Does anyone?

Postby fluffypancake » Mon Mar 23, 2015 2:26 pm

Hello all!
I was curious to see if anyone one was interested or a part of a Japanese Fashion trend called Lolita..
If you clicked on this thread and have no idea what the heck lolita is..
It's a Japanese street fashion, that I believe stared in the late eighties,in Harajuku.. I believe I spelled it right.
It is known to be quite delicate and doll like, and very modest style fashion which is always a plus in my book. xD
The clothing is mainly inspired by Rococo and Victorian eras.
It's really cute and has many substyles. I would suggest looking it up for more info, and pictures, but be careful there are some over the top lolitas. ^^
As for me I'm interested in joining lolita, though I have a lot of saving to do, I'm interested in going into the Classic style I find it really pretty, and elegant. I would like to talk to people who might be interested in it, or who is in Lolita, or to anyone in general really.
What's your opinions on the fashion? What other Japanese fashion styles do you like?

I've always thought lolita fashion was very pretty, especially the pastel sweel lolita dresses. Unfortunately they're usually pretty expensive and I can never afford them, I don't make enough right now to waste on dresses despite how much I would love to.
I personally think the gothic style would fit me more because of how I look in general and my hair.

I love sweet lolita, a lot of the dresses are super cute, and in all honesty easy to find. Though my parents would probably kill me for wearing it, since my parents are still iffy about the whole lolita, but if I'm paying for it, it doesn't really matter. Though like you said with Gothic, Classic may fit me better, due to the fact I don't wear a lot of pastel colors. Plus I love a lot of the floral a-line dresses. Gothic is really pretty, I love some of the cuts on the dresses.
Plus I understand, it's extremely expensive, especially brand, but there are some cheaper places to get it, the most popular is bodyline, there is a lot f cute stuff, for sweet, and I believe some gothic. I just have a hard time finding classic styled stuff. I've seen videos and read about it online, they recommend bodyline, especially for beginners... So if you are extremely interested and don't feel like throwing over three hundred dollars just, or more on a dress alone, which is hard. I find it surprising that people can do that. Than I suggest looking there.
You can also look for second hand dresses on either Lacemarket, or EGL community sales, plus I believe there are some facebook ages.
Just to let you know I believe most of them you need a paypal account. I don't know for certain, but I think that is how it is.
There may be other places depending on price ranges, but I won't bore you with it if I think of any, unless it is wanted.
Though you may already know all of this, than I'm sorry for boring you with things you already know.
It will take me a lot of saving, Dx

I don't plan on joining the lolita community but I love the way it looks! The style is very cute, my personal favorite is sweet lolita (: everything is so pastel and girly

Buying the dresses can be very expensive, and you want to make sure you get them from good stores. When shopping for a dress or accessories for lolita always check reviews! Because it's very common to be scammed out of quality and end up getting cheap material/awful quality.
And you can also make your own coordinations as well (that link has a TON of different tutorials, so even if you can't sew there are crafty accessories you can make ^^)
