YOUR QUESTION: I'm mostly wondering if I've answered this question right (and if not what needs to be changed)
Solve the equation: 2 log(3) x- log(3) 7x=1
Which can also be written as:
log(3) x^2-log(3) 7x=1
So:
log(3) x^2/7x=1
3^1=3=x^2/7x
21x=x^2
0=x^2-21x
0=x(x-21)
Therefore x=0 or x=21
(But as it can't be zero it's just 21?)
This looks correct to me. ^^

I HAVE A QUESTION!
TYPE OF QUESTION: Math
YOUR QUESTION:
You school football team wants to make a new banner to display at the district tournament. The rectangular banner will be dark red, with a white ribbon border. The length of the banner needs to be 15 feet. What are the possible widths of the banner if the length of ribbon available is 46 feet.
Part A: Write and solve an inequality to find the possible widths of the banner.
1. The banner has a length of 15 feet and an unknown width. Write an expression to describe the length of ribbon that will be needed. Remember, the perimeter of a rectangle is twice the length plus twice the width. (w = width)
2. The length of ribbon available is 46 feet. Write an inequality that compares your expression from part 1 with the length of the ribbon available.
3. Use the inequality from part 2 to solve for the width of the banner.
4. Write your answer in a sentence.
Part B: Assume that the banner needs to be 18 feet long instead of 15 feet. How wide can it be to have enough ribbon to go around?
1. Rewrite the inequality using an 18-foot length instead of 15.
2. Solve this inequality for w.
3. Write your answer as a sentence.
I'm sorry that it's really long, this is the last question to a packet that I can't seem to figure out.
I'm not really good at this stuff and I've been trying it for a couple of days.

@L.V.L
I'm not sure if I understood this correctly since I don't know English mathematics terms, but I would calculate the width using the known numbers. Thus 15 + 15 since it needs to go around the banner, equals 30 feet. Then the length of the ribbon that remains; 46-30 = 16. You divide that by two to get the width. B is the same, but with 18 feet as the length.

I HAVE A QUESTION!TYPE OF QUESTION: Science Interview Questions
YOUR QUESTION:For science my teacher wants us to pick random students/people to answer 3 questions to see if they actually know the answer or not. I've gotten 3/5 people so far, and decided that I should ask some strangers on here and see if they know anything.
1) Explain how seat belts work and why they are so valuable.
2) Compare and contrast the terms mass and weight. Explain at least 4 differences or similarities.
3) State, in your own words, each of Newton's laws of motion. Give an example of each law as well.
I really don't know why she's making us do this, but it's a test grade so I must do it.

It's currently 8pm here and due tomorrow... yes I waited until the last minute.... don't judge.

The general public is very ignorant

I'm pretty sure I see almost exactly why these questions were chosen. I'm guessing you're in grade school? I estimate you'll start losing faith in humanity around the time you finish grade school.
Or, if that attitude in the part I quoted keeps up for the rest of your grade school years... you're going to be quite horrified at the real world once you finish grade school. Better start looking for the point of schoolwork now! Might take a while to see the lessons past the work itself, though; the public education system is currently in a bad cycle of the higher-ups attempting to instill a love of learning in rebellious kids. Can be challenging to start seeing the point of schoolwork once you're past the first half-ish of primary school if you didn't already figure out how to do so.
Was your pet adopted December 18, any year, or December 24, 2011? It is most likely an older pet! CLICK ME to identify your pet!

I'm actually in my last couple of years in high school. And I've lost faith in humanity many years ago and have dealt with most of the 'real world'.
I'm quite aware of the schoolwork now, it was just random that my teacher made us do something like that, since she's told us many times we wouldn't do an "interview" type of thing this school year.

Yikes, I had no idea o____o might want to be clearer next time given how you came across to me (native English speaker, so there's no language barrier) (see part that I quoted--I honestly still can't see how to get any of your post just now from what I quoted 0.o since you've also lost faith in humanity, I'm sure you can see why I had a strong enough reaction to your post to actually post something unrelated to answering the question...? 0.o)
Hope the assignment went well!

I thought I'd just pop in a try a few c:
@ L.V.L
1) So evidently if you don't have a seatbelt you'll go flying forwards due to the fact that you will still have the same forward acceleration the car did before it applied the brakes.
How they work is that by stretching slightly they reduce the amount force from the braking actually applied on your body. By stretching slightly the seatbelt allows the time taken for the person to decelerate to a stop to increase which means their acceleration becomes smaller. F = ma means that with a smaller acceleration the person will experience a smaller force on their body. At least that's how I came to understand seatbelts!
2) Weight is mass multipled by the gravitational field strength of the planet the mass is on. So on Earth your mass would be say 60kg but your weight would be 60 x 9.81 = 588.6 N.
Weight is measured in Newtons whereas mass is measured in kg.
Weight is a vector quantity as it's a force (so it has both magnitude and direction) whereas mass is a scalar quantity.
Weight is the measure of how strongly gravity is pulling it down whereas mass is the measure of how much matter there is in an object.
On different planets your weight would change but your mass would stay the same.
3) I was made to recite the laws for Physics so here goes haha
Number 1: An object will either remain at a standstill or continue moving at a constant velocity unless there is a resultant force acting on it. EX: Best examples are in space where there isn't air resistance, so say an astronaut pushes ones of their tools out into space, if it isn't touched again it will carry on travelling on forever till it experiences another push from an astronaut (a resultant force) or hits a planet.
Number 2: This one is the one I struggled a bit with when I was learning them but the best way to remember this one is just simply F = ma. It just means that the the force you exert on an object is directly proportional to the acceleration it will experience. EX: If you pushed a small toy car with a 100N force and a massive lorry with a 100N force the toy car would experience a much larger acceleration than the massive lorry (you can get this my rearranging the equation).
Number 3: Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Possibly my favourite one because it blew my mind when I first learnt it! EX: The Earth pulls you down using gravity but you are also pulling the Earth up ever so slightly to counteract that. But the Earth is so big and you're so tiny in comparison that the effect is basically negligable.
Hope this is alright ;v;
