I'm sorry that people where very rude to you in fursuit! I reccomend finding someone to be a handler for you, and if you did have one, tell them what happened and how to be a better care taker! I hope the kids didnt ruin your amazing suit, and dont be afraid to take off your suit if the harassment is really bad!
Best of luck!
Also, Violets situation has reminded me about something, if allowed, I can suit in public places such as a parade! Has anyone else suited someplace with a bunch, and I mean A BUNCH of people? (Such as the renaissance, towns, halloween) Is there any guidelines to interacting with the public?
(I'm sorry if my grammar or spelling is off, English isnt my main language! ;w;)
I haven’t done anything huge, but a friend and I (maplemanokit on CS) were in a local parade last summer. Their mom or friends mom was apart of organising it or something (sorry I don’t have a ton of details. I was just invited) so we went with a group of like 6-8.
I’d say just figure out who’s organising the event and contact them asking. Since I went with a group, there were adults with water and we had a car people could ride around in because it was around 80-90 degrees Fahrenheit! I’d say go with a group who knows what they’re doing, and contact the people in charge of the event (or find info online about joining and then shoot an email or phone call about fursuits specifically)
Sorry about how unspecific this was but I feel like those two points from the last section ^ will really help!
Edit: please just make sure you mention specifically fursuits/costumes or “my friends and I like to show off the animal costumes we made or bought can we do __________.”
The one thing I hate about suiting is people who just show up to random events, uninvited. I know this is less specifically about parades, but it bothers me when I see videos of suiters going around crashing weddings or private events and the people around them just look ticccccccked. I’d love to discuss this some more if others are open to posting/pming.
