I do agree that the concept of forcing cows to eat something they aren't meant to eat (meat) is disgusting, but I also don't believe stuff without proof. And no, linking me to various websites isn't proof. The internet isn't reliable and goodness knows how much of this could just be some of that far-fetched nonsense PETA tries to feed people. So unless I were to go to the farms and see it with my own eyes to be true, I will continue to eat my burgers without a second thought. C:
Don't believe everything you read on the internet. That's all I really have to say.

Ohhh I see, so now I am lying, huh? Look up 'Mad Cow Disease; THAT is all I have to say. OH and I saw it on an EDUCATIONAL MOVIE. I am not demented, I am 17, I think I know by now that not everything in the Web is true.

I'm pretty sure I didn't say you're lying or that you are demented. It's called a debate thread for a reason. Please don't overreact to everything, and please try to be somewhat open-minded about other peoples' opinions. I'll believe what I want to believe and you can go on believing what you want to. You expressed your opinion, and other people and I replied with ours. That's how it works.

If we can't have a friendly discussion here I'll go ahead and have it locked, no problem.

I am just saying I didn't get it off the Web. And everyone knows not everything you read online is true, so that is why you make me sound stupid, when I know that! Just saying. I also have a really bad temper, debates probably do NOT help me o.o

I am not against PEOPLE eating meat, I mean, HULLO, only like 20% of Americans are vegitarians. I am, except I am a very picky vegitarian, because I eat poultry, but people are natural omnivores. In fact, I really don't understand how vegitarians are very healthy. I know there is more than one way to protein, but meat is a main source of it. Way off topic therre o.o

If you eat meat, then you are not a vegetarian. This would be semi-vegetarianism or pollotarianism.

Good gosh what are you THINKING?!

There's several cannibalistic tribes around even today. Just because you consider it wrong, doesn't mean others have your same views.

Do you? Its called an opinion. I have them, you have them, we express them. Freedom. Of. Speech.

Doesn't mean you should be yelling "What are you thinking?" I had a coworker that was vegetarian. Whenever we brought a burger or something in for lunch, we got endlessly harassed for it. "What are you thinking?! That's SO GROSS!" for the whole hour...

That's not freedom of speech, it's bullying people into thinking your way. What makes this situation any different?

A better way to word your post would have been "I don't understand what they are thinking" or "I think it's gross." rather than pushing your opinions on others.

What??? When in the world did I say you weren't allowed to post an opinion??? When did I say you were off topic??? I was merely correcting a fact.

You didn't even make the post I quoted.

@All;; I do not want anyone to get angry, or think I am blaming anyone but myself, but could we change the subject? I get very angry at people then I am like "Crap that person hardly knows me and I just screamed at them!" Sorry to anyone that got angry with me. ;-;

@Crowy;; That was to me. :3

Did you know they cut the beaks and claws off of chickens so they can't walk and get fat?
Well they do.

Did you know that they push around a cow with a tractor, poking it, until it falls down and can't get up and just let it die there to slaughter it?
Well they do.

Did you know that they feed cows dead cows and chickens dead chickens?
Well they do and they call it cheap feed.

Did you know that chickens and turkeys never see the sun once they reach the dome house thing?
Well they don't.

Did you know that they cut the pigs tails off because when they are in tight houses, they bite eachothers tails?
Well they do.

I got all day! :P

Oh yes, and buy local meat. Depending on where you live.

I was talking about this to my mom yesterday and she was disgusted.

I am not just disgusted with what they do to our food, like feed the animals steriods and make them cannibals, but more of how they treat them.

I actually knew most of that, except for the bit about cheap feed. (The bit about the cow makes me think you've watched something like 'Food INC') But to be specific, I think most of that falls under the catagory of "animal treatment" not "food processing". Food processing is what you do to the animal after it's dead.

What bugs me a lot, though, is egg cartons. Ever seen the ones with the free-range labels? And the organic ones, and the cage free and the "happy, healthy chickens"? Those are usually all lies.
I am an ancient relic from a forgotten time.

When will you rise?

Um... I don't think you find feces in your burger meat. Well actually, that's not 100% true. Due to the food processing, many times cow feces gets mixed in with the meat. I personally would rather find hair than poop.
