Please excuse this long message. It basically is about "I know he's flirting, but in what way..."

So me and one of my bestfriends went on this camping trip with our class. (He's a guy)
It was four days long and I slightly picked up on some flirting. The only thing is. He keeps saying he doesn't want to date anybody and so on.
Here's what happened.

1. We were hiking and I was carrying my backpack with stuff in it. I set it down to get my water and he picked it up and carried it, not giving it back even when I tried to take it back.
2. One night we were watching a movie in the main hall we were staying at and at 10 he went to bed. Not ten minutes later he came out, laid on the couch next to me, and tried to take my pillow from me. I wouldn't give it to him so he just laid closer to me and put his head on the pillow beside my head. He also pulled the blanket I was using over and used half of it.
3. We were canoeing and I was shaking the canoe a bit and he decided he would tip it over. We were both in jeans and got soaking wet. He wasent wearing his shirt under his life jacket so he put it on and offered me his hoodie, which I didn't need since I had another jacket.
4. We were staying in like a dorm thingy so we had rooms. I went in his room and we hung out with a few other friends. I was cold so I used the blanket on the empty bed. He came over and sat really close to me and used half the blanket.
5. We has to do this maze thing blindfolded in the dark, and after we had to sit in a big open field and wait for our instructors to come back. I was laying in the field and he came and laid so his shoulders and hips were touching me. So I kinda shuffled over.
6. On the way home I fell asleep on the bus. I guess I fell asleep on him shoulder. So I woke up halfway through and I was laying on his shoulder, his head was leaned up against my head and he was slouched over against the seat so it looked like we were cuddling...

So yeah... If anyone could tell me is he is flirting because he can, and lying about "not wanting to date anyone" or whatever you think would be great. thanks.
(Just saying. I'm not intristed in dating him, I just want to know what he means when he's doing that.)

Well from what you've described, it sounds like he likes you. But clique has it, he feels the need to repress his affection. He proably says that to you to cover up his feelings.

so question. i have started having a crush on one of the guys at my scout group.
he is a good year-and-a-half older than me. he possibly likes me; i know that he doesn't have a girlfriend at this current time. but my question is that i'm worried that (even if he does) if i say anything or am found out it might ruin the dynamic of the group somehow (all younger than me apart from him), which i can't have. thoughts please anyone?

Okay, so, today my mother came with me to my robotics meeting. And she concluded that, after not paying attention to the game and rules, that a majority of the boys on the team have crushes on me. No. Anyone but me, really. I could care less about their feelings about me, until now. I'm just confused on why it's me. Below is what see concluded.

Well, first of all around five guys stood up and waved and screamed when I walked in the room and did it to no one else.
-Sheer coincidence. My logic is they waved up until me and then just forgot or didn't want to.

One or two kept looking at me, the others avoiding eye contact.
-I have a theory one likes my friend and was looking for her, because he HAS accidentally told his friend he liked one of us while she was behind him. She's told me she thinks he said her, but it's not confirmed.

One kid looked over at me getting up and then made SURE to follow in behind me. I actually did see him do this, he circled around two or three times, staying around where I was (but I was near the game field, it could have been he was just looking at the field).
- My logic is he just circled around without knowing, because he WAS in a group with girls who he knew like him.

Well, there is a boy in my class that I like, and he is really kind, funny, smart, fast...he excels in almost every class. We've been friends for a few years, and only recently have I felt like he is more than a friend to me. Only one of my 3 best friends, other than my crush, knows. One of them because I don't think she'd be too interested and the other because we just became friends this year, and I'm not sure how she'd react, though I'll tell them both eventually. Anyways, I'm not sure how he feels about me, and since we all go our different ways next year, I'm not sure what to do. I'm way to shy to ask him out, and I truely just want him to know how I feel. I don't have the guts to tell him, though I'm considering asking my only friend who knows if they can say something like "Y'know, I think _______ may have a crush on you" and get them to say how he reacts. He may just mask his emotions, and may try to be awkward IF he does like me. If not, It really will be awkward for him . Is it worth a try, or is it too risky? I don't want to ruin our friendship, but I really like him. Any ideas?

I don't think it is too risky, and seeing as it is your last year, I would go with having your friend say that. People these days are constantly putting couples together and saying someone likes this person, so you should not worry too much. (At least that is how it works at my school). How does this boy treat you when you two talk and how does he act around you?

Thanks for the help here! So, he likes to joke around with me a lot and he tells me funny stories and things that have happened to him. He seems to trust me, and he really just treats me like a friend. The thing is, he and the other 3 boys in my class who go on the same bus as me... they all seem to treat me as one of the guys, and I'm not sure if the guy I like thinks that I'm more like one of the guys or its just a cover up. But I will be getting my friend to hint him about my feelings-so really, thank you!

I don't think its weird at all. I've liked guys three years younger then me before.
