I've never gotten a ticket in my life and I have a friend who gets one like every other month. -.-;; For crying out loud, learn to drive or get off the road. The freeway is not your personal racetrack.
My personal annoyance is that no one learns to drive a manual transmission anymore, at least in the states. Though I guess it's a good excuse for why I don't let anyone else drive my car. XD
Yeah, all reckless drivers annoy me, but I just rode with someone my age earlier, which is why I'm ranting about teenage drivers in particular. It's ridiculous how some of them drive. I was a bit worried for us because her driving was just all over the place, and, from the look of it, she was either completely unaware of how she was driving or just plain didn't care. It's so frustrating.
Another reason I'm targeting young people is most of them don't have to buy their own cars, so, unlike adults, they don't necessarily put as much value into it. I feel really bad for their parents. :/ It's so disrespectful to be given something like a car and not take care of it.
I've never really had the chance to learn manual transmission, mainly because no one in my family owns a car that requires that skill (except for my aunt). During my freshman year in high school, my mom got a prius, so that's what I learned to drive. Now, I own that car, but mom didn't give it to me until the summer before my senior year (this year C:). I know I'm lucky to have an expensive car as my first, so I'm not going to just throw it away. Even if I had an old, crappy car, though, I still would be careful, so I just don't get why so many teenagers aren't. Take my cousin for example. She totaled three cars during high school, and had a lot of minor accidents. >.>;;

It's ridiculous, really, how reckless a lot of them are. Do they not care enough about their own lives? About others' lives? About how much money a car is worth? It's not that hard to focus on driving. If you're going to get distracted easily, you should just not drive.
Hopefully this won't offend anyone; I feel like I have a right to say this since I am a teenage driver. xD And I'm proud to say that I've never had an accident because I actually put effort into being safe on the road.
This is exactly why I waited until I was 18 to get my license. My sister drives like a maniac
texting, talking on her cell, speeding, purposely veering into oncoming traffic because she knows it 'bugs me'. I've always felt like the minimum age for driving should be at least 18
I am/do too. I can't even look at my phone without feeling unsafe. The only accident I've ever had was the other guy's fault. It was at a right turn merge on the highway. He was watching the traffic and tried to go when there was a gap instead of looking to see if there was someone i front of him >.> he dented my car ;-;
Yeah, my brother was a lot like your sister is. Thankfully he's a lot more careful now, but it's still something he hasn't completely grown out of. I kind of agree with you about the minimum age. Either that or the requirements to get your license should be more strict. When I have kids, I'm not going to give them a car until I'm sure they can handle it. I'm glad my parents didn't let me have my own until I was 17 and a half; I think I'm a better driver for it.
My best friend sometimes talks on the phone with her boyfriend while she drives, but she's a fantastic driver so I don't complain. She's the kind of person who doesn't easily get distracted. I basically never do, though. It stresses me out. If I know for sure someone is going to call, I'll sit my phone on my lap, but otherwise I'm not going to fumble through my pocketbook looking for my phone while I'm driving. I hate taking my eyes off the road. So far, I haven't been in any accidents, but I was almost in one because some lady cut me off (we were at a stoplight where there were two lanes on our side and one lane on the other. She was in the left-turn lane but went straight anyways. >.>). It's a good thing I was paying attention. o.o;;
