Question about fursonas?

Until recently, I haven't spent too much time toying with the idea of a fursona. I've had many, many characters, but I never quite understood the concept behind it- and I'm still not entirely sure. I've been told that it's wrong to have more than one fursona because each person is unique, etc. I know that your fursona should basically come to you, and that you should identify with it without necessarily having to personally embody the traits of whatever animal it is...so I know that I wouldn't have a wolf or a horse.

Anyway, I was wondering- could I get some explanations of one? Is it wrong to actually have two? Can a fursona have characteristics of more than one animal? If you're a girl, can your persona be a male? I really just need a thorough explanation, if anyone can give me one that'd be great. Even over PMs would be okay.

Is it wrong to actually have two? Nope, some people have many fursonas, to expres different parts of who they are.

Can a fursona have characteristics of more than one animal? A fursona can be anything or any combo of anything.

If you're a girl, can your persona be a male? Yup, Sure can.

YOU are the only person who can say what your fursona can be. If you want it to be a cyborg Hyenafish, then make it so.

An animal representation of you, it would be you in animal form. Or an animal you like. Mine is a zorse because I like zorses. I am not a zorse, I do not have the spirit of a zorse, I just like them.

Yep, it's not really needed to be the same as your 'sona.. I mean look, not personality :p

I guess personality must be for big part yours, and look.. can be with accesoires you like, Or maybe some you own yourself? the options are endless =]

My fursona right now (and my patronus xD) is a snow leopard...she's fairly normal, except halfway down her body her spots begin lightening until they're almost white on her tail. And she wears a tear-drop shaped moonstone necklace. Not much else. I feel like this is right, but then when I first started trying to draw my fursona I ended up with a Goodfellow's tree kangaroo that has sloth-like claws and spotting on the shoulder like a leopard.

So obviously those two are totally different

Actually, I hate kangaroos. The Goodfellow's tree kangaroo is the only one I like. xD But it's a male, which is why I thought it was totally wrong. And I've always had Alabaster as a character <3 She came to me really easy.
