I don't have any problems with the material of my homework; in fact, it's pretty easy for me. But I have trouble concentrating and usually end up working for only five or ten minutes at a time before getting up to pace for a long time, and I have a lot of trouble making myself go back once I'm in that loop.

Any tips for helping myself stay on task for longer?

What I would sometimes do to help me focus better was to put on some music or even play a movie (something I'd already seen, of course, so I would be fine half-watching it) while I was working. That probably sounds like it would distract me even more, but surprisingly, I found that it usually did help me concentrate more on my homework and get it done faster. I think maybe that was because by dividing my attention between homework and something fun, I could get work done but not force myself to sit for hours thinking about nothing but word problems and equations and whatnot, which would usually make me really bored really fast.

If that doesn't help you, then what I might recommend is to simply try something new. Switch up your schedule, look for a study partner or group and see if you work better when you're with someone else than when you're alone, maybe get yourself a timer and set a goal you think you can stick to (ex. "I'm going to work on this assignment for 15 minutes, then go to a different subject / take a 15-minute break"), ask your teachers or classmates if they have any tips, and just experiment a bit until you find a system that works for you. :)

1. Rid your workspace of any and all distractions. Anything like mobile devices, toys, games, etc. should be cleared. If there's a TV running somewhere, see if you can turn it off or retreat to a quieter place. I understand that some things, like computers, are occasionally needed during homework, and in that case, try to avoid browsing social media, CS, or any other websites unnecessary to your work.

2. Depending on what kind of a learner you are, listening to music with headphones might help you with blocking out any background noise that could be distracting you. Always choose instrumental music over lyrical/vocal music. I've read somewhere that listening to music you haven't heard before could help you boost creativity and motivation, so maybe go on YouTube and search 'instrumental study music' or something and listen to that; that's what I usually do when I need to get some writing done. Personally, I've found that once I have headphones on and am listening to music, I get reluctant to leave my workspace, so that could possibly help you stay where you are and focus on your work. However, if you suspect that YT could end up being a distraction to you, as I've said in the tip above, use your own judgement on whether or not you really need that music.

3. Keep a bottle of water handy nearby. It hydrates you, improving your memory and brainwork, and could also quash any feelings of mild hunger/food cravings that could distract you. However, don't forget to eat dinner!

4. If you really feel like you can't focus on your work, try setting a short time period for yourself, like "work for ten/fifteen minutes, and then you can take a break". Then work nonstop during that time period. At the end of the time period, you may find that you're unwilling to leave because you're already in the 'groove' of your work. If not, then permit yourself a five minute break in which you can do whatever you want, and then get back to your work. Try to take only one of these breaks an hour, though, and avoid extending them. The average human mind can only focus on a task for forty-five minutes to an hour at a time, so taking a break could help your mind refresh yourself, so to speak, and be more susceptible to studying/doing work.

Hope these helped!

YOUR QUESTION:I have a definite integral of 2 pi x sec(x)tan(x) from 0 to pi/4

Quick clarification question - is this 2pi * x * sec(x)tan(x) or is it 2pi * sec(x)tan(x)? (where * = times/multiplication) Just wanna make sure.

it is 2pi*x*sec(x)tan(x), and I THINK I actually got it. My boyfriend (who oddly enough is not taking a calc class) pointed out that I was inserting the parameters wrong I had it as (pluging in 0 and pi/4 for X) (pi/4-0)(sec(pi/4)-sec(0)) when the correct setup is (pi/4*Sec(pi/4))-(0*Sec(0))

Now I just have to figure out why the heck he's better at my homework than I am TwT

Glad you figured it out! I have made pretty similar mistakes many a time. They'll getchya every time. >_> It's the silliest mistakes like that which are the hardest to catch!

I personally would show the evolution through through music. Man invents instrument/music, brings community through collaboration, the language of music/rhythm/song. Music would be your art.

Or maybe I misunderstood your project. Do you just have to connect one aspect of evolution to one of those?

If so there are many possibilities. These are just a few ideas for the individual topics: Art-cave paintings. Community-any 1st civilization. Language- 1st written language (or cave paintings again).

D. y+13

The answer: B. y+11

Following the steps of PEMDAS you would tackle the division in the problem first. So 3/3=1. Now your problem looks like this: y-1+12

Now that you are just down to addition and subtraction, there is no particular order you have to do the operations in. Because you can't add a variable at the moment though, add the real numbers instead. The subtraction sign sticks to the 1, turning it into -1. -1+12=11. (Can also be seen as 12-1=11 if you aren't comfortable with negatives).

Since that is a positive 11, put and addition sign between it and the y.

y+11 is as simplified as you can go. Therefore it is your answer. c:

Question 1: What do you think about the homeless problem?
I think it is a horrible thing. I find it really sad to see so many people living on the streets because they are homeless. It is joust rude, I think that people should be more generous and give them a place to sleep and food.
Question 2: Are You compassionate or Pragmatic?
I am both, I am concern for people and that they get a healthy life, but I always deal with a problem sensibly.
Question 3: Should we or the Government help the homeless?
Yes! We all should help the homeless. We should donate Money to help them the government could always lend them some dollars to help them get them some food and a place to sleep.
Question 4: How should we help the homeless?
By giving them food and a place to sleep. By helping them to live a life.
