hello !! I don't post here often, but I was wondering if anyone had any tips for halloween fursuiting? both regarding staying safe and with outing yourself as a furry to everyone.

my mom knows that I have a fursuit partial and that it cost a lot, but as far as I'm aware, she doesn't know it's called a fursuit or that I'm a furry. she's seem it a number of times and has even commented "wow, that character mask is very well-made". she supports the idea of me wearing my fursuit on halloween and she has agreed to be there with me to keep an eye on me, but it will be my first time being in suit for an extended period of time so I'm nervous. I'm also extremely agoraphobic, so I will probably (inevitably) have a panic attack and might even end up sick from anxiety. I certainly don't want to, though.

my dad has no idea that I have this fursuit...nor do any of my neighbors or extended family. by wearing this costume, I am inevitably showing everyone in my life that I am a furry. my mom plans on posting photos of my brother and I's costumes online. I know my neighborhood talks since I've heard rumors about other families before, and my dad's family is extremely conservative which is scary.

has anyone experienced family, family friends, friends, or neighbors cutting ties after you came out as a furry? if so, how did you deal with it? I don't want my family ostracized just because people think I fit into negative furry stereotypes or that I'm weird for it, but, at the same time, I'm sick of hiding it. I want people to know so I can get rad photos of my suit and be active on social media again. plus it makes me happy, which is something rare to find when you never go outside aha

You may have gone trick-or-treating already, and if so, I hope you had fun! I know I did! I wore my suit too! If not, don't worry! It'll be just fine! Also, I doubt anyone would cut ties with you! My family was very skeptical at first, but became super supportive soon after! We got your back!

It's the first suit I've ever made and I'm so proud of it! I'll be going to MFF in December and will have a partial done by then! I'm super hyped!

I made a set of canine/monster feet/ears with teal fur, gold claws and green minky pawpad kinda hoping to wear it for Halloween but I didn’t get the chance to! So I’m toying around the idea of selling them if anyone was interested/ needed a set similar! I’ll upload pics when I get the chance if there is interest even in just seeing them. I’ll probably be putting them up on dealersden with a matching character.

I made them with my fully plush pattern so they have big puffy green toe beans, and only polyfil filled. Indoor slipper feet. I finally perfected my pattern with no foam or hard insides at all so thy was pretty exciting. I won’t be sharing it, but I can give pointers through pm for anyone who wants to make a set of slipper feet that look like they have foam but don’t. I finally got them to look like defined feetpaws with just material and polyfil. All that’s left to do it find a nice way to make sandals for outdoor use.

They’re just plushy gold fabric claws, but I’d definitely be down to do some kind of deal. I’ll be getting back into resin casting claws in the next few months, I’d like to have the diversity of choices again.
