Role Play Rant Thread V.2

My english teacher does not believe that RPing is good writing practice. I very strongly disagree with this, it's just as much practice as writing a story, maybe even more because you have to work with how much info someone else gave you.
My rant:
My english teacher got mad at me for RPing (not during class btw) >.<

I started writing way before I started RPing...
Eh...Four years ago?
All I wrote was warriors, though, and it REALLY SUCKED.
Now, I'm a lot better ^^

I find that roleplaying really does improve your literary skills. C: All I used to do was roleplay using.. Not even one-liners.. I'm ashamed to say that. But after roleplaying for about.. Three years, I'm convinced that it was because of roleplaying, that I'm able to do so well in english right now. ^^

So I don't see why your teacher should be so mad. :v

Although I don't RP here on CS, I strongly disagree with your teacher.
I started RPing (on Proboards and such) when I was twelve. Granted, I was horrible, but still.
Eventually, I got better, and could write 1000+ word replies.
Interacting with other people expanded my vocabulary, and now English is a really strong subject of mine.
I know words my classmates don't because I used them in context in role playing.

Last year I did a report on Role Playing. My teacher loved it because I went into its history, which started out with English Men writing plays and such. Fun, huh?

Rant: Guh! There are no good RPs out right now! Why does my muse fail me?

One: My roleplaying on illiterate roleplays has turned into an experiment. I'm disgusted with my curiousity at it.

Ok so I left a rp for a few hours to go swimming plus the a powerline snapped. (thank yew generater.) So I cime back the rp leaped about 15 pages what the crap???

About your teacher;
Everyone else is basically saying what I wanted to say. I started role playing before I started writing, and was in fact comended on most of the essays I turned in to my teachers in highschool. Even now, through college, my teacher was excited to read any of my essays I handed in to her. I thank the fact I started role playing when I was 13 years old, and did nothing but until I was 19 years old. It was just recently I started doing it again.
Along with reading and writing (and role playing) my grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, word comprehension, etc. were drastically changed in the best of ways.
I haven't roleplayed in two years, and well, i'm not as good as I was before. Sadly enough.
Either way, you're teacher is a loon, and can't tell you what you can and can't do in your private time. She's not your mother or your father and has no right.

RANT: No one replies to this african role play in two or three weeks, and finally someone posts? Ugh, that thing is dead. Just let a dead thread stay dead.

I kinda want to roleplay my oriental dragon, Sa, but I don't think there are many roleplays that will allow a child dragon who was chosen to harbor the spirit of a young prince,who had a magical item of sorts at the time, and has been hunted down by warriors who wants to capture him so they can reincarnate the prince to use for evil deeds...Not unusual at all, right? That's my rant, so I think its better if I go with a story or something cx

[However, now that I mention it, Sa the Dragon HAS somehow landed himself in lion-only roleplays, deer-only roleplays, horse-only roleplays, and wolf-only roleplays before. Hmm...He's a popular dragon...]
