Currently mine has been getting a new place because I’m so freaking close. This also comes with finally getting the tattoos I always wanted but I have to wait a tiny bit longer for that because money is a thing -_- I’ve been looking at tattoo ideas non stop and have been drawing/designing a few for placements and stuff.

"Hyperfixations" is an autistic/neurodiverse community word specifically. If you aren't neurodiverse and particularly autistic, then using (stealing) our language is harmful and damaging to our community and causes misinformation to spread, such as "everyone has hyperfixations". No, they do not. Everyone has interests. Everyone has passionate interests. But Everyone does NOT have hyperfixations and it's upsetting and insulting to see my communities language watered down like this.

Hyperfixations and passionate interests are different concepts entirely. Completely. And most people have no concept of that because it's a neurodiverse community term and it gets constantly misused. Like in this case. Please don't do this. The original post on this thread was VERY clear that this is an autistic community term and not to abuse your participation by derailing that.

Also , I’ve seen many uses of the word “obsessed” or “obsession” in this thread. If you want to talk about an obsession, it’s better to use the thread for that. It would be a shame to have a thread for neurodivergent individuals locked because it was being used in the same way as the “I’m currently obsessed with__” thread when it’s a completely different thing. Hyperfixations are not always a good thing and can be at times, very stressful. I’ve had hyperfixations that lasted a year or more, it’s not an obsession, I literally couldn’t stop thinking about it even if I tried to think of something else. It’s not a voluntary experience. You can choose to like something, you cannot choose to hyperfixate. It’s called “Hyper” for a reason and it is solely a nurodivergent experience.

I've really been hyperfixating lately on sonic the hedgehog lately!! I used to love watching the adventures of sonic the hedgehog series and also played the original games with my dad,, after the recent movie came out I've really been growing more interest into sonic again and even made a new hedgehog character! I'm super excited and I might post it later on my instagram :00

I get what you mean since I used to think similarly. I think the problem is that the word "hyperfixation" is used so often/carelessly on the internet that it has lost its meaning. Hyperfixations are different than your average interest. They're a lot more intense and can even be harmful because you can't stop thinking about them. For example, I am ND and I've had very strong hyperfixations, along with normal interests. There's a difference. My hyperfixations basically control my life because I think about them 24/7, I lose sleep over them, I stop hanging out with people, etc. My normal interests are a lot less invasive and don't affect my life as much.
I'm not trying to make things seem exclusive here. It is genuinely a completely different experience. So it's not correct to say that hyperfixations can be experienced by anyone when that's just not true.
I hope this made sense.

That's awesome, Sonic is a really great franchise! I used to play the original games too, they're super nostalgic for me. I haven't seen the newest movie yet but I've heard good things about it.

Where do i start... I have 2 major ones that i fluctuate between, which is highly annoying, but ever since i was 16 i have been totally obsessed with Final fantasy and Resident evil. Yet again i've replayed both of the games and fallen in love with them both even more (somehow). Just this morning, much to my boyfriends dismay, i ordered yet another ResE2 Leon figure which is a big ouch on my wallet but ill do anything for Leon tbf. This year i'm hopefully getting married to said boyfriend and we want to have a slightly final fantasy themed wedding since were both huge fans of it! My suit looks very similar to Reno's and my partner is going to wear one closer to Rude's. We are also gonna have themed decorations and I seriously cant wait! Having hyper fixations is hard but its good to be around people which also enjoy the same media and will listen to you go on about it ^^ !

i got formula one brain-rot specifically for sebastian vettel, daniel ricciardo and mick schumacher -w-

i was so sure that mick was gonna get his first points this weekend i was saying it to literally everybody but imola was such a bad luck charm for many drivers. he was so unlucky to get caught up in that daniel/carlos chaos, and alonso was equally as unlucky (as usual) to get hit by mick !!

i'm really glad seb got his first points of the season though, it seems to have put him in a much better mood. hopefully miami is much better for mick and he keeps up the pace he had in the sprint and qualifying from imola<3

people keep saying he doesn't even deserve to be in the sport after just four races this season and it's making me so mad, especially after everyone was so worried about him in that huge crash he had in jeddah. how the tables turn so quickly in the f1 community (like the people chewing up and spitting out lewis rn) is honestly really gross. they talk about the driver's like they're the dirt on their shoes sometimes, like it's not an incredibly physically and mentally demanding sport where people are constantly risking their lives for our entertainment.

the poor kid's rookie season didn't even count - he was stuck in a car that was literally the worst on the grid with a teammate who was completely incompetent. having kevin back is going to be so good for mick to be able to improve, as well as finally being able to drive a midfield car. his career in f3 and f2 shows clearly that he takes some time to get to grips with his car but once he does he's a very strong driver. of course his name helped him get where he is, no doubt, especially with him being on ferrari's junior program, but the fact he used his mother's maiden name for as long as he could shows he's aware of the pressure on his family name and he wants to race regardless of whether he's a schumacher or not. when he gets his first points (he definitely will this season! he keeps getting closer every race so far) i'm going to cry so bad

his little battle with seb was adorable, them waving at each other and the post race-interview where seb was telling him he could have gone for alonso too if he wanted, honestly they both melt my heart. their relationship is so sweet and wholesome. i love that seb has took mick under his wing just like michael did for him in his early career. so sweet to see it come full circle with michael's own son being loved by not just seb but pretty much the whole paddock<3

so excited for miami but having to wait for race weekends rn is so painful! i never know what to do with myself when there's breaks between races!

My most recent (and strongest) hyperfixation/special interest is coin collecting and numismatics (the study of currency, coins and paper money)! I've just started my coin collection, but I already have 21 America the Beautiful quarters and 13 state quarters! My favorite coins in my collection right now are my 1885 Morgan dollar coin and my 2022 Maya Angelou quarter! Tomorrow (if it's okay) I'll add pictures of my collection!

ME TOO after the release of the new movie i got really focused onto it again when i havent even seen the new movie..^_^ it was my first and longest special interest ever, roughly 10 yrs long maybe LOL... i remember my first sonic game was sonic heroes for our ps2 when i was like 4 er 5 it was so fun that game means so much to me i LOVE IT. i havent played it since our ps2 broke or got replaced with an xbox 360 back innn i want to say 2011ish. i have played every sonic game asides from the mobile ones that are no longer available an the ones that were only on wii! i didnt have a chance ta get them an it makes me real sad
once again i havent seen the new movie yet but it looks SO CUTESY. knuckles is my favorite so i really want to see it.

ive been fixated on es for like almost roughly a yr now again..! its my spin too and like theres no such thing as es enjoyers on here...so sad.. AN REALLY RHYTHM GAMES GENERALLY..^_^ i love love live all stars + project sekai + project diva mega mix i completed all songs + dlc songs are hard mode on there last year and it was SO CRAZY and so fun its like the one in game goal that ive had that ive actually pushed myself to do and actually successfully finish + ive bought all the available modules in game so now im workin on getting all the little accessories an whatevr. i want ta get project diva future tone SO BAD TOO... it looks like rhythm game heaven but i dont have a playstation and i havent had one in years it makes me so upset >_< I WANT IT SO BAD!!!! i see it has 220+ songs an i dont knwo if thats counting dlc but!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WANT IT....SO BAD....
