I'm a Nurse's Aide, looking into becoming an Registered Nurse. (My math skills are awful and am working on those math skills to get them up to par) I also happen to be able to operate/read an EKG and draw blood (I was planning on being a Phlebotomist but keep the skil in my back pocket as a bonus now).
Also anyone else ever become another's nightmare? I did. My dad had major surgery and the nurses were transferring him from a gurney to a bed in his hospital room. I got up in that unholy mess and said "Drop the board. I've got this side. You two get the bed sheet on that side and we're going on 3."

hi everyone! I posted a bit saying that I was aspiring to be a medical laboratory scientist, and I wanted to say that I'm one step closer to achieving my dreams. I'm currently in a training program! it has been really cool to lurk and see other MLS/medical technologists talk about their experiences on here and I can't wait to add my experiences into the mix too <3

I just love kids and helping them! I just finished my L&D clinical and I found birth amazing and beautiful. I dream of being a mom one day and working with moms and babies and families is rewarding to me!

I work in the lab, but that's exactly how I felt when I was doing some training in a department during first shift. "Why are people everywhere? Where do I have to go to have alone time during break??"
I ended up in the bottom of a stair well that went out to the loading docks. XD It was the singular place I could find where people didn't go.

My first vet job was overnight ER assistant. There were two modes: Dead silent and so busy I wanted to cry. Switching to normal daytime GP was wild. Also was a stark reminder that oh yeah. I'm an insomniac.

I work for my state's health department, but my section is actually a forensics. I'm a toxicologist (I've done clinical tox too) so we do drug and alcohol testing. There's a lot of tox testing that is all clinical though too, I was a supervisor at a 2-man lab inside a doctor's office for a bit and his specialty was pain management so we did a ton of drug of abuse and prescription monitoring testing.
Any of the other lab/MLS folks, tox is always an option outside of the traditional hospital lab if you're interested.
