It takes a lot of imagination to be a good photographer. You need less imagination to be a painter because you can invent things. But in photography everything is so ordinary; it takes a lot of looking before you learn to see the extraordinary.
-David Bailey

I have often thought that if photography were difficult in the true sense of the term -- meaning that the creation of a simple photograph would entail as much time and effort as the production of a good watercolor or etching -- there would be a vast improvement in total output. The sheer ease with which we can produce a superficial image often leads to creative disaster.

In the end we are all just chalk lines on the concrete.
Draw only to be washed away.
But in the time that I'm given,
I am who I am.

"Everyone has to live with an idiot once in a while. Life is just your journey to get rid of them."
My best friend said this yesterday in Language Arts because my other friend was being stupid. I love my friends.

Theoden wrote:Where now are the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing?
Where is the helm and the hauberk, and the bright hair flowing?
Where is the harp on the harpstring, and the red fire glowing?
Where is the spring and the harvest and the tall corn growing?
They have passed like rain on the mountain, like a wind in the meadow;
The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow.
Who shall gather the smoke of the deadwood burning,
Or behold the flowing years from the Sea returning?

"Sarcasm is just another service we offer"

It's a sticker on one of my teachers desks, and I thoroughly enjoy it, especially with her sense of humor. xD

Enjoy life; there's plenty of time to be dead.

Hard work never hurt, but why take a chance?

The world is going to hell, and I'm drivin' the bus.

People say you can't live without love...
...but I think oxygen is more important.

Out of my mind, back in five minutes.

Always give 100% at work:
12% Monday,
23% Tuesday,
40% Wednesday,
20% Thursday,
5% Friday.

Remember, when someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles to frown, but it takes only four muscles to slap them.

“Benedicto: May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. May your rivers flow without end, meandering through pastoral valleys tinkling with bells, past temples and castles and poets towers into a dark primeval forest where tigers belch and monkeys howl, through miasmal and mysterious swamps and down into a desert of red rock, blue mesas, domes and pinnacles and grottos of endless stone, and down again into a deep vast ancient unknown chasm where bars of sunlight blaze on profiled cliffs, where deer walk across the white sand beaches, where storms come and go as lightning clangs upon the high crags, where something strange and more beautiful and more full of wonder than your deepest dreams waits for you -- beyond that next turning of the canyon walls.”

“Men come and go, cities rise and fall, whole civilizations appear and disappear-the earth remains, slightly modified. The earth remains, and the heartbreaking beauty where there are no hearts to break....I sometimes choose to think, no doubt perversely, that man is a dream, thought an illusion, and only rock is real. Rock and sun.”

“Water, water, water....There is no shortage of water in the desert but exactly the right amount, a perfect ratio of water to rock, water to sand, ensuring that wide free open, generous spacing among plants and animals, homes and towns and cities, which makes the arid West so different from any other part of the nation. There is no lack of water here unless you try to establish a city where no city should be.”

“Where is the heart of the desert? …. I am convinced now that the desert has no heart, that it presents a riddle which has no answer, and that the riddle itself is an illusion created by some limitation or exaggeration of the displaced human consciousness,”

“Lavender clouds sail like a fleet of ships across the pale green dawn; each cloud, planed flat on the wind, has a base of fiery gold,”

Some my favourite quotes by Edward Abbey; there are too many to post them all..

I'll post again sometime with some excellent ones from Aldo Leopold.
Probably quitting. Will be giving some pets away when I have the time...

I know that if I have heaven
There is nothing to desire.
Rain and river, a world of wonder
May be paradise to me.

"This is madness."
"This is politics."

"We must fight to run away."

"The Code is the law."

"You're in my way, boy."

"There's not been a King since the first Court, and that's not likely to change."
"Not likely."
"Why not?"
"See, the Pirate King is elected by popular vote-"
"And each pirate only ever votes for hisself."
"I call for a vote!"

"What? You've seen it all, done it all. You survived. That's the trick, innit, to survive?
"It's not just about living forever, Jackie. The trick is living with yourself forever."
"How's Mum?.... She looks great."
