I tried to do as he said, but my muscles were coiled and tense for a reason I could not comprehend. I started to move upright, but Jared stopped me. “Just take it easy, you need the rest. What you did wasn’t at your ability level as of yet.” My mind swam. What did I do?
Finally the world stopped spinning around me, and Jared helped me to a sitting position after I had fallen onto him. “Can you sit by your own?” He asked, his tone quiet and caressing. I nodded a reply, still too stunned to speak. The werewolf moved away from me, going back to his position in front of me.
Finally, the words and their meanings came back to me as I recollected my thoughts. The edges of my mind were frayed in doing what I did previously. I opened my mouth to speak and my voice came out hoarse, like I hadn’t spoken in days. “You said that what I did I shouldn’t be capable of.” I stated it simply, remembering what he had said only a few moments ago. “But, what did I actually do?”
Jared sighed, running a hand through his hair. The chocolate brown locks fell back into their tousled state a few moments after. “You performed a half-shift. Most of the Pack’s strongest have trouble doing it. You shifted into a half wolf, half woman. Your senses increased, including sight, causing you to feel as though the world was spinning. I should have known better. I’m sorry.”
I stared at him, shocked at this turn of events. “You mean ...?” I left the rest of my sentence hanging in the air. Most of the times I’d tried this I could barely have shifted my hand into a paw and now he was telling me that I had just performed one of the most difficult shifts for a werewolf?
“You’re crazy!” I said to him, my eyes wide. “I can barely change my arm, how could I shift my whole body into an semi-wolf?”

“OLIVER!”
“I was joking!” Oliver protested, shaking his head and scampering away when Scarlet let out an enraged scream and attacked him again. “Guys, a little help here?” He pleaded, throwing puppy dog eyes at his friends.
They cast him sarcastic looks back, staring at him as though to say, ‘really?’ and indicating the thick, beefy arms of the Samurai holding them.
Oliver shrugged noncommittally in response, “Hey, I might as well ask.”
“It was a stupid question!” Lucy heaved with a light cough at the strain on her stomach muscles, “Don’t ask stupid questions!”
“Is this a stupid question?” Oliver asked, cocking his head to the side.
“Yes!” Abigail and Lucy said at the same time, nodding in aggravation.
“Wait,” Oliver protested, ducking under Scarlet again and darting towards the other end of the hall with a light puff. “I wasn’t done yet! Why isn’t Lucy hot?”
Kyle’s mouth dropped open in shock, and
