I will not be doing any baby Psycrys or breeding, so just be content with pretending that your Psycry has a life with another one. No babies. None.
9. You may own 4 Psycrystallums; Staff may own 6. Staff may only have one custom, this goes towards your 6 total count. This may change.
10. I will add more as I seem fit, just try to use your common sense and problem solving skills, okay kiddos? Okay.

Artists-Mods

1. You may not issue warnings, strikes, or bans without my permission.
2. You may not act rude to anyone on the thread just because of your authority.
3. Do not hound people, the users of CS are more than capable of behaving, you probably won't be needed as much and that's fine.
4. You can not hire staff.
5. If things get too serious there isn't really much point in reporting it to me, in the long run the actual CS Staff will be your best bet.
6. Make sure you're familiar with the thread and species rules.

1. You may not make any rares, or customs unless you have my permission.
2. You can only make one uncommon per every three commons.
3. Ask me before you do any major edits to the lineart.
4. PM me the winner of your designs after your contest is over, I'm not a psychic I won't know to archive the Psycry unless you tell me.
5. If you aren't sure about something for a design then just ask me and I'll help you.
6. Get familiar with the rarity system so that you make the proper Psycrys.

So, if you're interested in the species I'm assuming you'd like to know a little bit about them, right? If so, then please read below, inform yourself on these little rascals before you go and unleash The Kraken onto yourself adopt one of these little balls of love.

Ｐｈｙｓｉｃａｌ Ａｐｐｅａｒａｎｃｅ;
Psycrystallums are small in size, they only get up to about 4'6 feet in height. The average height for them is about 3'10-4'3ft. They don't get much taller than 4'6ft and not much shorter than 3'5ft. It's rare to see them below or above the minimum and maximum heights. They have anatomy similar to humans but with the added benefits of catlike anatomy as well. They have large, round eyes with slitted pupils. Their pupils dilate or constrict depending on the amount of light in the area they're in, so they have excellent night vision. They're able to see in all colors much like us with the added benefit of being able to see in 'other worlds' due to their psychic abilities. They have long ears with quite a bit of fluff that absorbs sounds and psychic energy, it's said that they can absorb wandering souls as well, but that's just a superstition... or is it? They have long tails as well that serve to help them balance while hunting and give them better posture, much like their ears, their tails absorb psychic energy as well. When Psycry's tails and ears absorb too much energy it's released in the form of heat waves within the span of a day or two, during this time you should be careful about physical contact with them because their body temperatures do get very high. Psycrys have large 'pawfeets' that despite their size, help in helping them muffle their steps and creep up on their prey, on a less morbid note, the pawfeets are very fun to tickle and mess with. Be careful, some Psycrys do not like to have their pawfeets messed with. Similar to their feet they also have 'pawhands', the hands have retractable claws that they use to grip their prey (or the back of your shirt). Most Psycrys are very slender, they have long legs and a skinny belly. On the occasion you will find a chubbier Psycry or one with a bit more muscle, for the most part though they are rather skinny for optimal hunting. Psycrystallums of course have their trademark 'third eye' or orb. The orb can come in a variety of colors and is normally seen on their forehead. The orb is able to sense disturbances in the atmosphere, danger, other Psycrys, and a variety of other things that scientists still aren't all that sure on. The orb also excretes psychic energy that other Psycrys are able to sense and communicate with. The Psycrystallums also have sharp fangs, teeth, and claws all used for hunting. Be careful while playing with your Psycry. Their mane is always incredibly shaggy, it can be a variety of different lengths. They absolutely do not like having their mane touched. Color-wise, Psycrys come in all sorts of shades. Their skin; which is covered in a thin layer of 'peach fuzz' come in the same shades as human skin. Their eyes come in all shades; pink, blue, red, green, you name it, the sclera is normally a very pale version of their iris. Psycry's mane, tail, ears, hands, and feet are all the same color and normally have the same markings. Unlike a Psycry's skin, their fur can come in any color, they can look like a bird of paradise or be similar to an ordinary house cat. Much like people, Psycrys do sometimes have strange mutations, it's rare to see them like that though so make sure you're on the lookout for those rare finds.

Common-Uncommon-Rare

Common Psycrys;
No lineart edits; you used all of the preset ear, tail, hair, or marking options.
Minor clothing or accessory edits; earrings, bracelets, hair clips, ect.
Natural coloring on the body/fur.
Orb on the forehead.


Uncommon Psycrys;
Minor lineart edits; slightly changed tail, ears, hair, or markings(tattoos or scars).
Slightly complicated clothing/accessory edits
Natural coloring on the fur with some unnatural coloring mixed in.
Orb on the chest or belly.

