I have a memory of one of the Marc Jacobs Daisy scents from my childhood, back when they would put those perfume sample tear-outs in magazines (anyone else old enough to remember those?). I recall there being two of the other Daisy-related scents on the same ad page, I wanna say they were Daisy Dream (2014 edition - I distinctly remember the blue bottle) and Daisy Eau So Fresh (2011 edition - didn't have the hot pink flowers on the bottle design yet).
Given the release years of the other two scents, I wanna say I'm thinking of the original Daisy from 2007, since the 10th anniversary edition was released in 2017 and I know for a fact it was a yellow bottle shown in the ad and not any of the funky colored ones that had come out in the years between.
Wish I could find a bottle of that original 2007 scent for sale somewhere, as I recall loving how it smelled, even back then. Very light and floral with a hint of fruity-citrus. Almost like springtime in a bottle. (Top notes: violet leaf, blood grapefruit, strawberry / mid notes: violet, gardenia, jasmine / base notes: musk, white wood, vanilla)
Currently I own only one perfume, Coffee Cloud by Good Chemistry (2023 - notes of cedarwood, coffee, and bergamot). I don't use it a ton, as it's very one-note and only lasts about 5 minutes, but it's a nice little pick-me-up scent if you like the smell of coffee. I've got it in the travel size, and likely won't get it again.
I've loved a lot of the fruity Bath & Body Works scents that have come out over the years. Shame that all of their body mists start to smell kinda chemically and metallic after a while, otherwise I'd be wearing those as perfume. Some of my favorites in recent years have been:
- Ghoul Friend, Halloween 2021 (notes of strawberry, peony, and citrus) - Had this one in the room spray; smelled great for the first 10 or so minutes before it got that chemical-metallic tinge to it. Artificial strawberry, but in a good way.
- Beautiful Day, 2013 (top notes: apple, pear, blackcurrant / mid notes: peony, chamomile, lily-of-the-valley / base notes: peach, white wood) - Had this one in the body wash all the way until it got discontinued. Miss it a lot, the apple-pear top notes were really bright and refreshing.
- A Thousand Wishes, 2020 (notes of peony, prosecco, amber, quince, and amaretto) - I liked the original 2014 version of this one too; the new formulation is a bit more... mature-smelling, if that makes sense? Old one was a lot fruitier, the new one has some darker notes. Still use this in the body wash.
- Iced Raspberry Bellini, 2021 (notes of raspberry, prosecco, and citrus) - I actually have this scent in the body lotion, shame it was discontinued because it smells HEAVENLY.
- Winter Candy Apple, Christmas 2014 (top notes: candy apple, orange / mid notes: maple, cinnamon, rose, neroli / base notes: musk, moss, orris root) - One of my favorite holiday scents. Smells exactly like sticking your nose in an apple-cinnamon candle; exactly the right amount of artificial. Had this in the body wash.
If anyone knows of any perfumes with similar notes to any of these B&BW scents, please let me know - I'd love to find something in that wheelhouse that doesn't smell like chemicals after 10 minutes!
