However, I think most of the people who do it are young kids who will learn a little better later on. The signatures make the owners seem more like "look at me" instead of "I love you", as I think most of christians are supposed to want to display.

Here, let me dig up this old PM I sent To The End as a response:

Hello! :3 I saw your question on there, and I'm going to try to answer it, if that's all right. (I'm a Christian, by the way.)

First of all, I'll answer the broad question of "Why do Christians feel the need to 'shove their religion down our throats'?" The reason Christians seem preachy a lot of the time (and I can see how that could get annoying, but let me finish here) is the nature of the religion itself: God specifically tells Christians in the Bible to spread the word of God and to try to convert others, because according to the religion those who do not accept God's gift of eternal life will not get into heaven. I know it seems snotty and condemning when Christians are constantly talking about how their religion is the only true one, but it's only because they want to convert as many people as possible so that they can ensure that others will get into heaven as well, even if they're going about it the wrong way (i.e., putting those messages in their signatures). A better way would be to display the virtues and lifestyle that Christianity promotes, but some people just don't get that.
Again, I know that it's annoying, but... Just try to understand... xD

If you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer them!

But if it is annoying and people don't like it then it isn't doing its job and christians should try to find a different way to go about converting others.
There are ways to convey your religion to others and even encourage them towards it without being obnoxious and annoying and actually turning people away from it. xD

Exactly my point. xD I don't believe that having those things in your signature is at all a good idea... I used to have one, but I realized how immature they made people seem and put a stamp of my favorite Christian band in there instead (*cough cough* TENTH AVENUE NORTH *cough).

Yeah but if God 'Loves' Us then just because we beileve in something different doesn't it mean that he wouldn't turn us away if we were at the gates of heaven because we beileved in something different?

That's exactly what an atheist is, actually. :3 Atheists aren't 'anti-god', they just don't believe any of them exist. Some might be more against religion than others, but it's generally the religion they dislike, not the gods themselves (since to an atheist they don't exist). You might be thinking of anti-theism, which is being actively against gods or a god - some atheists fit this definition, but so do some theists who hate a particular god or gods. Non-theism means pretty much the same thing as atheism; it's generally used as an alternate term for it. You can split hairs about the nature of theism though - some consider non-theism to be the absence of belief in a personal god while still allowing for the deistic view, while atheism is one tick over on the scale from 'there is no personal god' to 'there are no gods, whether personal or deistic'. So a non-theist and an atheist would probably both believe there is no Abrahamic god, but the non-theist might believe there is a more loosely defined divinity, like a universal spirit, a spirit of place, a cosmic connectiveness, divinities that are involved with natural rhythms/events rather than an individual person, etc. All atheists are non-theists, but not all non-theists are strictly atheistic. :3

Anyway, that's way longer than I intended it to be, so... welcome! ^^