Rare Psycrys;
Major lineart edits; extra tail, complicated markings, custom ears, tail(s), or hair.
Added things such as wings, horns, ect.
Accessory or clothing edits all over the place.
Unnatural coloring
Orb on the hands or feet.

Ｂｅｈａｖｉｏｕｒ;
Psycrystallums in the wild are known for being ferocious predators with no mercy or morals. They are aggressive towards other Psycrys and very territorial in general. They attack almost anything that moves. Domestic Psycrys are a bit more tamed, they are like cats, just a bit more feral, with enough socialization they should be great pets. They are like any other pet really, socialize them and they'll be golden, abuse them and you're gonna have a bad time of it. They're nocturnal and hunt only at night, dusk, and dawn. They sleep during the day. If you disturb on in it's sleep it's sure to attack you, don't be fooled by their small size, they will draw blood. They have a small amount of control over their psychic abilities, they use them to communicate with other Psycrystallums, if alarmed then they will discharge all of the psychic energy in their body and cause a small (or large) shockwave to stun or knock back whatever has scared them, note; this is bad if they are indoors. Psycrys are predatory animals, so even domestic Psycrys will show up with a dead bird in their mouth every once in a while or will be seen chasing bugs out in the yard, they are not good to have if you have other smaller animals. They have been known to be aggressive towards foreign species. While Psycrys are normally aggressive and territorial to each other in the wild they are a bit more tame in captivity and will tolerate each other, just know that a few scuffles will arise. For the most part they will get along with each other. Psycrystallums are also known for being spoiled brats. They like to hoard shiney things and will take all of your socks if you're not careful. If you buy them their own toys and clothing to ruin you should be fine. Psycrys also like to chew on everything and play, you need to be sure that there is nothing of value within their reach or it will be ruined. They communicate in series of chirps, clicks, and 'barks' with each other, they are also similar to parrots because of the fact that they are able to learn butchered human languages. They will not always comprehend what they're saying, but they will be able to at least say something; they're very intelligent. It's unknown on how baby Psycrystallums come into existence, scientists aren't sure if they breed or not. Same sex couples have been seen with babies that look physically similar, and with testing, are genetically similar as well. It is known however that Psycrys do not mate for life in most cases in the wild, in captivity they do. They are fiercely protective over their young.

All in all they are much like any other living species and you just need to test out and see what they like and dislike. They all have their own unique personality for you to discover.

Ｈａｂｉｔａｔ;
Psycrystallums are found in most rainforest or jungle ecosystems. They play the role of predator in their environments, that's not to say that they don't have a few predators of their own. Due to decreasing living space they've been causing trouble for rural humans and are hunted down by farmers, ranchers, and their populations are kept in check by rangers. They do not do well in cold environments and in most cases they get sick and most of the time die in the cold. If you live somewhere cooler then make sure they stay inside and are bundled up in multiple layers when they go outside. They do best and thrive in warmer climates and tropical areas. Not only do they enjoy the warmth but like all of the colorful greenery to explore in. Do not confuse warm environments with deserts, they do not do well in those either and will overheat, they've been known to fall into a depression of sorts in desert environments due to lack of stimulation in the bland areas. Domestic Psycrys need a lot of space to play in and lots of different toys to stimulate their wild lifestyle. They are strictly carnivorous and still have their predatory instincts, so be sure to keep them away from your neighbor's cat. They are naturally curious as well, so make sure that they can't escape and hurt themselves because they will go up to a speeding car to 'examine' it.

July 30th, 2014; I've come off of my temporary hiatus! Thank you to everyone for being patient.
I've also updated the rules to include rules for staff, so please if you're apart of the staff then go and take a look at those.
July 22nd, 2014; A new rarity ranking system has been made and will now be implemented, it's a bit less complicated and should be easier for the artists to follow. Your Psycry's rarity may change because of this.
Psycrys #4, #5, and #7 have been adopted out.
July 21st, 2014; Psycrys #1, and #2 have been adopted! The contests for Psycry #4 and #7 will be ending today! Psycry #5 is still awaiting the announcement of the winner! Psycry #6 is still available!
July 18th, 2014; There's been an update to the physical appearance of the species! Scientists have discovered that Psycry's fur (hair, paws, tail(s), and ears) can come in more than just the natural colors we thought they could only be before! Be on the lookout for a few more colorful Psycrys! Their skin still remains to only come in natural colors like humans.
I am also working on a way to classify Psycrys better, I will be trying to make up a easy to follow system for the artists to see if you have a rare, uncommon, or common Psycry. Our current system leaves a lot to be desired.
Also, Psycry #3, now known as Keahi, has been adopted. He's the first ever Psycry to be adopted! Feel free to look at the available Psycrys if you'd like one for yourself!
