Needing Ideas For a Story!

Postby belle reve » Wed Feb 01, 2012 11:12 am

Hey! So, um... I need an idea for a story. I absolutely love writing, and sometimes post a story here. Lately, I've been wanting to, but am having an idea's block. No, not writer's block. I still write all the time on rps! But, what should I write about for a story?

Starters:
•I love Hunger Games and am in a few rps for it (<3 the books!)
•I like the Percy Jackson series and can't wait until Mark of Athena
•I used to be in love with the Warriors series
•I watch Glee
•I am in and participate in a rp I created about kids on the street. (In my Siggy: Welcome to My Life)

Examples of my Writing:

Hunter walked along, not noticing Toshio. She pulled the money out of her pocket, re-counting it to make sure how much money was there. As it turned out, Hunter actually had $20, not $16. She walked toward Walmart, being the first time she had more than 25¢. As lame as it sounded, it was exciting for her. She could buy a whole new outfit, if she chose correctly. Before stepping in, she didn't want to look completely horrible and homeless, so she stepped beside a parked car. Peering into a tinted window showing her refelction, the girl fixed her two braids without undoing them, and straightened out her clothes a bit. Afterwards, she spun around and walked a few blocks to reach the store. She still had two more blocks to go, and ket a lookout for loose change. As she went, she hummed the tune to 'Moves Like Jagger.' (Welcome to my Life)

Hunter finished the orange, wiping off her hands on her torn-up, paint-splattered jeans. She thought for a minute. She seriously needed new clothes. And cleaning up glass she broke wouldn't pull it off. No, she needed something different. The girl earlier... she picpocketed. She paused, considering bringing that up. Sadly, the last time she did that was back in the city of Dallas, Texas, when the person just so happened to be the mayor. She had the skill to do it, but his agents eventually tracked her down, and she went to juvy for a few months. Not fun and not her style. But, should she try again? No harm in doing it, I guess She walked up behind a man, simply plucking his wallet from his pocket without a sound and with little movement. She made sure to block the site of it from anybody behind her, and walked on, climbing up a tree a few feet away. Once in the cover of leaves, she leaned her back against the trunk and let her leg hang don, being the only thing 100% visible. She opened the wallet to find 16 dollars. It's a start, I guess. But I won't do this again for a while. She tucked the money in her pocket and walked behind the man once more silently and returning the wallet to the back pocket. (Welcome to my Life)

Hunter walked the streets, biting into a juicy orange she had tricked a man into giving her. She held the peelings in her hand, taking a quick stop at the park. She tossed the peelings into some dirt encasing roots of trees which grew there. This was a causal thing, and no one questioned it. By this time, they all knew it was the homeless girl who lived in the alley trying to help. of course, that wasn't entirely true. She wasn't as interested in repaying or helping out rather than not being driven out of the city. She had lived her for a while, and didn't want to go back to any of her old homes or start a new life. Sometimes, it was so bad, she had to change her image completely to go to a nearby town. Then, of course, she would change it back to an unsuspecting place. She didn't like being driven out, but with a girl like her, things had to slip out eventually. (Welcome to my Life)

Well, her history is a little rough. A Peacekeeper ended up having a daughter, which was her. Of course, it was illegal, so the man went to extremes to keep his mother and her safe. He stowed them away in his house, but sadly, it was the attic. The conditions were horrible, and her mother's health began to deteriorate. Spark tried various things, but it was no use. Her mother did not die, though. Eventually, as she was on the brink of death, the Capitol found out. Well, about him being married. Not the child. People invaded the house, including the attic. Sparky hid in a corner while her mother sacrificed herself. She was forced to watch the beating of her mother and father to their deaths. She wanted to help, but it would make matters worse for them. Their deaths would be slower and much more painful. She escaped when the coast was clear at age 7, the image haunting her mind for the rest of her life. She managed to find a home with her mom's cousin's house, and claims them as her parents. She won't take a sob story, so she never tells. (It Only Takes One Match... (Hunger Games)

Spark walked down the newly-swept streets with her small group of friends.
She twirled the hem of her dress, accidentally zoning out of her friend Zora's talking.
They're all so confident, so wanting, to be chosen, She thought. They're like the rest of District 1. Does this make me inferior? She gave a inaudible sigh and kept pace with her group, looking down the the ground. Accidentally, as they entered the city circle for the reaping, she clashed into a man. She stumbled backward, with a little help from his light shove. "S-Sorry!" She muttered. Spark walked away quickly, twirling a lock of her hair from her ponytail. Already I've started off the reapings on a bad foot! I just hope the odds are in my favor... my name is only in there five times, after all. The girl was snapped into reality from her own thoughts when her friend, Laden, prodded her in the side. He asked her how many times her name was in there. "Five'" She responded. He told her that his and Zora's names were in there fourteen times each. Not that they needed the tesserae, of course. Their families were some of the richest in the District! In fact, Laden's father was the mayor, so his family definitely didn't need it. Spark let out a small sigh and nodded to signal she heard him. Soon after, she drifted back into her world of thoughts. Sadly, she was interrupted once more, except with real news. Real horrible news. Her head jolted up as the lady leading the reapings for District 1 called her name. Without hearing more, it came rushing on her fast. Her cousins, her life, her cat, her friends, everything.
This is what would now be gone, because she was now a tribute in the Hunger Games. (It Only Takes One Match... (Hunger Games)

Spark was ushered away without a word, shuffling her feet quickly. Some Peacekeepers had to keep either carrying her or prodding her with a stick because she would become to scared to move. The horror, the disbelief, everything kept crashing down upon her all at once, paralyzing her with shock. Often times throughout the short walk, Spack would collapse to the floor, mind completely blank. After all of the falling, she at last was led into a white room in the Justice Building. Is this where they hold the mental people? She thought. Breathing quickening, she restrained herself from banging on walls and crashing into the door. Instead, the nervous girl seated herself on the white velvet couch. She stroked it, trying to place her mind someplace else. This is not a mental hospital. This is not where I will stay for the rest of my life. I will soon be out of here. Someone will take me out soon. This is not like a jail. I am safe here, but I will not stay here. Everything will be okay, everything is fine. After cooling herself down just enough to retain from crying, her aunt walked in, face red and blotchy from crying. At the site of her, Spark immediately broke down, bending her head into her lap. Her aunt quietly sat beside her, stroking her back. She whispered things saying that things would be okay and everything would work out, but Spark kept shaking her head, still not looking at anyone. After a few minutes, Spark sat up to face her aunt. She took a deep breath and managed the words:
"Tell me the truth. I'm gonna die, aren't I?" (It Only Takes One Match... (Hunger Games)
