Idk where else to ask but. What shoes ya'll wear for those who work in the healthcare field? I'm having trouble picking out my next one
So far I'm comtemplating the Hokas, NB, On Clouds, Brooks, and Stand+
Open to any recommendations! Or share your experience with the shoes you've worn (good or bad)

One of my staff members keeps raving to me about how good his work shoes are, and he told me they're called gravity defiers. We work on concrete floors all day so I have to believe him! I have skechers and they're....just ok. They last me about a year before I cant stand wearing them (pain) or they start falling apart. A lot of people in our center wear crocs(apparently good for back support) but I personally can't stand how they feel.
OH I've also heard of something called "shoes for crews"? For work shoes.

never heard of those! i went for the brooks any who but ty for the suggestion :) the first few days were really hurting my feet but i think its mainly bc i haven't broken into them yet. 4th day was a lot less pain. i cant do crocs for work bc im scared of bodily fluids splashing in the holes lmao. i do have a pair for casual wear though they're really convenient to slip on for quick errands!

i know you already decided, but i'd like to put in my two cents! not a healthcare worker but i work at a job where im on my feet for long hours. i have one pair of brooks and one pair of hokas. imo, the brooks are more comfy than the hokas, but the hokas have better arch support. both are non-slip but hokas have given me more traction than the brooks. neither are 100% a solution to my feet hurting at the end of the day but they do help tremendously. i'd also recommend getting custom insoles if you have really bad foot, knee, and/or hip pain because a professional will be able to find the best match for you.

honestly my final decision was btwn the brooks and hokas so your comments are spot on! im sporting the brooks adrenaline gts 23 currently, but my twin (shes also a nurse) wears hokas :3 I do love my brooks though! it took me about a week to break them in but now i'm experiencing basically little to no pain standing for 8+ hours/day. While I don't think they have as much cushion as the hokas, they do great with walking support

Just wanted to comment as a runner and former shoe store worker. Brooks and Hokas are by far my favorites. The Brooks Glycerin is their best/highest cushion shoe that I love, but I run in the Ghosts almost exclusively now (one marathon, the training, and my normal weekly runs). Hokas are also awesome, the Bondi is like *the* most cushioned shoe I think I’ve ever seen, but the Arahi is the best as far as arch support and cushion.
I love the suggestion for inserts - I feel like that would be the biggest difference between wearing them all day and how I experience the shoes with running. A good pair of inserts is expensive but custom and long lasting.
I hope your shoes treat you well!

I love giving gifts so PM me if you know a deserving user (;

Hoka 1 running shoes; find older pairs on Ebay,or go to their "back-door/factory-store," online( get a computer-expert to search for it,I lost it.It's a page of much-less priced shoes.I have terribley-bad feet,I wear the thickest-soled runners, (now severral years old, only the tongue is worn out).--Otherwise, the latest thickest new ones are three-hundred dollars a pair.--which is rediculous; all the nurses wear them,they ain't billionaires, I know they aren't!---Great little cloud-stompers! heh.
This is the best website!

this is really great info thank you! >:) i honestly went with the adrenaline gts over the ghosts or glycerins bc of the looks lmao. I'm currently sporting the black/grey/purple runway and have gotten a few compliments on them at work :3 (white isn't really a practical color for my workplace but damn the colorway is just so clean..) Anywho, I'm honestly thinking about getting another one (the white/illusion blue runway looks so clean) just for casual wear but i'm also considering another brand like the nb 9060 or 530s since i try not to keep it different/not get repeats. its so tempting though bc them brooks are so comfortable:sobs:

i'll keep those shoes on the look out! might try em out next time in store. honestly its worth investing in a couple pair of comfy shoes for work; I don't really look at the price as long as they treat my feet well. it'll save me money in the long run anyway!
As a nurse, I could never say no to a set of nice (good-looking) scrubs and shoes bc at least I'm dripped out if i'm having a bad shift 😎😮💨

I honestly just get normal tennis shoes. XD Nothing fancy. I think my older is just a $60 pair of Nikes and the newer might be New Balance? In my opinion, it doesn't have to be super fancy or expensive. But everyone also has different needs for their feet and body, so ultimately it'll be whatever you're comfortable standing and walking in for several hours across (possibly) tile flooring.
