confused and infuriated that people have been lieing about "hate speech is not free speech" and some making it look like "hate speech laws exist". perhaps they get confused with just private owned social networking rules of being nice.
this whole debacle with what some will affectionately call smirkgate is what brings it up.
i watched the one 2 hour long video. people still say the boys had no right to taunt the "5 black men" with "school spirit jeers". sure. perhaps they could of been bigger person and did nothing. but when the demographic of people who tell everyone with tear filled eyes not to use the word lame(because it's mean to people who can't walk good), or they want an offensive shirt pulled, or someone writes vile slurs on buildings. as well as people in the group bad words were used in stand behind and support the "5 black men giving sermons" it makes one want to give up on people. they will say things are hatespeech. a few say "oh yeah they were bad too...but, the way the boys treated them was abhorrent". it makes it like the bad guys insane rambings are somewhat true.
and now i am told. that hate speech is free speech. that those "5 black men" have every right to say what they did. and yet I feel any other time, even with a rude joke, people freak out.
boy smirks at native american elder who got in his face bad. telling natives god took their land for idol worship is free speech.
