Do you have an aviation related job?: I do not, unfortunatley.
Why are you interested in aviation?: I just love planes! Though I suffer for extremely bad vertigo, I thoroughly enjoy flying and planes. It's really amazing how these hunks of metal can fly swiftly through the skies.
What is your favorite aircraft?: Oooh, tough one. I'd have to say, a WWII plane, the Tiger Moth.

Nickname (what would you like to be called?): Ehh... just call me Corsair.

Do you have an aviation related job?: No.

Why are you interested in aviation?: I am fascinated by aircraft. I think it is amazing how people can get such a large, heavy object (example, a Boeing 787) off the ground and into the air like there's nothing to it. I first flew on a plane in 2007, it was an Airbus A320, USA 3000. Ever since then, I've always wanted to fly and be in the air. Every time I hear an airplane or helicopter, no matter where I am, I will stop and watch it until it is gone. We have two air shows every year here, and I go to them when ever it's time. Just recently I became a member of the EAA Young Eagles.

What is your favorite aircraft?: My favorite aircraft is the Chance Vought F4U Corsair. Other favorites are the P-51 Mustang, F-22 Raptor, C130, Cessna 406, Cessna 150, Piper Cub, and Boeing 747.

Hey everyone!

I'm in Four Corners right now, near Orlando Florida. I'll be going to Fantasy of Flight this week - it's a private airplane collection, and they have daily aerial demonstrations. I'm excited!

Hey guys! :P Sorry I haven't been online -family stuffs. My dad sent me a picture of Bonanza he was working on for a neighboring hangar and I figured I'd share it. The only thing odd I think is that he wasn't in our hangar... O_o...

Le sigh. He doesn't get to work on old planes as often anymore... mostly privately owned planes and jets.

Sorry if I'm not posting often. I've got a few things going on in real life. I've also been having week-long migraines so bad that I cannot see. I hope everyone understands.

* * WIP * *

Hey everyone! I disappeared from CS for a while since life tends to get busy, but I am back with some new aviation (and space) adventures to share!

Wings of Freedom Tour - February 2014 - Page Field
During my interview for history fair in eight grade (my paper was about the Tuskegee Airmen), I got into a lengthy discussion about aviation and aircraft with my interviewer. He ended up telling me about a yearly event at Page Field where they have warplanes on display. This event is called the Wings of Freedom Tour. There were three WWII aircraft there - Nine O Nine the B-17 Flying Fortress, Witchcraft the B-24 Liberator, and Betty Jane the P-51 Mustang. I was able to get inside the bombers and very close to the Mustang. Was an amazing experience; got to see all three birds take to the sky, too. I also saw a handful of gorgeous business jets, including the Dassault Falcon 900! Looking forward to going again next year, and I promise myself that I will get to fly in that Mustang someday. <3

First Boeing 737 Flight - March 2014 - RSW to BWI
In March I had the honour of being able to attend a three day trip to Washington D.C. with fellow eight grade classmates. At 5:00 am I arrived at RSW (Southwest Florida International Airport), went through security, yada yada... and a while later I arrived at my gate! I would be flying out around 7 am aboard a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-700. This was my first time flying with Southwest Airlines and my first time onboard a Boeing 737, so I was psyched! I was not able to control my excitement on takeoff and ended up crying happy tears. The flight was great; moderate turbulence during the final approach and landing but I love turbulence, haha. I also saw snow for the first time while in flight. Two days later I was on board another 737-700 destined for home; this was a night flight and was the first time that I did not have the window seat (occupied myself by playing with model planes and reading Flying magazines instead of looking outside the whole time, haha). The plane was fifteen minutes late to arrive at BWI while waiting to go back home but I did not mind it. Overall a wonderful experience with Southwest Airlines and I would definitely fly with them again!

Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum - March 2014 - Washington D.C.
WOW was this place cool - everywhere you looked there were planes and rockets! The museum itself if huge. Walked around for a while after eating lunch at McDonald's and took photos of every airplane I saw, haha. There was a neat exhibit called How Things Fly that I spent some time in - was all about the dynamics of flight. There was a forward fuselage of a Boeing 747 that you could walk into and look into the cockpit. So many buttons and switches! Some of the aircraft and spacecraft that I recall viewing while there were the...
- Bell X-1 Glamorous Glennis
- X-15 (the first one ever built)
- Ryan NYP Spirit of St. Louis
- Amelia Earhart's Lockheed 5B Vega
- Piper J-2 Cub
- Douglas World Cruiser Chicago
- Bell XP-59A Airacomet
- Wright EX Vin Fiz
- SpaceShipOne
- Ford 5-AT Tri-Motor
- Lockheed Martin/Boeing RQ-3A DarkStar
- MQ-1L Predator A
- Pitcairn PA-5 Mailwing
- Boeing 247-D
- Douglas DC-3
- Curtiss R3C-2 Racer
- Fokker T-2
- Lockheed 8 Sirius Tingmissartoq
I sadly did not get to view the WWII and sea-air operations aircraft, which were the exhibits I wanted to go into. Perhaps someday I will go back, and I would love to visit the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, which is an extention of the museum.

Hey everyone!

Southwest Airlines, Frontier Airlines, and Spirit Airlines all announced that they are switching the liveries of their fleets. I am posting links so you can view the new liveries and compare them with the current liveries. What do you guys think of the changes? Yay or nay?

Southwest Airlines
New Livery vs. Current Livery

Frontier Airlines
New Livery vs. Current Livery*

Spirit Airlines
New Livery vs. Current Livery

Here are my opinions -

Southwest Airlines - 10/10
SWA's current livery is one of my top three favorite airline liveries. When I heard they were changing it and saw the new livery, I was very saddened. Now that some time has passed, I have switched from hating to loving the new livery! It is simple and I love the colors.

Frontier Airlines - 5/10
I love the large silver lettering on the sides of FA's fleet. The tails and engines do not seem to match, however. The new livery looks slightly better with the matching green lettering and engines.

Spirit Airlines - 0/10
Honestly, what were they thinking?! SA's currently livery is beautiful. The bright yellow is quite obnoxious and will make the airplanes stick out like sore thumbs when they're parked at the gate next to other airlines. They at least could have made the underbelly, engines, and maybe tail yellow and keep the rest white... I think that would look much better.

All images belong to their rightful owners.

* - Note that the images on the tails vary from airplane to airplane.
