Just a warning for now, that post was very unnessecary.

Wow, take it easy. We are just starting out, and if you have not noticed things are going very fast right now becasue most people want to make themselves known.

TigressMin wrote:Such a wonderful new thread.I actually wanted to start a discussion, and I'm not quite certain if its on topic enough, but I'll give it a go. If it counts as spam, I will more then happy to delete ^-^

I am currently involved in a anthro design trade on FA, and wondering how people actually feel about this. To explain the process for those who have never done one, you each give the other an idea, whether colors, species or a general direction. Then you both draw a character under those guidelines and trade the characters to one another. Thoughts and opinions? Anyone who has done this?

I'm honestly having alot of fun with the ideas the other person has given me, but I've gone brain dead now on what I want from them in return XD Its really frustrating.

Also, I would love to share some of my art:
Image
He is a Big Horn Sheep, and an apprentice to another character that I am still having a bit of problems with. Would love comments and critique especially since this is one of my first hooved anthros.

I have not done a design trade myself, but I have been commisioned for one and I can say that it sounds like an awesome concept! Designing characters is great, especially if you just have the outline and stuffs~ I say go for it! :3

He's really cute, I love how happy he is <3 As for critique it seems like he is missing his lower torso and hips, other tha that I think it looks great for a first 'hoofer'.

Note to everyone: The bookmark botton exists, please don't just post here to get the thread in 'my posts', it's spam.

*pops in* Oh hello *sniffs thread* ahhh fresh thread! I love the new thread Bongo!

Anyways i haven't been here in while, bu the new thread is finally here! Oh and im working on anthros, although right now i can only do anthros without hair, and with animal legs, but ive gone a little farther to try human legs on anthros and hair (considering Inu has hair and human legs, well yeah, it would be good for me to learn since i love to draw her so much >.<) Luckily my friend gave me a "how to draw anime" book, it teaches you male and female humans and even some animals! (but im already good with animals) so i tried it out and my anthro came out, well, not bad, but not good either. The hardest part for me is the body >.< mostly the legs and arms. but at least im improving! and i think this has helped me a bit with drawing with a mouse!

Image
this is a anthro (obviously lol) but i drew it with a mouse

and this is a ref i made for inu (which has a new design by the way) that has terrible anotomy (note this was before i got the book) i will be showing some updated versions of my anthros later, right now i must take my leave so soon, but i was nice seeing you guys again! happy early christmas!

Yay, new thread~ <3 BONBON YOU'RE GONNA BE GREAT AT THIS, JUST FANTASTIC, I HAVE HIGH EXPECTATIONS, VERY HIGH EXPECTATIONS, YOU ARE GOING TO CURE ALL KNOWN AND UNKNOWN DISEASES, I AM SURE OF IT! No pressure. C:

Aha, and now to attempt to comment on as many people as possible.

Pan- That picture is so cutee! I love the face markings :3 And you can never have too much fluff C:

Gemini- Awwh, he is just lovely c: And I really like the name he already has, so no suggestions here~

Jasper- FFF I wanna hug you. Or hug that picture. omnomnom

Tigress- I've never done a design trade, but it sounds like a very fun and interesting thing to do :3 And your sheepie is gorgeous, he looks so floofy <3

Koowie- I'm not sure, since a fursona can kinda mean different things to people it's hard to say what to do with it. If you like your fursona to be some superaccurate representation of yourself/your personality, go with an animal that matches you, not necessarily one you like a lot. If you want one that looks pretty, go for what.. looks pretty. /shot OR a mixture of the two? 8D; (woo, useless advice C: )

Inu- Very nice pictures c: I love the legs and feet on the first one, and her design is very pretty <3

Hurr, so I don't really have anything to share with you guys, sooo I'm gonna write some boring words. woo.
What sort of animals do you guys think just look kind of.. naturally human-like? I'm thinking of making a character like that. But I do think it's interesting how some animals are just so.. human. Like otters. <3 I'm not sure if it's their faces or the way they move or something, but whatever it is, they're adorable~

EDIT; Squeaaakk

Hello everyone! I am new to this thread and am very happy that the furries in CS get a place to hang out! My fursona is a Canadian Timber Wolf/Siberian Husky/Western Dragon. I don't really draw furries but I love to color things in! I hope this post wasn't unessecary I just thought I would introduce myself.

Pygmy:
Monkies! There are some way cute monkies out there. Pac on FurAffinity did some recently and theirs look really interesting. Ad adorable. Other then that, yeah otters could look pretty human-ish. I wanted to say raccoons because of their grabby-hands xD

Sidewind:

He needs a better name....any suggestions?

I'm honestly horrible with names. In my position I might name it a shade of gray, or look up meaning of names for something to fit personality or occupation.

koowie wrote:Hey guys, im trying to think of a new fursona. Im REALLY Trying hard to come up with one. Any ideas?

I think you would need to be more specific for us to help you out. Like species you are looking at, colors you favor, or just a general direction of how you want your fursona to work. Its really hard to give suggestions without some foundation for us to work on ^-^

@JasperDear: Very cute! And very well done for a 'doodle'. I'd like to hear more about the combination of unicorn and deer. :3

Actually I think you did very well on the legs, in my opinion. The arms and torso need a little more fleshing out and 'turn' from perspective, but for some first work with anthro anatomy and a digital mouse sketch, I find it quite good ^-^

@B.W. Jacket: I love your paws, they are very well done! Hand paws though, I can see the frustration. I've long been working on the proper balance between hand and paw, to make a proper melding. I honestly like to extend the digits on the paw and make them able to grip more, while moving up the dew-claw to a more 'thumb-like' position.

Gorgeous <3 I love the natural markings mixed with the darker tone. Also, I believe its CS appropriate... but like mentioned earlier it just needs to remain in link with a small warning is all ^-^

Perhaps we could actually hold an event or two here on the thread for group pictures or anthro design trades perhaps? ^-^ Just a fun idea I've had bouncing around in my head. And thank you so much for the critique. Male hips for me are so hard D: I keep wanting to turn them into female hips, and then they start looking more feminine then I want them to XD I'll need to do a few more sketches to get it down.

Thank you, I like floofy hoofers so some reason, though there aren't many. I just want to give them more and more floof XD And actually, not influenced by your picture {:P}, but I've always found mice, and rats to be quite human-like. Especially their nonfurred hands, feet and tail. I can think of raccoons and possums, but those are just human-like for the same reason. ^-^;

@SideWind: Welcome! Do you have any pictures of your interesting mix/hybrid?
