Not looking for advice just wanted to share this story c: This might be kind of long...
I was talking with two (girl) friends and so of course the subject of boys came up. (Don't judge lol, I'm only able to get together with one of them twice a year, we had to catch up.) One of my friends (the one I see every week) said that if I asked a guy (one BP) out he would probably say yes. This actually surprised me because BP and I are friends but not necessarily close. My friend said he seems to like me and pay more attention to me than the other girls in our youth group. (Please note that BP is everybody's favorite person because he's so nice and caring or everybody and yet he's a bit timid but is friends with EVERYBODY.) I thought, surely not. He's just a nice person. I figured, of course he doesn't like me romantically. BP has told my friend that he has been in love with her sister since the 7th grade (he's now a senior). And he's not the kind of guy who would lie about that kind of thing. So I'm rooting him on to woo her but I started noticing how he acted pretty awkward around me and wanted to share the cute awkwardness with you guys.
At church camp.
Firstly, at camp everybody is organized into different colored teams and BP and I were the only ones in the youth group to get team blue. So that started our friendship because he's timid and shy around strangers and we'd met before which brings me to the next awkward thing.
At lunch is was introduced to another youth member (Even though we've been introduced before) and said youth member said, "sorry, I don't remember being introduced to you before."
BP then blurts, "she comes to youth group all the time!" He quickly snapped his mouth shut as everybody kind of glanced at him. I quickly moved the conversation on thinking nothing of the fact that he's noticed me before.
Then at a game the entire camp played they tried getting everyone in a circle but it wasn't working so they called out for everyone to grab hands and step back to form a better circle and BP looked at me kind of horrified

So we had to hold hands for like 10 seconds and he avoided eye contact. His hands were warm, almost sweaty, if I remember correctly.
I had never heard him make a sarcastic comment before and he made one and one of the guys there was like, "There's the BP I know!" I found it odd that he must've been acting different.
As an activity the youth pastor asked each person in our youth group to choose two people to brag about and I was one of his people. He said he was impressed that I was being social and friendly to everyone since I was kind of new and that was my first year at camp.
Then at lunch on the way home after camp he sat with me and my friend instead of the other guys of the youth group and the three of us conversed with each other like regular friends. It was pretty chill.
So yeah... now I'm under the impression that he likes me but I doubt he'd ask me out. And I'm totally okay with us just being friends.
