Grr D:

Postby Melusine » Fri Mar 05, 2010 9:21 am

Rawr.

I spent... an hour... writing a character page... when I was *clearly* logged on...
And guess what happened?
I go to save it as a draft, and it's like, "You must be logged on to post on this board." D:<
I WAS LOGGED ON. Why does this site log me off when I'm in the middle of writing something? Argh! D<
And I log on, hit "back", and then all my work is GONE.
Is there any way this can be fixed so it -won't log me off-?

And my point is, I -was- logged on. D:

Why did you not write it first place in a text programm, like word so something similar? So you can save it on your pc and also catch any typos that might occur.

You could also always check the box "Log me on automatically" (or something similar) when you log on next.

I don't have any text programs.

Edit: And it doesn't work on my computer, for some reason.

This had happened to me once, someone said something about cookies. Have you cleared your cookies?

that sucks! Sometimes when I'm worried about that happening (not necessarily on this site, but in general) I copy (control + c) my writing in case I lose it so I can just paste it. It's saved my writing a few times, but mostly I forget to do it lol

I had that happen when I was working on a long trading topic. >,<* Did you hit the back button? That's what saved me.. I got back to that original page and copied it real quick.

I don't know what kind of browser you use, but some of them save the information you type in as well, so you'd just have to find it.

If you use Mozilla Firefox as your browser there's an add-on that you can download, called Lazarus: Form Recovery 2.0.5. It'll save what you've typed on forums, blogs, forms, etc. It's extremely handy in situations like yours. It's saved me from loosing important things many times. I highly recommend it! :)

Here's the link where you can download it:

If it happens again, you could always log in right then and then hit the "Back" button until you get back to your topic you were writing in. Then, when you hit submit, it will submit it. =3

That's happened to me before but I usually don't write that much but I have to sometimes get up for a while. And then, when I sit back down, I am logged out. I believe CS logs you off automatically after 30-45 minutes.

Or, you can just keep "preview"ing it, even if it's just to see how it looks. Any activity on the forum will keep you logged in. =3

I hoped this helps.

Are you sure that you've got no programs that allow you to type on? D:
Sometimes, they're hiding under all of your files. I didn't know that I had MS Works Processor until I went through all of my programs and looked for it. I've been using WordPad (if you have it, check under "Accessories").
