finally the mushrooms are really coming through this season <33 found some special stuff recently, especially today!!
all of these images are original content!!!

found this coral like mushroom on a down log right in the path, calling my name <3 thought this looked absolutely beautiful c:

im unsure of what this one is, but there were many of them scattered throughout the woods, and they were huge!!! they look pretty similar to what's known as the 'platterful mushroom' .

these orange little guys, they sort of resemble wax caps. i picked one to study and take notes on for when i get home. the gills are decurrent, and almost look like ridges like a chanterelle. im super curious to know what these are so i took a photo of the stem and gills, took some notes, and im going to post it on another mushroom forum else where for opinions : D

these aren't mushrooms, but they so have this underground relationship with fungus to grow. they're called ghost pipes! theyre parasitic plants that don't have any chlorophyll, so they don't need light to grow. instead they rely on certain mushrooms and fungi to grow : ) theyre apparently endangered in some areas of the world if not many, but they grow borderline invasive where i live. this is the biggest cluster i think i've ever seen!

photo 1 is a slime mold i believe is 'stemonitis' species. it is commonly referred to as chocolate tube slime for it's brown and tubular look. i've seen this genus/species quite a few times. if u touch it, brown dust (spores) will fly out into the air : )
photo 2 is the first time i've seen this slime mold. i wish i had a better camera </3 it was in a few areas of the forest, but it was definitely some sort of slimey substance and i presume it is a slime mold. looks super cool up close tho, all though it would be so much cooler with a macro lense !!!

these weird white, dusty fingers were everywhere within a couple square yards growing through leaf litter. i noticed that they seem to be covered in white dust, and when you'd touch them, it would have the same dusting affect the chocolate tube slime had, all though this is clearly a mushroom. they seemed to spread spores really easily, it was no wonder they were covering the forest floor!! first time seeing this i think though.

i found these ink caps about a week ago behind my house.they were rather large, but im not sure they resemble shaggy mane enough to call it that. this was my very first big find this summer!
