Surprisingly, considering how much of a shutterbug I am, this is the only actual mushroom that shows up when I search for 'em in my photos, and I have zero idea what it even is (or even where I took the pic!). Kinda pretty, though.

If i knew if it had gills or pores, i might be able to make a guess. it is a very pretty mushroom in it's prime though<3
here are a few tiny fungi finds from the fall when I was gathering firewood. haven't had many photos to share because I live in an area where it's cold half the year
all images below are OC
[no ID] isn't is absolutely beautiful though?!

[no ID] tiny white cups!!!

[no ID] little green/yellow cups. <3 love seeing the tiny stuff so much! fills me with joy that I am able to spot it and get all right pics of it. wish I had a camera so I could get

hey all! this is kind of random, but I am trying to grow... birds nest fungi in a plant pot. lol. its late fall and frost has hit all ready, so mushrooms are pretty sparse here right now. i got super bored, my boyfriend has this mulch bed outside his house totally infested with BNF. like, it took over the mulch bed. i would say 75% of the mulch bed is covered in it so far and it seemed to happen so fast over the summer. before doing any research (not that it mattered anyway because theres no info on "cultivating" BNF), I stuffed the substrate it was growing off of (the mulch of course) and stuffed it in a little nursery pot. BNF doesn't really rely on trees to reproduce (decaying wood or woody debris, most commonly mulch, sometimes plant matter). I also picked some of the BNF out of the mulch and picked out the spore sacks with a mulch stick to help maybe grow more in the pot? I thought I would give it a shot, not much else to do this time of year. mushrooms dont come out because it's mostly cold, can't see them anyway because the leaf litter is in the way, bone hunting is off the list too honestly because the leaf litter is in the way... lets make birds nest fungi planter by the fire today! i've seen people grab amanita eggs/young amanitas and throw them in a pot of soil as a desk ornament that lasts only a week but fun anyway!

if I see anything, I don't know If i really expect anything at all, but if I do see any growth or new growth, I might try to help the nests sporulate manually with a mulch stick again, or pouring water on top of the mulch and see if the water carries any of the spore sacks out of the nests.
I tried a different method in a bigger pot and gave it to my mother tonight. I will post an update on both if they end up working!

thank you much!! personally, i've never eaten mushrooms myself. the mushrooms i like, arent edible lol. I just enjoy looking at mushrooms and finding all sorts of them in different sizes, colors, and shapes. it's also really cool to learn about them. : ) ever since i became obsessed with wild mushrooms, my moms always got a pack of store bought ones in the fridge to eat lol. my hobby must make her hungry for mushrooms!!

The first time I posted here I said that as far as mushrooms go, I've really only seen false parasols lately. Today, I finally found something else! It had rained a couple of nights ago with an occasional light sprinkle since then, we've had cool temperatures, and a couple of these appeared on a neighbor's front lawn. Second picture was a fail gill close-up because the camera auto-focused on the tree in the background :P

[OC]
A redditor thinks it's Amanita sect. Vaginatae. Whatever it is, it's pretty.
